      Nice one - hope you get on well with the Kamvas - I am very happy with out, although the felt nibs seem to wear out quite quickly with my style :-)

      @@BasementPicasso Yes, I also feel that the normal(Plastic?) nib is too smooth, and I changed the felt nib, but the feeling does not improve significantly.

    Awesome video and this was the deciding factor for me to get one and it arrived today! Really takes getting used to with such a big screen but I imagine when I get used to it and adjust my workstation better for the Huion that I will deem it a fine piece of equipment and I will not be having any need to upgrade from it for many years to come, maybe even over a decade. Though for some reason in photoshop I don't seem to get the pen rotation working. Tilt seems to work though but rotate has this (!) On it I wonder why.

      Awesome, I hope it really works out well for you. I am still very impressed with mine. Sorry, I don't have Photoshop so I can't suggest anything. I know in some packages like Realistic Paint then tilt & direction just work, while others like Rebelle have multiple pen driver settings under properties that affect how it picks up the pen. I use Wacom compatible normally, but the windows ink is required when I am using AstroPad and remote Ipad. Maybe a case of digging around in the tablet properties or something in photoshop ...

      Also, what software would you recommend for me? Charcoal. Pastel. Pen and ink, etc

    Great video. How do you have Rebelle 6 setup for your new Huron? I have tried the Wacom and the second choice, but the only one that works for me is the Windows 8+ option.
    Thanks again for your videos

      Thanks, Mitch. On the current tablet, I have "Use pen position" and "Wacom compatible (WinTab)" selected. I believe that was the same setting for the last one too.

    I've used the KD100 for a while, and as you say, the fact that you have to change what the dial does by the button is kind've a pain.
    But not because you have to use the button, but that Huion displays what you’re changing it to on the MAIN display, not the tablet itself.
    Because I pulled out the tablet out in front of the main display while using it, I couldn't easily see what I was changing it to.
    You'd figure this would be easy to solve, but....
    Great video, tho.

    hi! awesome review. i picked one up a while ago but have had constant start up/power cycle issues with my heavy duty M1 Mac using the USB C cable. Sometimes the computer will wake up but the tablet wont or it will take a full minute or two. Most of the time the Huion drivers won't recognize the dual screen and i have to reset and retoggle on my pen prefferences...have you had any issues like that?

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! Sorry to hear you are having issues. From my side, nope haven't seen anything like that recently, but I am using separate power + Display Port from PC on windows 11. I did have some issues with Windows 10 coming out of sleep sometimes not detecting it correctly which I think needed the monitor to be powered on & then the PC restarted occasionally. Ah the joy of technology ...

    I used to use photoshop for work. I used a Wacom tablet and it was pretty comfortable. I'm getting back it natural media simulation as a hobby and for enjoyment. Do you think 24" is the right size? I've worked on smaller tablets and I get cramped up after a bit. Being able to place the brush or tool directly on the canvas I think will be a game changer.

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  7 месяцев назад

      @StevenKW I think there is a bit of personal preference here. For me I have used various devices from 13" to 27" over the years. I think 22-24" is a great size for a fixed tablet as a main device. Smaller devices are fine for occasional use or portable / flexible needs. I use the 14" Samsung S9 Tab Ultra for "sitting on the couch" drawing. Bigger devices are a luxury, but not necessary - I think it is better to have a larger second monitor (I have a 49" Aorus) to view work at a larger scale, rather than a bigger tablet. A smaller device really benefits from touch as you will zoom in and out more. I don;t need it much on the 24" Huion, and I use the Loupedeck to zoom & rotate if needed. Hope that helps :-)

    I noticed this drawing tablet has usb-a ports but i wanted to know if this could be used for mouse and keyboard? It would free up some space

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, absolutely. Just tested it. I have USB C and DVI cables into Kamvas Pro, and the Keyboard & Mouse work through the two side USB A from boot up without issue. FYI - It's not how I use it, but only because my big monitor has a KVM switch built in so I can use one keyboard & mouse for both main PC and work laptop, but for a single PC setup it would work fine. Hope that helps.

    how does it feel compared to the Ipad pro? I just want a smooth lag-free drawing tablet.

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  Год назад +1

      I have an iPad pro-2018. I would say the apple pencil is slightly smoother and feels more accurate in its tilt accuracy and is a premium product. I would rate the Kamvas as a close second, generally smooth, fast, and reasonably accurate and I have no issues with it. The 24" screen is very nice, and the accuracy even up to the edge is pretty good. On the PC, the responsiveness is also very CPU-related (new video on this soon). Having a new fast i9 now, the responsiveness of everything is very good, and not limited by the Kamvas. Hope that helps

    Greetings. Nice video. Need help: I am a traditional artist. Presently started doing art on iPad Pro. I’m not into manga or anime. More like portraits, landscapes, etc. would you recommend this? I really want a much larger screen than the iPad due to older eyesight lol I would probably have to scale the UI up to 300% to see the brushes, etc. . Would this work for me?

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks. I can sympathise with the eyesight thing - I am now firmly in the bifocals camp! I am very happy with the 24". I have had both larger and smaller screens and I think 24 is a good size particularly if it is 4k as it is very crisp. With Rebelle you can scale the UI up and down as needed - I have it at 120% but it goes from 50 to 200 so you should find a scale that works. Hope that helps

      @gregjo3808 in terms of software - for iPad Have a look at Realistic Painter App - it has some very good dry media effects. You can also get it for PC. You will see it in a few of my videos. On the PC then there is lots of choice, but I still stick with Rebelle 🙂

    Hello! Sorry for getting here with quite... outdated question, but wanted to ask, if you were to consider cheaper comparisons, would you either choose Wacom Cintiq 16 w/ Corel Painter 2022, or Kamvas 16 Pro?
    I want to come back to drawing heavily, and as for now I'm really amateur artist, but I have plans on getting better with next few years and want to have tablet which will satisfy me on long run, but also have too little expertise to be able to easily tell the advantages/disadvantages. Wacom is more costly, but I could sacrifice it if it is better overall (already seen it has better support for stands which I find really nice), especially considering CP included. Just wanted to ask you because I saw this review and was curious if you had any opinion on this matter ^^

      Hi Tom. I haven't used either of those myself, however I did have a 16" wacom mobileStudio a while back & it was very good. The Wacom 16 looks competitively priced at £570, compared to the Kamvas Pro at £530 - I think they will both be very good. If you want a 4k tablet the Huion at £900 looks much better value than the Wacom at £1400, unless you are desparate for touch (I have never found that working very well in windows, and always ended up switchig it off most of the time!) hope that helps

    Wacon cintiq is touch screen, but it is not

    • @BasementPicasso
      @BasementPicasso  Год назад +2

      A fair comment - I should have covered it. I have had issues with touch on windows displays in the past & not sure how much it is needed on a larger display. With the Huion, I use loupedeck for zoom (and very occasionally rotate). However, I have ordered a Wacom mobile studio pro & think the touch screen on that will be much more useful, hopefully. I guess the question should be is a 3 inch bigger display and touch screen + wacom technology worth over 2k extra?
