I remember when the type 59 was it's best at being a harrier, goinf in with other meds to distract heavies so your own heavies could take them out. Now, only playable as a hull down camper.
Type 59 is a premium tank so you play it for crew training but mostly for gaining credits. The pen. is so awful you need to spam gold so it just gets so useless. The type 59 I got back in the day but it's so power crept and obsolete.
Its nice having these as seperate tanks for collectors because it means, if the original version was hard to get like a limited time, in certain event etc that doesn't get pooped on like with the mutant and PZ II J. Thery were really hard to get and really rare but then got shat out again for anyone to buy at points. Still rare but diminishes the value of being one of ones who got it at time. Giving a seperate tank means people can play the type 59, with a skin, but doesn't diminish people who got the OG (which to memory was still resold at some point but oh well)
It's obviously not aimed at players that already have type 59, it's for those that wanted the tank and didn't have a chance to get it before. Judging by how many First Warriors I've seen in Frontline, it's a success for WG.

IMO these copy paste tanks are not bad, but WG is making them bad by how you can get them (usually lootbox filler). So if they put tank like this and only those that are interested in it can easily directly buy it, I am OK with that 😊
It's certainly better than introducing an op tank, but it doesn't mean it's good. It's lazy monetizing and the more wg are allowed to do it the lazier they'll become not that it's the first time they use ctrl c, ctrl v
I have the Type 59 and premium shells are def much better than AP shells. Yes that usually is the case with all tanks but with the Type 59 the premium shells are just a lot better for penetration and velocity. Makes those snap shots so much easier to pull off.

I've always wanted the type 59. This game me the chance to pick it up and I really like it. Re releasing these tanks is corny but not game breaking within reason. I'm fine with it. I'm also fine with buying cosmetic items - it's the correct way to do f2p so long as I get the opportunity to buy the tank as well.

Type 59 was so broken back in its prime you could do yolo scout runs and often get away either mostly/totally unharmed or with buttloads of spot damage.

If you did, you would remember the 'model changes' which totally changed it's effective hull armor and even made that turret easier to pen. The gun changes were also a nerf imo, on the move accuracy with the old gun was way way better. Yes, copy-paste, but creativity-wise they did worse a long time ago when they did T-34 Black and IS-6 Black back around Black Friday in 2015 (iirc). And what's worst: Back then I was such an obsessive collector and whale that for a short while I was actually a bit tempted to buy themeven though I had both tanks in the normal form. -_-
Pref mm is double edged blade. You get +1 battles max, but your pen is sh*ty. So I wouldn't say pref is advantage. Anyways, WG still trying to dwell on legend of this tank which is way long outdated. It was good 7 years ago. Now it's old Mike Tyson.

I would say WG your behind the curve on what definition of what NEW CONTENT is to extend the brand new. Nobody wants that crap. How about worry about making some new maps that we have been asking for an entire decade of my life.

This tank has preferential matchmaking, so it will only meet tanks 1 tier higher and lower, so this tank will meet tier 6 to tier 9
