Please dont stop living your own life. For the kids it's great to have a rolemodel that shows life is still fulfilling next to being just a mother. Stay yourself and not only the mother of. Besides, once they leave home you dont want to feel useless and enter a black hole. Care for them, do fun stuff with them and enjoy, it's a great addition to your life, not something you should resent.

Don’t stress over baby, plants etc…. A lot of us work full time, have kids, pets and plants and we make it. All about planning and organization.

Kids don't stop your life, you just get a bit more tired! But traveling with kids started early I think makes them more adjusted travelers! I started at 19 and now have two beautiful grandkids from my two boys!! So much fun!! You've been a teacher, you will do great!!!!!

I have to say, you have been such a big part of my plant journey. I have gone from 1 to 50+ houseplants with your help. I love how genuine you are, and I truly enjoy your videos. I am 29 and no where near ready for kids, and it is so nice to hear someone who chose to have kids young be so accepting and understanding of our choices. (Idk why others aren't, it doesn't affect them) I guess I just wanted to say I truly appreciate you 😊

I just wanted to pop on and encourage you as a mom. I am not a mom but I’m a day care worker and nanny 3 kids under 3. It is hard, but it is also amazing. I find it best to laugh when the “just wait” moments come. Kids are funny. When you get overwhelmed and everything seems crazy, that is the time to just be silly your self with the baby the most. Have fun in parenthood. You still get to be becca as a mom 😁

Hi Becca, I think its so sweet of you to share your pregnancy journey with us. I only had one child, by choice and yes, your life does change, but you will still be you. I continued to work full time, traveled with and without my son when he was younger and kept my plant hobby, I don't think becoming a parent means you have to lose your identity, it's a choice some make. Enjoy this very special season of your life, it's amazing becoming a parent.

You will do great! Babies are an adjustment, but they are also very adaptable and portable. Get one of those fabric (or make)carriers for you chest. I’m a night owl, so my baby stayed up late with me and slept late.

As a first time mom, for the first couple of months the baby will sleep a great chunk of the day! Although you will also be tired, you’ll also want to find time to do stuff for yourself. Thats the beauty of being a woman we were made for this. You will adjust and figure out what’s best for you! You got this!

I’m 28 and I don’t feel ready to be a mom but when I do become one - this is what I would remind my future self. I know everyone has different styles, personalities and anxieties but I definitely don’t want to feel anxious and scared to bring my babies out in public to where I don’t go anywhere. I work in the wedding industry and I know a florist who is 30 (i’m 28.) She literally totes her baby around and brings him to her jobs while being so calm. It’s so inspiring to me. I want to feel free to go anywhere with my babies and still enjoy what I love.

My plant care took way more of a hit during pregnancy than when I had a newborn, lol! I actually was SO productive with a newborn while on maternity leave because I felt stir-crazy and it was a good creative and nurturing outlet for me that *wasn’t* just being a mom. I just felt too awful when I was pregnant to move or feel passionate about things.

If anything I think its great to have a hobby outside of raising your kids, especially for those early years. It might sound silly but knitting has kept me from postpartum depression the second time around. Its fufilling and peaceful and its something you have control over. You will enjoy getting your ten or more minutes to walk around and care for your plant babies with peace of mind knowing your little one is in good hands. Plus daddy's gotta get some one on one time in!
Maybe get creative if things get overwhelming invite a friend over to help out with the plants! It could be fun!
As long as you have a space inside for baby where you don't have to worry about them reaching any of the plants and they can go 'free range' in the winter haha. Good on you for not heeding everyones warning and advice, you will know when you need advice and you will find out what works for you and your kids. Sometimes all the advice can get confusing and contradicting and get in the way of your own intuition as a mother!
Congratulations on your little girl I am so happy for you!!❤️❤️

I’m so glad you answered the question about your care for plants after baby is here because I’m 39 weeks and I sold quite a few because I was afraid of neglecting them once she arrives since I’m already so exhausted I barely want to care for them. But I feel like the first few months adjusting to being a ftm will definitely be hard trying to care for plants as well (especially in the summer when they need more attention) but I’m excited now to see how often I care for them will change and hopefully I’ll buy more in a few months when I adjust

I like your philosophy! My husband and I used to love camping and traveling before kids, when the kids cam along we did not stop doing those things, our kids had a great outdoors life filled with wonderful memories, now we have 2 grandchildren and we started them very young in the great outdoors too!
I know friends who after having kids stopped doing all the stuff they did as a couple as it was too much effort, ( their words not mine) they kept saying we will do this n that “when the kids get older”, the kids are young adults/teenagers now and they still don’t go out! Of cause you adjust to your kids and yes it is much more effort to do stuff, but you can’t replace their joy and fun if you just ‘wait until…………

Oh just wait until you have your baby ❤ wait until you see how precious she is and how amazing it is to have a little buddy all the time 😉 wait until they want to buy the plants while you grocery shop, wait till they pick the first strawberry of the season but dont eat it all because they want you to have a bite too, wait until your 4 year old informs your mom (her grandma) not only what spider mites are but that her monstera has them😅 my kids are now almost 6 and 8... Its been such a joy to let them into my established life and hobbies and answer all their questions and curiosities. It builds their confidence so much and then they gravitate to their own hobbies and welcome you in. Family is so fun, each day I am shocked at how much I have been blessed and how magical the mundane is 🩷

I would love to try the delatank for cymbidiums (orchids), unfortunately I live in Europe 😅 That would work.
Cymbidiums are similar to anthuriums, when it comes to the media requirements. Might not use it as a sole media for Chinese cymbidiums. The hybrids are another subject and that could work. Plus it depends on the environment. 😊

I found out I was allergic to cats and dogs…I have a cat and a dog that I now take care of that was my mom’s (she has dementia and can’t care for her anymore). Oh well, it’s too late, but I change my HVAC filter monthly, use my lint brush on everything, have an air purifier and pray lol.
It’s too late to unlove these little ones, so I’m glad you don’t have any. It would be tough. Funny enough they are not interested in any of my plants that are not pet friendly. If they don’t smell like some type of food, they walk away. 😊

I can't believe someone would be so negative as to tell you "oh, just wait till your baby comes, you won't have time for your plants". OH PLS, That's so negative. Your baby will only be a baby for a short while. It's a precious fleeting time. Focus on how neat it will be to have a son or daughter. Think of all the vacations and holidays you'll spend together and the memories you'll share with them.
