I agree. Lip balms and lip oils have been so heavily marketed for the last, what is it, two years? People seem to have been convinced that they actually need all the lip balms and oils, in all colors and flavours, no matter how ridiculous the price point.
hi kelly! i think a fun video idea would be for you to rank every brand's version of the squeezy tube lip balm (from the ones you've tried), as i'd be interested to hear which ones you'd recommend most
I actually have been loving the Milk jelly tint on my dry skin! I apply the blush onto a wet sponge and then tap it on my cheeks. Stays on all day and so pretty! It can get glowy as long as you have a glowy base.
It’s so refreshing to hear that you don’t love every single product you try. Honest reviews are rare. The milk makeup jelly blush was awful. I returned it. I have dry skin & it did not blend.
An influencer I trust says she worked directly for Google in marketing. She said that Google's mission is to make it where the user can find what they are searching for. That is the driver. She said that the investors and creators of TikTok studied Google's mission, the Amazon mission of selling adjacent and similar items to what the user is buying, and also how things went viral on RUclips and Instagram. They took all of that and created a platform -- TikTok -- for the sole purpose of making products go viral. That's their mission. It's not about whether the product is good at all. Paid influencers on TikTok are paid to use a proven process that will make a product go viral, regardless of whether it lives up to its claim. There are venture capitalists investing in small companies who are creating products designed to go viral. The investors aren't beauty or skin lovers trying to create innovative products. They're investors making money off of the creation of viral products. So, take your trust of what you see there with a big grain of salt.
giiirl i always get excited when I see a thumbnail where you’ve laid out the products on your bedsheet 😂 I don’t know why, maybe it’s classy and minimalistic, maybe it’s genuine and old school RUclips, maybe it’s both 😌🫶🏻
Thanks for saving me the money! I had a Milk blush in my Sephora cart and I haven't checked out yet! Never heard any other RUclipsr mention that it may not be so friendly for us dry skin gals! I heard it is difficult to work with, so that plus it not being friendly for dry skin makes not buying it an easy decision!!
I bought two and returned them. They are so hard to work with!!! They looked like I had swiped highlighter on my face even though I applied from a brush. So hard to work around and blend even though I never applied it directly on my face.
It’s so refreshing to hear honest reviews on these products- it’s so rare anymore. It’s awesome to see some genuine into these days. Thank you for doing this, we appreciate you!
I have the nude shade of the Tower 28 lip balm and I don’t like the scent at all and it’s SO strong. And it feels like it stays strong the whole time I’m wearing it.
I agree w you on the tower 28 squeeze tub scents, I was looking at them in Sephora and just knew if I bought one it would be too much and make me feel sick
I really appreciate these worth the hype videos. I haven't tried any of these yet since I'm on a no buy. But in the future when I'm in need of something it's nice to know. I'm most likely going to buy the Tower 28 Spray since I am acne prone.
I dont get the hype around the Saie glowy gel either! It's not bad but certainly not anything particularly different. I do enjoy mixing it with my matte foundation for a set-down glow but I likely wont repurchase once I use up my mini.
I have been using the Tower 28 sos spray for more than a year. It has transformed my dry skin, while keeping breakouts at bay. The daily sos power recovery cream is soooo great! Keeps the skin barrier solid, without the breakouts!
Your viral reviews are the best!!! I love your POV and made decisions not to be sold too on some of these!!! Huda powder is worth everything but I love a matte look!
I will say I am LOVING the tower 28 ones, I tend to get reactions when things are artificially fragranced (redness & itching) and I have not had that issue at all with the tower 28 ones- when I have with summer Fridays & glossier ones sadly. So this is a win for us sensitive girls! 🩷
I liked the milk makeup jelly tint, but I have primarily used it as a lip stain. I do have more oily skin, so I did like it fairly well on my bare cheeks, applied directly and blended with my fingers. Not something I would do for a fancy event, there are better blending options, but I’m looking forward to using it on bare skin for a beach vacation.
Regarding the Milk Blush - I feel SO seen!! I find so many of their products to be similar to this description!! Product does not BUDGE once it’s on your skin, even with my oily combination skin
For the milk water stains, I saw a tip from someone who said they apply well over the milk hydrogrip primer since it adds a bit of moisture to the skin to allow for better blending 🧐
You should try the Rare Beauty brow gel. It's more of a wax. I have fine hair and it holds them up very well. I also like it because they don't feel stiff.
