Not just you. I love look of components , both graphic cards and motherboards of the past. late 90's and early 2000. Also boxes from graphic cards and motherboards.
What is weird, new generation finds them "ugly". Even on Linus Tech Tips, when they do something old, they mention it "of course, it is ugly". Because they are not black, and full of strange gimmicks and LED stuff. But to be honest, I find new components weird and ugly looking, same computers from new generation. I was even very much disapointed, when I've found out, when I've tried to upgrade, that all motherboards looks ugly from like 2015 and newer. Even Gigabyte stopped to make their nice blue and white colored old fashioned motherboards around Z77 chipset (3rd gen of core). I'm so sad, no company stayed to make motherboards in old colors and design. I have feeling, last was Gigabyte, till Haswell., that used old design. Now, all motherboards look, like they were thrown into soot chimney. Ugly, dirty, disgusting, without the color and "component"feeling. And they are even "presenting them" with transparent cases... unbelievable.

When I was raytracing old nvidia demos one of them called "Island" when I went into the debug mode to see objectively what the shader was treating and only in the scene, nvidia was already using raytracing and I could see its effects in the debug mode without even enabling my own.
In the one with medusa they also straight up tell you in the information with the demo itself.
Geforce 400 and 200 series respectively.
I dont doubt a 8800 ultra could do it. Just keep the memory usage and resolution in check and it should be fine. Obviously only in games that are older than something like crysis or its going to have zero extra rendering headroom to do anything interesting with it.
To be honest with you I dont even know if the reshade effects will work outside windows 10. They might. Everything I do is like Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park put it life finding a way as long as its always in windows 10 simply because thats what people actually have.

It seems to me that the farther we go back into the past, and look at how things was built or manufactured. The further we go into the past, looks was always very important and everything man made in the past always had a better look or was better to look at than things are today!! It seems today that we have given up on the esthetics of items and care only for the actual function. I am sure money and how much the manufacturing process cost for a item is always the bottom line. But I still wish manufactures would go back to giving our consumer items the cool looks that they used to!!

I got a tip for you, for the cards with scrambled graphics.
Maybe you think I'm joking with you, I am not.
Remove the fans, and coolers that cover much of the card.
Then you take the card to the kitchen sink, put on some dish soap, and water, then you wash it with a soft brush.
After you have washed both sides, use a lot of water to make sure all the soap are gone.
Then you dry it, and let the card dry, so you are sure all the water have dried up.
Maybe let it dry for 24-48 hours.
Then reassemble it, and try again.
And NO I am not joking with you, I have done this many times, and I gotten the thing to work.
