I promise I'm not trying to do you in. Yes, Cora is doing the beatboxing and Kaedi is doing the bass. They are beautiful and talented. Hope to see more of their music on your channel. FYI Scott from Pentatonix discovered these incredible women.
Not sure if you noticed it in the credits, but Scott from PTX co-arranged this along with Ben Bram (longtime co arranger for all PTX music as well - and often called the 6th member of PTX). Scott and Ben (along with a few other people) co-founded Citizen Queen - it's just one of Scotts many projects. He also co-founded another a capella group called "Acapop! Kids" (big group of kids doing a capella covers), he has a podcast, is doing voice acting, is writing a broadway musical, writing and recording music with a bunch of different people (possibly for a solo album?)... oh and of course PTX. That man is a creative genius with the talent, ambition and drive to match.
You can also check out their version of Never Enough. They are opening for PTX and are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Thanks for reacting to them
@@TheTroygarg I think Y and No Ego are the last ones they did a video to. As they are opening for Pentatonix right now, they are probably too busy to do new ones
@@TheTroygarg Late last year Citizen Queen released a beautiful video for "Killing Me Softly". Link: ruclips.net/video/7BJpJSUGTEU/видео.html. Last month they posted 2 performance videos of performances from their digital concert for "Call Me Queen" and "Y". There are others available to be searched.
Scott Hoping discovered them and is their manager. Scott is also going to be doing a song with them. They hang out at his house all the time. The beatboxer also does skits with Kevin
Kaedi- the girl who’s tone you liked is the bass. Cora- white crop top is the beatboxer. She also has an amazing voice Hannah- blonde wear Jean bra/top thing has recently left the group Nina- wearing the jumpsuit with shorts Kaylah- wear the jumpsuit with long pants Scott Hoying helped put this group together to originally be a girl group version on pentatonix but they have moved away from a cappella in their original music. Hope you continue to react to them in the future:)
Yep, Kaedi is the bass (and she's awesome!). The girl in the blue shorts, white top, with pigtails is doing the beatboxing. They're the "Meat & Potatoes" of CQ.
I'm glad you are reacting to Citizen Queen now! They are all very talented. Unfortunately Hannah (the blond girl) left the group amicably just a couple of weeks ago, but the others are continuing on as a 4 person group. As quite a few people have mentioned, Scott from PTX helped put CQ together and he is still very involved with them, like a father/older brother figure. At this point he's practically an unofficial member, they hang out at his house a lot and he pops up in their Tiktoks all the time. Cora, the beat boxer, is ridiculously incredible. Everytime CQ makes a Tiktok with Cora showing off her beat boxing it goes viral, and for good reason. I really hope you react to their cover of Never Enough, it's the best cover of it I've ever heard and it gives constant chills.
I hope they are able to find a fifth. Losing Hannah will leave a hole in the vocals. They can go on, but it would be so much better if they find someone. I'm sure that someone who has come through the Acapella Academy that would work.
@@RollingDutchmann Yes, I understand that Hannah's leave was a friendly departure. My comment was only regarding the sound of vocals with an acapella group.
🌟👉This group is Scott Hoying's of PTX brainchild. He co-founded this group along with Ben Bram (PTX arranger) and Shams Ahmed. Scott also co-founded Acapop Kids! 100% kids 100% A Capella I recommend Bohemian Rhapsody/Somebody To Love by Acapop.
These ladies are killing it! Hearing tunes by En Vogue, TLC, etc ... whew those ladies were my jam back in the day... this was so good! That young lady singing in that rich bass... whoa... yummy! Wish they would have put the beatboxer a little more front & center because she was slaying it too.
Yay! Citizen Queen! These ladies are legit, confident queens for sure. So talented. You should check out their covers of “Bad Guy” and “Senorita”. Great reaction! 😁
Welcome to your first all female A Capella group. Though in this case the larger woman is the bass it doesn't have to be that way. Brigham Young University or BYU has an all female A Capella group called BYU Noteworthy, based on the all male A Capella group called BYU Vocal Point. Both groups always have a beat-boxer and a bass, though members change as students graduate. But you can never tell just by appearances which are the beat-boxer and which is the bass. Being a religious based school they both do a lot of religious songs, but they do many secular songs as well. For BYU Noteworthy my favorite is "Amazing Grace", the best version in my opinion, but this morning they released an Olivia Rodrigo mashup. For BYU Vocal Point I recommend "Beauty And The Beast Medley" featuring Lexi Walker.
Women definitely can have lower voices! I really like Kaedi’s voice a lot. If I had been in chorus in school, I might have developed my lower register more and maybe could have matched her register. I was in one musical in high school, and in our first singing rehearsal with the director, he had us start out with warm-up exercises. Since I was a band person and not chorus, I had no idea what I was doing, but just went along with everyone else. We were doing “ah-mi-ah-mi-ohs” up and then down. I had to drop out pretty early on the way up, but continued on after everyone else had dropped out on the way back down. Finally, just before I was reaching the bottom of my range, the director stopped playing the piano, turned to stare at me, and said, “How far down can you go?!!” I’ve lost that lower range as I’ve aged, sadly.
Cora (little one in white) does the beatboxing and Kaedi (deeper voice) does the bass. Like Layne and Geoff in VP essentially lol. Just girl version. Though if you wanna hear Cora do lead and Nina do beatbox, try their Bad Guy cover! But Nina's the soprano, Hannah is a mezzo soprano, and Kaylah is the alto. Though like all good a capella groups, none of them stay in their own lane lol
I mean this in the least hostile way possible, I promise... How can you be so familiar with the dynamics of Pentatonix and yet so baffled by Citizen Queen? I am as baffled by your bafflement as you are baffled by this group. Also, like PTX, I have yet to hear anything by these ladies that doesn't slap. Seriously, check out everything. Though, since you love Kaedi's voice so much, maybe prioritize Killing Me Softly.
Haha, I know right. Not sure what was so confusing. I mean... impressive to have a female bass, for sure. Unusual to see a young tiny girl like Cora beatboxing, yes. But the concept of a beatboxer and a bass in an a cappella group is hardly a new concept, haha.
I literally checked the date of release on this video before I posted my comment to make sure it didn't somehow predate all of his Home Free and PTX vids. I am trying my best not to interpret his reaction as shock that women can be just as talented/able as men... but I'm struggling to see any other interpretation here.
I haven’t really gotten into CQ the way I’ve gotten into PTX, even though they are really pretty with great voices. That being said, last night I found myself dancing like a fool to Killing Me Softly, so I second that recommendstion.
That little gal, Cora, is doing all of the beatboxing. Lol. She’s a beast! 💪 And then the gal whose tone you love is doing all of the bass. Check out “Killing Me Softly” soooooon!

Just like with Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay, the complete rhythm section is accomplished by the beatboxer and the bass vocalist. Even more impressive, the beatboxer (Cora) can sing and do the beats at the same time (React to Dont Call Me Angel).

Saucey Dad is the same age as me. Nice! And yeah, every time I see this medley it's a big flashback the whole time.