So glad the ordinary serum is working for you. I tried it twice and got instant, baby acne. And I’m six months into Tret, so my skin has been pretty good. I haven’t changed anything else so I know that it doesn’t agree with me. I put a pump on my bottle and that really helps. I don’t care for dropper style applications.
i do agree that lip products shouldnt smell TOO good or realistic, i prefer no scent or an artificial food scent, so that i wont think it tastes good to the point that i'll eat all the product lol
Hi Kelly! I’m new to your channel but I love your content so much. Thanks for making entertaining, useful, responsible content (I love the way you aren’t so hype-and-consumerism oriented). Re: the MILK Jelly tints, Robert Welsh just released a video about the “trick” to making those work well. You may have figured out a good way by now, but in case you’re interested in finding a way to get more use out of it, he says the trick is to add the *tiniest* amount at a time and blend quickly after each application until you’ve built it up to your satisfaction.
Maybe you got a weird Saie glow product…. I know you mentioned they all have very subtle differences and you’re right. The reason I like this one is because it is thinner and sits thinner on the skin. I use a (weird I know) dry sponge to tap this in and it is so nice. Doesn’t break me out like so many of the thicker, foundation-y, versions of these glow products. It doesn’t disturb anything underneath it when I apply it this way and it ads subtle glow when I wear it beneath makeup. AND IT FULLY DRIES. Doesn’t stay damp and stay’s put. Doesn’t have as much base pigment either so it looks more natural over all on my skin tone. Maybe subtle differences….but those differences make ALL the difference for me. Love it.
hey kelly! can you please do a what’s is worth it in sephora but just all your favorites that are viral? and a buy this not that viral edition? thanks!
I think you have an issue with the caps of products. 😂 I use many Ordinary serums (have for years) and I’ve never had an issue. I swear you mentioned breaking the caps of another product before. I like the Tower 28 Lip Softie, but I don’t like the round applicator. I use the Milk blush from a brush with no issue. I went in thinking oh no, but 🤷🏻♀️didn’t have an issue. I don’t like the Summer Fridays lip oil. It bled and that’s an automatic no. That Naturium body wash is my favorite. I think the Saie Glowy Gel is way different than the others. I have purchased just about every brand of glow product and I don’t use any other except the Saie. It just works the best for me. I like the consistency both mixed with foundation and alone. The Haus Labs foundation was the worst foundation I tried in 2023. It makes my mature skin look 100 years old. Highlights all the bad things. I cringe thinking about the times I wore it.
Hi Kelly! The Patrick Ta brow gel doesn't do anything for my eyebrows. My eyebrows are thick, and I just can't get that gel to hold them at all. Such a letdown! Love these videos!
the thing about lip oils is that they aren't SUPPOSED to last a long time on the SURFACE of the lips. They're an oil, they're meant to sink in and absorb and hydrate without staying on the surface and being sticky. Otherwise, just buy a gloss or something. I love lip oils, I like how they feel and how my lips feel after they're absorbed. I use one that leaves a stain behind so I still get colour after the oil has absorbed, but its from a small indie brand, not a big brand.
I decided to follow along and rate products I tried on Kelly’s ranking system while watching the video 😊. My thoughts: Worth the hype: The Ordinary barrier support serum, Tower 28 lipsofties, Summer Fridays lip oil, Haus Labs foundation I’m impressed: Tower 28 SOS spray Average: Milk jelly tints I don’t get it: Saie glowy super gel They lied to us: N/A
I’ve always thought pink sugar from summer Fridays smells exactly like those sugar cookies people like that once you have one you can’t walk away. The ones that come out for every holiday in different colors with sprinkles on top of the giant layer of icing lol
I always rely on what Kelly has to say about different types of makeup products. However, I just go with my own gut and intuition and just trust myself with what I have to purchase.😊
I actually disagree abt the Saie glowy gel! I find it to be different to other radiance/glow boosters, and esp VERY different to the Elf Halo Glow which I use basically as foundation. I love it compared to some of those competitors, but can see that the reasons why I love it could be reasons why others don't care for it, or think it's only mid. I like it particularly bc it's so lightweight and blends in kinda like water, bc I use it in a specific way that fits perfectly with that texture. I like to use it over powder products (particularly blush) to add a little life and sheen, bc I have dry skin and powder products can make my makeup/skin look flat. The lightweight, easily absorbable texture works great in this way, plus I love the very subtle glow. But I wouldn't like the Saie gel if I wanted a glowier complexion or a stronger highlight. I'm a little surprised it was on the Trending page on Sephora's site bc it's been around for a long minute, but can understand if it's popular - it's lighter-weight texture makes it more versatile imo. I haven't noticed it clumping when I pump it out tho, I'll have to keep an eye on that. Love this series, Kelly! Always good to get perspective on viral products.
for the milk stain: I adore it as a lip stain. not for my cheeks. i bought it for my lips from the beginning and I'm not disappointed. it lasts forEVER,
I’m a dry skin girly and The Haus labs foundation was my holy grail until winter came! For some reason it appears dry now - hoping it changes back to being flawless in the spring and summer! Anyone else have this happen?!
