    Group an instrument, duplicate and add an effect (verb/delay) at 100% on the duplicate. This gives you a wet and dry version. Add the wet amount to taste. Voila = basically a return track right on the channel strip. You can even sidechain the wet signal to the dry signal if needed. Learned that from KSHMR and used it religiously ever since.

    • @MichaelMatics
      @MichaelMatics 4 года назад +2

      You should rather group the effect and create a chain in the FX group with no fx on it. It's the same result, but you don't need to duplicate the instrument, which saves CPU.

    Nice video. But I would tell you a tip for personal shortcuts: you say that every time you have a new session you hit command K and set "r" as Record. You can open a new file, do that and then save it as your default template. Then there's no need to do it again: each new file will have already the "r" designated.

    Didn't know that about the delay. Good look! With the custom key commands you can set all your regular ones and save that as default session so it loads up every new session with your key commands. Also one of my favorite key commands is creating a marker and applying a key to that so you can always set a restart point in the area you're working on. The cmd+space bar restart is annoyingl because it will restart on anything that you have selected.

    Hello. I set up a "home recording studio" in the living room. I use Ableton 10 Live Lite and the external audio interface Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. I would be very grateful for your advice. . . I managed to record some audio tracks through the styles in my Yamaha psr-s970 keyboard and vocals. Somehow I adjusted it so that it had dynamism and the recording didn't sound very amateurish. Unfortunately, after many attempts to export the entire project to a certain format, the volume is always significantly reduced, the effects and dynamics also fall down. . . I can't handle it. When I run the project in Ableton, it plays well. I hope you understand my English. Greetings from Czech Republic (Czechia) Thumbs up for your videos.

      @@ReidStefanMusic Guys guys! There is yet another way to add even more shortcuts if you don't want to go about creating new templates. I use a Mac so I only know one way to do this. Take this route: System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts > Hit the '+' button > Select Ableton Live from the top drop-down menu labeled 'Application:' > From here you have to enter the exact name of the pathway for the action you want to take. For example, I made a lil shortcut for freezing my tracks since Ableton doesn't have one by default. In the 'Menu Title:' box I then put "Edit->Freeze Track" It's important to put that little arrow in between each step like that. "->" After that, in the second box labeled 'Keyboard Shortcut:' I chose my shortcut to be '⇧⌘1' This method is real nice because it bakes in the shortcut to whatever you wanna do on Ableton without worrying about using an updated template. I hope this helps at least one homie! :)
