When you play Lacerda you think 'this can't get any more difficult ...' and then Lacerda made The Weather Machine.... i will be playing it today... so i will watch this tutorial 3 times more ;) Thank You for the great video
Great explanation of the game , and one I’m sure I’ll be watching several times when I receive my game. For some reason this looks so complicated, whereas On Mars made total sense to me
Same! The game is gorgeous but boy does it ever seem disjointed. I need to spend time understanding the narrative I can weave it thru the teach. Otherwise it becomes difficult to remember many of the rules without constantly referring to the rulebook
Very clear and detailed, almost exhaustive, as usual. Well done! It helps me to verify I did not miss a point after my first reading of the rulebook. A missing point is perhaps to mention that the phase B in the last round is a bit different (several experiments may run).
Great rules explanation. Easy to follow and great highlighting of actions, effects and options. I've played multiple times and still picked up a couple of things that I had previously misinterpreted. This will make getting the game to the table so much easier. Stellar job once again
Thank you for another great rules video, Paul! The game arrived yesterday, and we are playing our first round today! Exciting! As alwyas, your videos helps a lot. Now to set up the game, and read the rules while looking at everything!
It is such a pleasure to view that fantastic video. I really like the way you teach and explain rules. Love it. all the best from berlin ... and thx a lot.
Thank you so much for this, it was extremely helpful. Personally I found the rulebook quite complicated to follow, so this allowed us to actually get on with it and play!
Got my game and I am toggling between the rule book and your video to get a grip. Seems fairly straightforward but the R&D area is the one that seems the slipperiest. Also watching the playthrough and hoping to copy some of the moves when I actually get real people to play. Thanks so much for your expertise. (I noticed you are credited with helping to write the rule book! Nice.)
An important tip I didn't recall hearing in the video is that benefits that give you actions don't require any vouchers to be paid to do that action. We misplayed that our first game so spent a lot more vouchers than we should have. :)
@@GamingRulesVideos Oh, that's right, I've come to know that after watching several of your playthroughs and other videos. Thanks anyway, i totally understand. I'm currently not in position to be a Patreon supporter (when i do, i hope you'll be able to forgive me for taking so long) but i'd like to say that i love your work (and your channel's intro). Cheers!
No need to mention that this is a Lacerda's game... It's pretty much obvious from the time you need to set it up! (By the way: Great theme, here's another hit coming!)
Just watched the video again, after purchasing Kanban EV and Lisboa in the past months. The WM video is well done, but I think the theme/actions integration is the weak spot for me. I will take another look at On Mars, which has another of your excellent how to play videos. Thanks Paul.
I didn't back this one as I'm not sure it would scratch a different itch enough compared to Kanban but it's a reaaaally good one. Maybe my second favorite Lacerda. And the solo is a bit much to cope with but very good as well.
Great video, we played second game and still got some rules wrong. at 29:34, the example is a little misleading only in that, you cant really get the award tiles until you have already published so I feel the board state should have reflected that or explained it. We played 2P game and the first player also does have some advantage as early game Govt actions are quite powerful, so getting the double action first (which can be planed) is very good.
Excellent video. We have just received our copy and have been scratching our heads about many things which you have explained. One question: in a 2 player game, are the professor's bots ever removed from one of the lab columns? IOW, must there always be one professor bot in each column? Also? What happens if a player runs completely out of vouchers? Do they just go to one of the areas, earn a voucher, then do nothing for that turn? Thx again
Hi. I have some doubts. 1. If your workshop is full and u can get a cog due to an action, can u discard one u already have to take a new one or simply you couldn't get that new one? 2. When publishing, can you use 2 award tokens? 3. Whe doing a subsidy action and flipping a free acrion tile (a.e. doing the sell a part action), do you have to pay vouchers and/or cogs or you dont pay anything?
At 18:29 - Would purple actually have a choice of one of the four left most rewards on the R&D funding track (rather than one of the three) since it would apply the +2 modifier from the Lab funding track? Or am I missing something? We’re playing our first game this weekend so I’m doing a bit of studying. Edit: Okay, I see now. You are explaining the R&D track separately. Sorry for the confusion.
Nice video, but the part describing what happens in Phase B during the last extra round is missing. Manual page 22 Last paragraph "During Phase B of the final round...." Anyway thanks for everything
So I just tried playing this on TTS...how do I gain machine parts? Is there an action for it? I couldn't find it in this video and neither can I in the rulebook?
There is no action that allows you to take machine parts - you only get them from icons or effects. I have a memory of saying this in the video at some point but it has been a while since I did it.
@@GamingRulesVideos thanks for the clarification. I suppose the benifit would be going to the left most for the 2 actions, or going to the right most to deny any other players going there the extra vouchers.
37:38 - You say the experiment does not run so the rightmost snow tile is removed... but the assistant is in the snow area and it is full of bots. Did I miss something?
"" one of the best things about dude is that he never takes credit for himself when he achieves something . he always respect us, the audience, and his team, and he is always polite in all of his video. we congratulate ourselves on this achievement more to come and everything to come""❤💛🧡💙 Let's we all just appreciate the content this man and his crew makes it's just a masterpiece imagine what's he's gonna doing the future ❤ I hope this channel never ends and keeps spreading happiness.❤😊
The explanation seems to be exemplary as always, but the game itself seems to be a complete mess. I don’t know what it is about this game in particular l but I find myself completely flummoxed by it. Too many little rule exceptions that change depending on player counts, and a truly bewildering amount of iconography, and none of it feels tied to the theme in such a way that makes anything feel remotely logical. There are so many needless mechanical inconsistencies and clauses it makes my head spin. 😵💫 I love Lacerda’s work, and I’ve had no trouble learning any of his other games, but this is one game I fear will sit on my shelf unplayed until judgement day. Even if by some miracle it finally makes enough sense that I can try it out, I still have to try and explain it to my group.
This is a very well made video but unfortunately the British accent tires me out after a while. I guess I will watch another video and come back to this. The rules seem to be explained very well here.
I’ve got to teach this in the new year having never played it myself. Your videos are a saviour. Thank you
This channel is 1st choice when it comes to rules / game understanding, thank you Paul.