My skin is lighter than yours and I never had pink residue from TO Serum unless I used too much. 3 drops are enough for my face - no visible residue no pink crust 😅
I got the tower balm and I was really excited about it. I thought it was perfect to put on a keychain and I really like the pink one because I love everything pink. I really wanted to like it but as soon as I put it on my lips, it felt so grainy and I knew I would never use it. Maybe it was the one that I got I’m not sure, but I did end up wiping it off and trying my laneige balm and all the graininess was gone. I ended up using some of my Sephora points to get it so I ended up losing $10 when I returned it… but it wasn’t worth keeping
Visible pores and oily skin here. I did not fare well with elf camo liquid blushes. I had two shades. Didn’t like either. Spread way too far all over my face and was splotchy. I am not a creams or liquid person so I should’ve known but I wanted to try. Fail for me.
The elf blush is patchy on me :( I need to try it with a different foundation/base. I have oily skin btw and have tried applying with different brushes.
Tower 28 daily rescue sos really works however its extremely overpriced. Skin-smart antimicrobial is the exact same thing and is 17.46$ for 8oz while tower 28 is 28$ for 4oz. Skin smart even has one for eczema. Its a product recommendation by dermatologist in both the UK, Scandinavia, and USA. Im not sure about other countries.
I tried the Saie glowy super gel and hated it so much I returned it, I definitely don’t get the hype on that. I also got the Patrick Ta birthday set, and I really like the brow gel. I just use a very small amount and I don’t feel I get a white cast or any dandruff etc. I actually was going to try the physicians formula brow gel when I get done with this, because I heard it was a duo for it
It's true since Elf duped CT flawless filter every drugstore brand has jumped on the band wagon 🙄🤣🤣 Collection, Revolution, even Rimmel brought one out 🤣🤣 the best one is still Elf though. Been using it everyday as my base instead of Foundation
Anything that is hyperchlorous acid. That is the main active ingredient. But double check the main active ingredient since I'm just a rando on the Internet.
The summer Fridays lip balm and Laneige glowy balm were not good for me. I actually returned the Summer Fridays because it made my lips peel and hurt for days! I since bought the Nars afterglow lip balm, and that one makes my lips feel great.
I love the summer friday's lip balm, I have several, but my qualm with them is the applicator. It gets pretty messy and gross even with constantly wiping them. I'm curious if the tower 28 will stay a little cleaner with the shape of the applicator so I'm going to give it a try.
I’m very aware of tastes/ scents when it comes to products and I feel like when people review things sometimes those 2 factors get over looked … I didn’t like the tower 28 lip balms bc the taste lingered in the back of my throat - I also feel the same way about the cinnamon like taste to the new Patrick ta lip gloss plumpers … I also cannot stand the scent of Chanel products
I also have noticed certain lip products make my throat feel weird. Sarah Rose was talking about this recently, and someone in the comments suggested it might be an allergy. (So fourth-hand advice? 😉) I still haven't figured out what causes it for me - I thought it was castor oil at first, but my favorite lip balm (elf Ride or Die) includes it. (ETA: I think it's probably sunflower oil for me.) Anyway, it may be worth some trial-and-error if it's something that matters to you!
I saw Lauren Mae beauty use the milk blush by taking the brush to the product, then apply to cheek. She said it’s the only way she figured out how to get it to work and blend
I have some higher end skin care products that stains my skin an orange (blech). I have very fair/light skin so I’m assuming that is why. That’s good to know about the ordinary product.
I was so sdissapointed by the longevity of the Skylar Hair & Body Mist in Vanilla Sky. I MIGHT be going nose blind to it because I've smelled this kind of scent a million times but it disappears in like 2 seconds. I think it was like 24 bucks too and it isn't any better or more "complex" than a bath and body works fragrance.. lol (But I mean, let's get real no one is buying vanilla body mist to smell like the rarest, most precious individual on earth)
Hi Kelly! I've been trying to figure out which O&J polish that is (it's gorgeous on you!) because we have similar skin tones, can you tell me the name? Thank you!!! (btw it never crossed my mind to put that Ordinary serum under my makeup, it's what I use before bed, giving my skin a rest)
I actually think it's absurd that people think $16 for a squeezy lip balm is acceptable...
Right like I can get a multipack of carmex lip balms for like $6 and it’s similar enough to me lol
I agree. Lip balms and lip oils have been so heavily marketed for the last, what is it, two years? People seem to have been convinced that they actually need all the lip balms and oils, in all colors and flavours, no matter how ridiculous the price point.
