My C2 is from 2004 and has run for 225.000km. After 19 years, it got some rust in the back where the springs sit on the body and in the rear wheel wells. Other than that it is pretty solid. There are a few common weaknesses, i.e. the water pump bracket breaking and those cars with a secondary air pump facing random error codes even though the pump works fine and having to replace the front brakes more often than in some other cars. Other than that the engine (1.4i TU3A) is incredibly reliable and despite being only 73hp, it is fun to drive. Overall it's a great car!
I agree with this video, the most common problem, in the UK anyway, will be rust on the sills, and poor to little service history, other than that they are better cars than people think.
Anyone know how to fix this issue, as soon as I get out and close the door the driver door locks itself, I then have to lock all the doors with the fob , but when I unlock with the fob the drivers door doesn’t open and have to use the key???? Any suggestions thanks
I don't know if this issue is still relevant but it's most likely an issue with the ECU. The central locking system relais acts up when it's broken. However fixing it is quite simple. All you have to do is order a working unit (same model as your ECU), disconnect the relais boards from both ECUs and exchange them. Put your ECU back in and everything should be as it was before except for a working relais board.
I like the cars. Mine is a vtr 1.6 sensodrive 127k however abs light is on, seat belt light is on, anti polution, serv light, gearbox issue. Such a pity once these get to a certain age they go belly up. Not meant to last...

Be sure to AWWOID automatic transmission models.
Is automatic transmission better?
@@awesomeboys5200 No they are known to be unreliable.
The Sensodrive can be problematic too. Full manual or not at all 😊
