To get pass the trials is extremly difficult. Usually the most competent soliders try to get it and 90% fail. Even many lieutenant and sergeants who try to get in fail. But the training they get and investment that's put onto each one of them is pretty impressive. So it's safe to say that ESTSOF is no joke.
regarding estsof-s arsenal, there main battle rifle was, i think still is a g36, i got to try on all the gear when they were recruiting in my army base when i was doing concsription service, but as with SOF-s go they have a whole arsenal of weapons inorder to have the right tool for the right job (from 50 cal-s to super quiet ones), especially interesting for me was the sidearm they had, it was i think a specially modified USP which has a holster only safety, if you removed it from the holster it was always hot, no separate safety was built in to the sidearm, plus numerous other attachment capabilities, silencers, extended mags and so on and on
jää vees karastumine. basically its a traditional thing where a person harden themselves is cold water because it is known build up resistance within the person when they encounter cold conditions.
No it is time to downgrade, the fucking congress is playing sircus allwoing people to go to places freely one day, and the next it is illegal to go there, so If you missed a show don't blame them :)
I know its 4 years late but did you know that this is the second iteration of spec opcs ins estonia. There was one before (in the 90s) but it went rogue
Estonia and Finland are not brothers. We're very good friends. Just cuz Finnish people come to Estonia to buy cheaper alcohol and Estonian people go to Finland to get a work with higher salary, doesn't make us brothers. Latvia and Lithuania are our own brothers cuz we protect each other and our countries. If Finland helps us with the Ruskies solution by preparing to go to war against Russia, we will call you our brother.
@@andrisarev6578 Finish your secondary school, learn your history. The Finnish volunteers actually fought and died in Estonian War of Independence, same as Estonian volunteers did in Finnish Winter and Continuation War. We've bled for each other's freedom, and in both cases against the same enemy. If that doesn't make us brothers in arms, I don't know what does.
Great video👍Check out JR 200.The Estonian Volunteer Regiment (3500 men) who fought in the Finnish Army in WW2.They fought extremely hard on both the Finnish-Soviet front and later on the German-Soviet front in Estonia.
@ Combat Arms Channel; I think it'll be cool if you did some stuff with Artur Rehi. Also, a honorable mention is Matsimus. I believe he was British tanker then transfered over to the Canadian military and he does military vehicles.
Please don't do it with Artur. The guy was a pog in conscription that is milking the viewers with the fact he was in the military. All he pretty much did was basic and from what i've heard he wasn't good at what he did ( I know some people who served with him). He does speak a lot of bs and isn't respected among the edf community, he is an joke. It's all up to you.
Hello, an Esto-American here. No conscripts in Estonian Army. They have a draft, but conscripts are people who are basically pressed or "shanghai'd" into service by a foreign country. Esto's were conscripted into the German and Russian armies in WWI and WWII. Esto's are proud to serve their country
Other kinda funny thing with estonian military is that estonia was part of Soviet union until it collapsed and now they're part of nato. I don't see any reason why there wouldn't still be working people from soviet military, correct me if i'm wrong.
I don't think there's very many ex-Soviet officers left in the Estonian army, but there certainly were. The most famous probably being General Ants Laaneots, who was a two-time chief of general staff and the commander of the Defence Forces in Estonia - 20 years in Estonian service. But before he also served in the Soviet army for 21 years from 1970-1991, becoming a colonel. Now a member of the parliament serving his second term.
Did my eleven month conscription back in 2015 - obviously as a conscript I never had a chance to see or know many officers up close *parades and brigade general morning speeches discounted*, but everyone I saw up to a colonel level were under 50 and most under 40 - which means that most likely they either didn't serve in USSR military at all, or maybe as a conscripts themselves at most. Our platton, company and battalion commanders were in their 30s. The only really old guy I've seen was an NCO in his 60s. He had a rank of just "senior sergeant" and we made jokes that he is truly senior. So to summarise - maybe be in the higher echelons, but not really in the lower ranking parts of military.
