this, world downfall, from enslavement to obliteration are the timeless classics of the genre imo
tons of 'classics' but this and those two will never not apply somewhere in this world
triple comment b/c it's a graveyard chat--this one is clearly "deathgrind" in a time when most bands leaned way into one or the other Assuck managed to make a 'technical' grind sound that didn't just turn into death metal.

I’m 14 first time hearing good stuff.
One of my most treasured vinyls. On original 1991 release brought home from Australia by my former classmate.
I bought an Ampeg because of this band and tried to emulate their guitar tone. Amazing politically charged lyrics. Great time changes and transitions. Solid blast beats. Couldn’t ask for a better band.
I had the 1x12 Ampeg SS70 Version, it can definitely do the early 90s Death Metal extremely well.

Excellent band, one of best to rise form grindcore. Also, one who tackled their lyrical topics really well. Assück have left their mark on extreme music, and will be remembered and treasured.
Never released anything bad either. Hopefully they never reform and taint their awesome legacy

This album and their follow up PUMMELS. No other band I've ever heard has that effect on drums. Lyrics are awesome too.
Im not a grind fan but theres no way i can hate this theres alot of intricate playing on this and alot of groove and aggression

@@joshmunn3444 True, but think about it: Without old school grind bands like Assuck, Napalm Death, Repulsion, etc. leading the way, newer bands might not have been able to take what those bands were doing and evolve from there and go more extreme. Black Sabbath started heavy metal ( in my opinion), and then bands like Metallica,Anthrax, Slayer etc. came along and took it one step further. I give credit to the pioneers👍

Still have my Misery Index shirt from when I caught them on tour when I was 15 or 16. Rob Proctor was not a drummer anybody wanted to stand behind, hot damn. Don't think grind has been topped by anybody else to this day. The Hemdale side of their split with Exhumed is pretty close, but this is music you should kill for with ideals worth killing for

Why this hasn’t been reissued is a mystery to me. This was originally released on Sound Pollution I think.
One guitar no bass sounds like a 5 piece a truly vicious album when powerviolence ruled the airways

That’s why I prefer Misery Index to this album. This album is still incredible of course but I always wished it had at least some bass in there

I've had this in playing my rotation ever since I was given a blank cassette of this with the Blindspot e.p. in the early 90's. There is no other band I have listened to more than Assück! And the very recent Alphanumeric stuff is really good as well!

Harmony Corruption to be precise - it's the same Morrisound production. I don't like it personally, but both albums are legendary and great, no doubt about that. To me grindcore has totally different sound, this is too metallic. Even Barney from Napalm agrees in hindsight.

Got to see these guys at a punk squat. Byob show...it was fuckin bad ass. They stood in a circle and just blasted out. One of the best shows I've seen. I dont even think there was a P.A. just DIY bliss

I found this band when I picked up the bloodless unreality 7" had no fucking clue about the bands on it, not disappointed, Assuck stood out among all the bands.
The whole album is really good.

Still searching to this day for a deathgrind album comparable in quality to this one...All of the grind from today sounds too digital (especially the really artificial sounding drums) with forgettable riffs and songwriting
Have you listened to Pig Destroyer, Wormrot, Cloud Rat, or Full of Hell? Those are "modern" grind bands that (in my opinion) are the best. Also, other "modern" bands like Nails, Cult Leader, and Gatecreeper, while not strictly grindcore, still have dirty, messy, and gross sounding production
