why did you create a username on the switch? it should be only an the AAA!!! i

So when TACACS is unavailable it will fail over to the local username otherwise you won't be able to log into the switch! Don't want to lock yourself out if your TACACS server is dead or unavailable do you?

@@angushorlock7776 u use the same username and password for local and tacacs and try to change the credential in tacacs, u will see it wont work :)
