This is a cover I did on keyboard of one of my favorites "epics" from Dream Theater, In The Presence Of Enemies (Pt 1 & Pt 2). Jordan Rudess' lines are always a good challenge to play, it's really fun, though.

Hi Joaquín Díaz! Thank you very much for your kind words!! All the videos I have released I used only my Korg M3 indeed, no VSTs. I might do a video in the future showing how I program these sounds, not sure when though but hopefully this year! Hope you enjoy my EP!!!

only 1 patch mistake I would have fixed, the 6.30 sweeping pad is 1 octave too high, that is quite disturbing for the vocal :)
And when you are good enough to do it, why not do the unison at end of part 1 With 1
hand ? :P
Yeah, it's a kind of high filter on the sound in the original, gives the feel of 1 octave down, just small details.

I have this exact model of keyboard. I have no idea how to utilise it to its maximum. I know you haven't uploaded in a while and may not be very active on youtube, but would it be possible if you knew any websites or videos that could help me learn some features of the m3 xpanded? I know most of the basics, but I'm not going to lie, there's so much this keyboard can do that I know I have no idea how to do haha.
Would love to see some future piano and synth works from you, maybe more of some dream theatre or of steven wilsons new album perhaps? :)
+Michael Kasif Hi Michael! Thanks man. Yes, it's been a while, but I'm usually pretty active here. I've been working on some music stuff lately, so I might have something here in the near future. :)
This keyboard is awesome, it has great sounds, but it can be quite complicated to work with indeed, I struggle with it sometimes. I usually make combinations using the preset patches for most of the sounds I use, but sometimes I find myself having to make some patches from scratch. I also have the radias expansion, so a lot of the sounds I use come from it, specially those more "aggressive" synth sounds. I don't really know any tutorials or anything but I guess it's not hard to find some out there. Basically what I have in mind when making sounds is I look for presets that sound as close to what I want as possible, and then if I have to make any tweaks I just search for the parameters that can do what I want, like EGs, filters, LFOs, effects, and stuff like that. That's basically it, I hope that helps!

I was wondering if you could help me with the type of delay that is used at the opening piano/keyboard part of In the Presence of Enemies PT.2 - It sounds like it is some kind of digital delay and perhaps a reverse delay with different delay times and different repeat times, but I can never seem to get that delay effect Jordan uses at the beginning of In the Presence of Enemies PT.2 Can you tell me how I can achieve that delay/reverse delay effect? Thanks again for the great video, you have some awesome skills!
+Jeremy Dixon HI Jeremy. Thanks a lot! I'm not with my keyboard here right now but I think I put two keyboard patches on the combination been one of them with 100% autoreverse effect and a delay right after it, pretty simple. :)

How did you program the sound at 0:12? Any advice on how to do it? Is it a snarling pig type of sound but without an LFO? And all the rest of your sounds? Did you actually programmed them or you managed to find a package for this specific song?

I had the M3, I sold it beacuse i much more prefer the K2661 sounds and synthesis. How You played it, in Program mode? Or in Setup mode with Karma/sound switch, beacuse I do not hear holes during the sound change. Thank You.
StudioMarand Official Thanks! I played using the combinations mode. The moments where I change between sounds I recorded separately to fill the gaps.
