This is what my friend told me -
after 50 years of investment I am kicked out of Brunei. Like so many other foreigners. My children nor my grandchildren are allowed to inherit what I built this 50 years. Nor do they allow citizenship as I have chosen the green IC . The citizen are so used to donations. Working seems to be like a donation without much work. Under Brunei law 1 day of work the company has to pay $57.50 per month excluding salary. Majority don't work more than 2 weeks. They come as they pleases without any application. Importation of goods are limited for foreigners and so are high cost to exports. Up till today, majority are still in standby mode to work in petroleum company or any gov sectors. Always expecting the gov privilege from foreign companies. After covid its became worsts as Brunei is limiting major foreign workpass. And today he is in his sick bed and still at work to sign out all the documents for close down
