Sicilian Towns | Petralia Soprana - One of the most beautiful Norman forts

A small town of 2900 inhabitants 1147 m.a.s.l. in the Madonie mountains. Won the award as one the most beautiful forts in Italy. Was fortified by the Normans where a castle was built, several churches, towers and fountains. Personal highlights are Church Santa Maria di Loreto with a beautiful backside facade and fountain of Porta Seri. Both built by Normans.
