Netflix kinda butchered The Last Airbender, huh?

  • So Netflix did a pretty bad job... This version of The Last Airbender is definitely better than Shyamalan's, but it still leaves a lot to be desired.

They definitely kneecapped the writing. It monologues so much that the dialogue and character writing ends up falling flat.

Totally agree with you, the Nextflix version adds violence as if that's all it takes to mature a show. The original cartoon has so much more depth and nuance to the characters... The live action writing and dialogue is way more juvenile

yeah I hate the whole idea of "violence makes it for adults" because it's a really juvenile way to think of "mature" stories

I genuinely don’t understand the artistic purpose of a live action ATLA. There was no way they were going to improved such a nostalgic and beloved show as atla. There’s so much content in the comics they could have adapted instead to tell a new story that would have benefited from a live action adaptation for an older audience.

They absolutely butchered it, and it infuriates me.
