Amazing doubles tourney, and glad to see these two get the trophy. It wasn't easy. Dabrowski has had a lot of success as a doubles player, but she hadn't won either a major in women's doubles (she had won in mixed doubles) or a WTA Finals title until she teamed up with Routliffe. They are perfect together.
Woohoo! Congrats to Gaby & Erin! 👏👏👏🥳They went undefeated the entire tournament and held on 'til the end. Well fought against the best teams. Way to go!
Congrats Gabby and Erin! Great tournament. Was a bit disappointed they didn't acknowledge their opponents in their speeches. Siniakova remembered to acknowledge the winners.
sorry, I'm Czech, so I'm Katerina's fan, but after what Gabriela did and experienced for women's doubles, I'd like to congratulate this girl! Gabi, in the Czech Republic we really respect you as a brilliant player, please inspire other girls for your incredible energy that you give to tennis. Finally come to see the beauty of Prague, like my Canadian family! Thx for all things you have done!
great finals by all 4 ladies. I still would like to see Katya hire Martina Navratilova as her coach for 2025 to teach her serve/volley. If Katya can impliment the serve/volley game, she with any partner will win the grand slam (barring any injuries of course)
Women's Doubles players are usually more cordial with each other compared to the singles, more hugs to be seen, more embrace and all, but well.......guess not for this one
The observation is simply inaccurate. It all depends on who knows each other well and who doesn't, and the doubles this week has seen both. This was perfectly appropriate, solid handshakes and eye contact.
Similar to listening to the routinely biased commentators, it is disconcerting and disappointing that these highlight packages predominantly feature the shots of the losing team.
I wonder if that is a record for letting shots go that were in for a single match? Obviously their play was still good enough for the win, but wow. Great play from both teams.
I am one who thinks that Townsend could be more of a force if she lost weight; but I have to admit that she gets around the court pretty darn well, and has amazingly fast hands at the net.
“…fast hands at the net.” Indeed - the more highlights I see the more I am amazed at her quick wits and reflexes. If these 2 keep up the partnership they will likely get even better.
@@myhornisfrench settle down. People are allowed to have a damned opinion. plus, this was largely a compliment for her. Truth be told, she is a fine athlete, but with better nutrition and the loss of some weight she'd likely be even better.
Why does Siniakova lose serve so much? I notice it in a lot of her matches. She seems to have a solid enough serve and groundstrokes and volleys, so what happens?
Katya NEEDS to serve/volley. Kick the serve out wide and come in. She needs to hire Martina Navratilova for 2025 to coach her the serve/volley game, and she'll win the 2025 grandslam in doubles
@@MarinDarmonkow didn't they win double that? 140,000 for participating 210,000 for RR wins (70,000 x3), 225,000 semi-final win, 550,000 championship win, and then 1.125 mill for going undefeated. Maybe I interpreted the prize money breakdown incorrectly.
This has to be the worst performance by Siniakova and Townsend in their entire career. They were so unfocused and bad. They didn't seem to care whether they won this match or not. Anyway. Congratulations to Dabrowski and Routliffe on winning this tournament. Job very well done.
My immediate thought was who would post such nonsense, and then I saw who it came from. The complete lack of tennis comprehension explains the comment as it does all the blather about Ostapenko.
The doubles 2024 were breathtaking. Congrats to the finalists and the eventual winners
Doubles tournament was amazing ❤

Come on WTA you must show more Women’s Doubles, the quality has been outstanding in the tournament
congrats dabrowski/routliffe👏👏
This was a good day for Canada, this great win and Shapo in Serbia. For a winter nation and a small population they do pretty good.
Canada need to show more respect to this great double female player .
Congratulations from Aotearoa New Zealand
Absolutely well-deserved champions! Well done ladies!
Marhaba Riyadh!
Nice to see WTA finals in Riyadh and the local families having fun watching awesome tennis!
I’ve enjoyed so many of the matches this week, including the dubs! Well done! And, it’s nice to see dubs players get good money! 💰🎾
Again, such fun doubles
well done doubles ladies...amazing game guys👏👏👏

Why are you so behind
Could you please share videos of a condensed match of the 2024 women's final, and semi-finals? Thanks😊
I LOVE DOUBLES 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 congrats, Champs 🏆
Congratulations Gaby and Erin 💜
Finally in Final has been playing in both doubles A DOUBLE✌🏻🥳
Awesome plays Gabby and Erin
that scream of Routliffe, i can watch it a 100 times
Siniakova plz pair Mertens ❤❤
No, Siniakova plz pair Ostapenko.
@einarsd4
Ostapenko already have kichnok

Good battle.
Team Ontario strikes again!
Great match!

also Gabby and Erin wanted to win this so bad as they lost to Katya and Taylor at Wimbledon
2:53 - no way!

Dabr/Routl got their revenge from Wimbledon
Oh yes 'flawless in the big moments' 👏👏👏👏
I didn't know this couple at all, but played brilliantly all.week.and deserved this great win to be Champions.

Why don't they have advantage after deuce?
The women's doubles uses no-ad scoring. The 7th point decides the game.
It's been like this for almost 20 years lol
I've seen this happening in a few exhibition matches. I assumed this was a thing for those matches only. I'm sorry I didn't know.

A lot of these players owe a lot to Siniakova because without her, a lot of the USA players would've titles. Good Match guys. Taylor ❤ you.
Ayaaaah ayahhhh what the heck. They look like mean girls too
haha nice girls finish last!
Doubles are more exciting..
How much money did dabrowski/routliffe win?
$1.12 million per pair as they finished the round-robin undefeated.
