- Golders Green is the second posthumous CD release of demo material recorded by Badfinger frontman Pete Ham. The recordings are taken from various eras, beginning with compositions he wrote during his years with The Iveys in 1968 and 1969, and running throughout his tenure with Badfinger, ending with his death in 1975.
Most or all of the original recordings were made on Ham's home Revox two-track tape machine, with some remainders apparently recorded in professional studios and transferred to his home machine. Most or all of the original recordings highlight Ham playing all of the instruments. In cases where the instrumentation was sparse, session musicians were utilised to enhance the recordings. Notably, Badfinger member Bob Jackson later added keyboards to some tracks, and Iveys member Ron Griffiths added some bass guitar.
Due to decades of neglect and improper storage, the original tapes were greatly deteriorated had to be digitally transferred before the disc was made. An earlier collection of Ham demo material, 7 Park Avenue, was released two years prior to this release.
Love Pete Ham - he wrote the most beautiful songs ever..RIP Pete you musical genius!!! xx
Rest in peace, Pete Ham. Thanks for all the great music and memories!
ALL I hear is love, this man was too good for this world!!! Our sad loss but we will see him again in heaven
I miss Badfinger..they were the best.
I have always loved Badfinger songs, my favourite is Baby Blue. So sad about Pete, if someone could of stopped him from taking his life, all the bad stuff would of passed with time and he could of gone on to greater things but it was not meant to be. RIP Pete Ham
I would fought with all my might to stop him from harming himself ,if I was there .Darn right
This guy is great! Love it.
A haiku short masterpiece of regret and true love.
Such a beautiful talented young man see you soon brother ^i^
How can someone who is a cross between McCartney and Lennon end up killing himself. Awesome musician!!!!
Depression is a hard thing to deal with and when one gets so far down they dont see a way out it seems the only option,,To think of the many things he can have accomplished had he stayed with us Even as well as Tom Evans R*I*P*
I find this to sound more George Harrison, if I had to compare it to anyone. But it's all Pete. A prolific and very gifted musician and songwriter.
@@skinmomz88 Your first words ("depression is a hard thing to deal with") goes right to the point. I know because i suffer chronic depression. My cousin thinks I'm a pro-quality singer songwroterartist (blah) and she gets angry when I talk about my 'pain' as if my skill 'solve evrything'. Oops. I've talked to much, but I agree with you...

Pete Ham had such a beautiful soul! God bless him!
so talented,,,he had everything but self belief,
robert harding I think he had plenty of "self belief", as you called it, but he faced a system that could grind the hope out of anyone.
That is a gutsy thing to say Rob and you are quite right in my eyes as well. What about a little more courage too.
Pete Ham had plenty of self-belief. You just don't put yourself out there as a full time musician unless your love of music is matched by a belief that you've got something special to offer. The trouble with Pete, from everything I know about him, is that he was far too trusting to the point of naivety. If he was still around today he would by now be one of those noble elder state men of rock. And if Tommy was still here too, I'm sure they'd still be teaming up even if there was no Badfinger. Mike too.
Thank you for this rare treat!!💘💘💘
A beautiful song by a beautiful artist. Never forgotten. R.I.P Pete.🙏❤️.x
This is amazing
Човек, преди всичко!
Been a badfinger fan all my life.I uxsed to go to the marquee all the time but never saw them.just got a cd of natural gas with joey molland and friends plus all his solo albums.the one with Julian Lennon is eerie and very good.I nearly hit someone when they derided without you by badfinger once.it still hurts now to think of the way they were treated then. I’m thankful for what they did record, god bless them
Lovely song and voice. R.I.P. x

I have no more idea what happens after we die than anybody else. But if any kind of accounting is made of a person’s crime then I hope the manager of Badfinger is experiencing the most excruciating type of hell there is. He drove this wonderful man to suicide as well as Tom Evans and destroyed one of the best bands of the 70s with his psychopathic level of greed. Goddamn him. Or who or whatever. Damnation is precisely what he deserves.
He (Stan Pauly? -- I think?) had 'mob' tie-ins. If the devil doesn't get him it;s because they already did.
@@kiethblack3870 Right on. I've read about Allan Klein and Malcom McLaren and even the pervert who managed the Bay City Rollers (no being gay doesn't make you a pervert. Having sex with minors does) and I have never read of a band more misused and abused than the brilliant Badfinger. May he be joined at the waist with Colonel Tom Parker in Hell. Just thinking of the amazing music this heartless greedy bastard made sure would never get made is horribly upsetting. It's like the Lennon assassination. All you can do is stand there stupidly asking 'Wtf' ? Thank God for these fantastic Peter Ham albums and thank God for Rhino.
Pete Ham -So muy intelligente y poagee , indentro y la lah bas. Seguro Siempre .Rowena Suarez of Manchester ,New Jersey y San Diego ,California
@JohnnyNny94 Well said.....
❤
He was sooo hot to
great hair
As great as John Lennon
Better. As great as Paul McCartney.
For me he was better than Lennon McCartney
Paul McCartney was good as himself.
John Lennon was as good as himself.
Pete Ham was excellent as Peter Ham. What is the need to compare with Lennon and McCartney? It's Pete Ham, that's it.
Beauthiful nice hermozo
