I have serious doubt they’d do all that much rebuilding even for Jewish settlers. What the Israelis are really interested is in oil/gas exploration off the Gaza coastline.

If you turn your head and look away you don't see any of it.
Because nobody claimed to think otherwise at the time, they did not in fact 'look away' at all but openly celebrated it & everyone including the victims openly fought by those rules back then so these are 2 wildly different things. Finkelstein rose to prominence in 2000 after publishing The Holocaust Industry, a book in which he writes that the memory of the Holocaust is exploited as an ideological weapon to provide Israel a degree of immunity from criticism.[3] He is a critic of Israeli policy and its governing class. The Israeli government barred him from entry to the country for ten years in 2008.[4] Finkelstein has called Israel the "Jewish supremacist state", and views it as committing the crime of apartheid against the Palestinian people.[5] Through personal accounts in one of his books, he compares the plight of the Palestinians living under Israeli occupation with the horrors of the Nazis.[6] Finkelstein's most recent book on Palestine and Israel, published in 2018, is Gaza: An Inquest into Its Martyrdom.

I never thought we'd visit Germany 1945 again. Torture camps, concentration camps, death camps, industrial scale extermination, fascism, radical right extremism... all of it being normalized, rationalized, even cheered for
It happened just 3 years later in Palestine called the Nakbah, by the people who suffered at the hands of the Nazi’s. They used Nazi strategies back then, throwing kids in clay ovens burning them alive, mass graves, rapes, cutting babies out if wombs, all these ‘stories’ you hear Isreal say are the realities of the Nakbah. Those who survived were expelled some to neighbouring countries and many to Gaza. Gaza is a population of refugees as a result of the Nakbah. Thats how Isreal was created.

Gaza isn't gone. Gaza is the people, not the buildings. Prof. Finkelstein seems to have forgotten that at one time hundreds of thousands of Gazans lived in tents. Israel, on the other hand, is dwindling, as planeloads of "settlers" head back to the places they came from.
Stop calling it a war. A war is something two nation states with standing armies engage in. Words are important... and the indiscriminate use of 'war' only plays into Netanyahu's hands.

I’ve been saying the same for a while. Even if the Israelis were to let building materials in (and their own economy is shit right now so they’re certainly not going to pay for it) the costs of rubble removal and reconstruction of living spaces for 2 million people would be astronomical and take 10 years? 15 years? 20 years? I have serious doubt they’d do all that much rebuilding even for Jewish settlers. What the Israelis are really interested is in oil/gas exploration off the Gaza coastline.
And possibly the Ben Gurion Canal. Big project, but lucrative in the long run, and strategic for the Empire!
A UN report estimates 15 years. Who would even pay for it? Israel wants to make it uninhabitable, that’s its strategy.
There is a huge Palestinian diaspora with building in their blood. After Israel wears itself out, BRICS nations will invest in Gaza, & the Palestinian diaspora will return & build it back in no time.

Israel doesn't pay one thin dime for anything going in to Gaza. The Israeli government forces Palestinians to pay them for the water on and under Palestinian land, and will not allow them to create any independent infrastructure for power, water, purification/desalination. wifi, mail, etc. Israel forces Palestinian dependence, then blames them for it on the international stage.

a very good point ,indeed.