I can't wait for another Lacerda game. Kanban EV is one of my all time faves
Thank you for this amazing video, Paul
The introduction of graphics to help outline stuff is superb.

We just played it for the first time last night. We messed up way more rules when first playing On Mars, but this one was way harder to understand.
Excellent tutorial Paul, thanks!Getting ready to play it for the first time tomorrow, our 4th Lacerda.

Watched the video a couple of times and read the rulebook 2 times. I am almost ready to play the game.

Regretting not backing this but a great game and a thorough how to play. Keep up the great work Paul!

You’ve melted my brain. Need to rewatch.
Great "How to" session Paul ! Exemplary work !!! Clear, educative and smooth. I will definetly buy the game
I will. It’s only 150 bucks

Great explanation Paul, really useful and got me hyped to play this
Very much looking forward to this one getting delivered, and will use the your video to learn to play.
Great!! I can't wait to start my first play tomorrow as I just received my copy of this beautiful game. Thank you Paul! 😊
Perfect explanation as usual ! Many thanks 🙏
Great teach as usual 👍 I’ll be watching this every other day until the game arrives 😂
Thank you for this video! Great explanation and awesome game!
Thanks for another great How to Play, Paul! These heavy games are so much easier to learn with your help.
An important tip I didn't recall hearing in the video is that benefits that give you actions don't require any vouchers to be paid to do that action. We misplayed that our first game so spent a lot more vouchers than we should have. :)
Ditto!
Great explanation as usual - can't wait to check this out in Essen
Thanks Paul--Great as always! 🎄🎆 🎉
Really clear explanation, it's got me really excited to get the game soon.
I need to play other Lacerdas before getting this one but this is an excellent video as usual, thanks Paul!
Great Video, as always, Paul!
Excellent tutorial! Thanks so much!
Impressive, very well done. Straight to the point and super clear 🤌
Excellent video. Excellent teach. Thanks!
Thank you, Paul! Top notch teach.
you're welcome. And thanks for the Patreon support!
Cant wait to get my copy and watch this video a couple of times to prepare for the teach😅
Great game tutorial as usual. Thank you for sharing ( Secretly hoping for you to make a solo playthrough). Take care!
The solo rules for this game scare me :) I like my solo modes to be very low maintenance.

Paul Grogan protects us from all sorts of bad gaming weather…..
Thanks!
On 42'15: is the end of game trigger rightly shown? Where are the chemicals you have to spend in the R&D when you put the bots?

Sorry, I don't remember the rules in that much detail. BGG might have the answers for you.

This is awesome Paul as usual. But did we skip the actions on location 1 supply? or is it just me :D
I'm pretty sure that is in the video somewhere :)

One question: if after a breakthrough action all the spaces in a level 1 extreme weather tile are full it is removed and the space stays empty?
I'm not 100% sure. I think that was asked a few times before and Vital said "it will never happen"
Very succinct teaching of the game. Now just make a solo version.
How would you gain machine parts?

There is no action that allows you to take machine parts - you only get them from icons or effects. I have a memory of saying this in the video at some point but it has been a while since I did it.
So when moving your scientist you don't have to take the left most open action space if it is open?
Nope. You can go to any open space. The only restriction is in round 1
@@GamingRulesVideos thanks for the clarification. I suppose the benifit would be going to the left most for the 2 actions, or going to the right most to deny any other players going there the extra vouchers.

Why did it start raining the second you posted this video?
Sorry about that. It's sunny here though!
44 minutes later:
Say what?! 🤣
37:38 - You say the experiment does not run so the rightmost snow tile is removed... but the assistant is in the snow area and it is full of bots. Did I miss something?
Good spot. Yes, that is mistake. Imagine the branch was not full. Thanks!
As a Deaf boardgamer I implore you to get your videos captioned properly instead of relying on inaccurate autocaptioning.
how do you cite ?
was that part not clear in my video?
@@GamingRulesVideos I am sure it was but my cats are always needing something so I keep missing where it is :)
@@halloweenlady4073 it should be in the section on publishing
Just “wow”…
I don’t think the rules could be explained any clearer. It’s a lot of rules. I hope I do as great a job teaching it.
Thanks

Sorry, I can’t do anything about the way I talk. Personally, I tire of the American accent, but again, there is nothing they can do about it.
I am truly tired of hearing the Romanian accent but I can't do anything about it right? Especially bad are the accents of people from Cluj-Napoca
I want this game so bad.
