Mine is a 2004 1.1 GSI with 60,000 miles on the clock starts and drive perfectly good , only issue so far is that I have a knocking sound coming from left front wheel arch but doesn't do it on full lock , over bumps or normal turning seems to be when changing gear most the time. Thought it was the anti roll bar at first but not that then checked drop links not them either wish bone seems fine as well as tie rod ends . So strange thinking could be top mount but but it's got no signs of that being it . Can anyone help who's had a similar problem?

I'm probably too Dutch to understand, but this video, that is supposed to be about the problems and weak points of the B Class, is almost completely about the good quality of the car. The first time in this video a problem is mentioned is at 2:36, and even then only very briefly and kind of sugarcoated. There is nothing wrong with mentioning the good points of a model, but when the title of the video states that the video is about the week points and common problems of the B Class, why not immediately start mentioning these things? Again: maybe I am too Dutch too understand. We are very direct and we don't dance around things nore sugarcoat things. We believe that nobody benefits from saying A, while meaning B. In many cultures this Dutch way of communicating is seen as rude and inconsiderate (e.g. look at how Brits react to Max Verstappen's press conferences), and I understand that when I try to put myself in the position of someone who is from a very indirect culture. However, although I wouldn't want to go as far as stating that not being direct in communication is just as rude and inconsiderate, it's always good to try to see things from an other person's perspective. Or maybe I will have to acknowledge that East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet.

Plus (additional to headliner failure in all VAGS) MULTIPLE sensor failures, inc. ESP module in ABS (i.e. not merely faults); auxiliary heater very early failure (solder joints?); good you got front severe (inner?) tyre wear where camber (which can't easily be adjusted and most mechs won't even look at) goes way out (and then needs a compromise setting between that and caster? (but change (and upgrade) both control arm bushings at the same time?).... etc...

'Head' or 'Headliner'? Yes they all fail (and drop!); a well known issue and fault with VAG's; that's hard to get anyone to want to replace (too easy to break things removing it?); but DIY'abel if you can get the correct replacement upholstery material and do it right?

I own a mazda 3 year 2003 in 2024, the car for its age has very little rust, mostly visible arround wheel arches, but its such a small detail to me because I can push the car to limits and it doesnt set me up. Obviously the car is very well built. Especially if maintained its great. I only feel a problem with steering wheel, my powersteering is possibly wearing out due to weird sound, but still, this car is amazing for the price I paid (arround 2.2k €\$) - I will eventually possibly update my comment if anyone would make a decission to buy the first gen, first year (probably problematic) mazda, its possible I got a car that was lucky to survive, but hey.. soon its a veteran :)

Okay I have mine for 16 years. Took me from Spain to England and back, no problem. Yes the dual mass flywheel failed but I fitted a single mass flywheel myself cheaply....no problems since. Only worries like in any diesel are injectors but I change my fuel filter at every oil service. So we'll see. It does the job and a change of dampers to German items makes a lot of difference.

I like these - changing stuff is straight-forwards, nothing much is buried or hard to get to & the interior is light & airy. I repair vehicles full time & never dislike working on these. They don't bring on much cursing IMO.

They look good and are capable offroad but reliability is appalling dont get one out of warranty. Nothing compares to german cars reliability and build quality (excluding bmw)

09 3.2 n/a base model. 289,000 miles, (over half a million km?), does not burn oil, shifts good. Trunk latch sticks, I keep meaning to fix it. Blower motor is intermittent, but the a/c is ice cold. There's a hole in the exhaust, but I kind of enjoy the noise at this point. As long as you keep an eye on your tires and brakes in between oil changes, there's a relatively low yearly expense. Almost as care free as a Toyota, Volvo services are less common, so find a good mechanic or be handy. This car has been super comfortable and useful on the road. It still shines when I wash and wax it.

For the brakes, the solution is akebono brake pads, not the big brake akebono brake set up. Oem brake pads but it has to be akebono brand. Even if the rotors are warped, the akebono brake pads fix everything.

The 4N14 2.2 diesel balance shaft/coupler is doomed to fail on these engines and thousands worldwide have failed and are a safety hazard Mitsubishi has failed to recognise. Symptom is a loud rattle when idling and remedy is a shaft/coupler delete.

I have 1.4 diesel 2012. When I roll at 2000rpm, the car/engine starts shaking. I heard it mighty be the EGR/DPF that are loaded, but I checked them and are not. Just cleaned the EGR and the DPF its shown to be 25% loaded. What might cause this behavior?

I have the 1998 1.8L works great no breakdowns.. Just regular maintenance and parts changes it's all is needed.. At 275k km at the moment

My 2011 Prado V6 has 340,000kms still smooth and quiet I change oil / filter every 5000kms

I have an '05 Sorento LX 35.L 2wd auto. This thing has been a nightmare. I know some folks who had to have engines replaced a few times. The ECM failed, the Etac failed twice, the starter, alternator, heater core of course plugs, wires and coils and the wires are major nightmare to route properly. The rear roof light went out a few years and can not locate the so called "diode". The clock has died. Working on one is the most irritating nightmare you can think of. These things are not meant to last at all.

From the Philippines here. I have the 2004 3.2 vr6 petrol engine touareg. It had a lot of issues which I was able to correct. It's a bulky and heavy car. I seldom use it for city driving but it is ideal for long drives in the highway. You feel safe in it.