Or 40$ for a certain lip oil
Same even my Burt's Bees 4 pack has gone up in price 😢
Elf has some that r like 4$ if anyone wants to try a similar style product for less exorbitant prices lol
Hi Kelly! I always appreciate you keeping it real and not jumping on every hype train that comes around.
hi kelly! i think a fun video idea would be for you to rank every brand's version of the squeezy tube lip balm (from the ones you've tried), as i'd be interested to hear which ones you'd recommend most

Same girl smh I’m like wait it’s good if you don’t misuse it
@@tammystilettoyeah skill issue for the ppl who can’t use it I actually even blend it just fine swiping it directly on my face and I have dry skin lol
I have super dry skin and I feel like liquid blush works way better on me. it's just more moisturizing and occlusive than a normal tint that dries out
i use it on my lips and it’s the BEST it looks so natural
It’s so refreshing to hear that you don’t love every single product you try. Honest reviews are rare. The milk makeup jelly blush was awful. I returned it. I have dry skin & it did not blend.
I swipe it directly on my dry skin and it blends just fine, did you try using a brush or sponge? Were you waiting before blending?

Man I've been out of the makeup game for a minute.
Never heard of Summer Fridays or Tower 28 until I started watching your videos again this month.
I use and like the Ordinary barrier serum, and have no issues with seeing pink on my skin!

Worth the hype: The Ordinary barrier support serum, Tower 28 lipsofties, Summer Fridays lip oil, Haus Labs foundation
I’m impressed: Tower 28 SOS spray
Average: Milk jelly tints
I don’t get it: Saie glowy super gel

I just use a very small amount and I don’t feel I get a white cast or any dandruff etc. I actually was going to try the physicians formula brow gel when I get done with this, because I heard it was a duo for it
Thanks for this video, because some of these products are overhyped.
Hi Kelly!
Would you ever consider getting a lash lift and taking us along? I have lashes like yours and would love your opinion. ☺️
I wonder if the milk product will work better in the summer, like it might just run more emollient in higher temps
It's true since Elf duped CT flawless filter every drugstore brand has jumped on the band wagon 🙄🤣🤣 Collection, Revolution, even Rimmel brought one out 🤣🤣 the best one is still Elf though. Been using it everyday as my base instead of Foundation
I am so curious…. You mentioned that the tower 28 spray is dupable and less expensive options are available…. Can you give us some suggestions???
Most drug stores have a version which are less than half the price of the Tower 28 one.
I like the eos squeeze lip balms. They're $9.99 at target lol.
Blood doesn't dry pink 😂
@@gasparinhaadded fragrance is a typical allergen trigger, but yeah the back of the throat thing is a typical allergic reaction.
Gosh how much of the ordinary product were you putting on? To look like you’re bleeding I’d say a little too much 😂
o.0 Huh? I’ve never had any problems with The Ordinary’s packaging. Maybe I’ve just been lucky? 😮 Haven’t tried the pink stuff, though.
Samantha March uses the Milk stain as a lip stain. You might like that product better like that.
I saw Lauren Mae beauty use the milk blush by taking the brush to the product, then apply to cheek. She said it’s the only way she figured out how to get it to work and blend
Ur hair and makeup are giving Taylor swift vibes!!
I wanted to love the Milk jelly tint but its genuinely the worst makeup product I have. It also dries out my lips.
What dupe would you recommend for the tower 28 spray?
I have some higher end skin care products that stains my skin an orange (blech). I have very fair/light skin so I’m assuming that is why. That’s good to know about the ordinary product.
Wow love the makeup and hairstyle today. You kinda look like Taylor swift❤
PLEASE drop the link to the sweater I am begging
She thrifts her clothes. Chances are there is no link.
Can anyone suggest a water-based blush that leaves a good long lasting stain on the cheeks as an alternative to the Milk Jelly Tint? Thank you!
i like huda but its kinda heavy
Respectfully I disagree about the milk blushes 😭
Hi Kelly! I've been trying to figure out which O&J polish that is (it's gorgeous on you!) because we have similar skin tones, can you tell me the name? Thank you!!! (btw it never crossed my mind to put that Ordinary serum under my makeup, it's what I use before bed, giving my skin a rest)
They’re actually press on nails from their velvet line!
@@KellyGoochAha! No wonder I couldn't figure it out, thank you!
I find the saie highlighter be below mid :/ it does nothing
So glad somebody else doesn’t love the milk blushes. I feel like the influencer world is obsessed with them and I just don’t get it
