You’re not alone…I went for my first swim in a tail today and chipped my tooth quite badly on the bottom of the pool. It could have been a lot worse, but I’m still beating myself up about it. Stay in deep water Mers, the shallow end is trouble!
I've done the same thing! I got so overexcited about swimming in a tail for the first time in a while that I went too fast and scraped off my front tooth.. every day is a reminder haha
Oh dear. You really had me worried. Something like that can be so embarrassing, but just to ease your mind, any seamstress who has picked up a needle and thread has had that same thing happen in one way or another. Just remember measure twice cut once. It’s not the end of the world. We’ve all been there. Zelda is a really cool fish, and she has had worse tail tragedies. It looked like you had a fabulous day despite that. Your tails are beautiful. Keep up the good work. 🧜♀️

I was seriously considering not watching the rest of the video bc it was so anxiety-inducing to have to wait till the end to learn what happened. I thought something happened to your dog, or to you, or to someone, or to the car.
I feel for you, it must have been really hard on you, bit I didn't enjoy the format of this video too much bc I was worried. Couldn't even enjoy the swim properly. I guess that's on me, bc I wasn't at the premiere, so I could have just skipped ahead.

Sounds like you handled it like a pro. I had a similar situation when I was hand delivering someone's Oggles for CAMerCon. I had used a new paint and it had flaked off in one part. I was dead 💀 but she swam in them the first day and then I was able to fix them and get them right back to her before we left town.

I did a flip in my tail one time and I got two muscle cramps in both calves while I was upside down and then I got a ton of water up my nose, long story short I got to the surface and swam to the edge of the pool choking on water with cramped legs. My friend saw my distress and helped me and told me to stretch and I was lot better after

You never learn if you don’t make mistakes to learn from. Sometimes it is the simplest mistakes you learn the most from :). You always make great tails. Keep up the great work.

I feel this embarrassment, I do make costumes and had all types of parts get loose or even fall off, the worst one was a tail, it broke and I’m sure some children were traumatised. :/

When I saw the title I thought a mermaid in the community did something or worst
The worst thing... someone drowned?
This kind of almost stepped into clickbait territory. I'm sorry you had such an embarrasing moment. As a creator, we've all been there. Although, when you read the title of this video, you truely think and believe "the WORST" really did happen, (i.e. someone broke a limb(s), or worse, accidentally drowned), while mer-swimming. I'm glad nothing THAT bad happened! But, the threats of total disaster did come to mind, though... Embarassment still sucks. 😳🤤😞
For me it was the worst. I wasn't going for clickbait, sorry you feel that way. I was devastated and I feel like the title accurately reflects that. Titles that get clicks is part of the job. :)
