The danish figurines were designed by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen (1874-1960). He started working as a sculpture for Bing & Grøndahl at the age of 23. He worked for them for 30 years. When he was 51 (1925) he started his own factory known as Dahl-Jensen. The factory closed in 1985. He is especially prized for his lifelike animal sculptures. I love the Daulton plates. I wouldn’t have been able to leave them behind either.
Glad you picked up the Doulton plate. I was watching on the TV and saying, you have to get that. As if you could here me, lol. Everything at the shop was very nice.
Morning Lady Mary Beth, love this store ,the smal elephants are so cute .i loved the blue bowl on top with the bird on it sitting on top of the tall delft vase .Always love coming around with you .Have a good week much lv Ann 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wish that we had a similar store here! We have nothing like it. I love the Doulton plates I have several inherited and purchased pieces and I know it’s strange but I like the feel of it! I love watching your videos!
Such quality finds. Loving all the blue and white. Those Chinese garden stools are sometimes used in Asia for ladies to stand their handbags instead of putting them on the floor in smart restaurants. X
Outwardly the store looks quite small but as you showcased the pieces, the store began to seem larger and well stocked with desirable pieces like the glassware.
Loved the milk glass! I am always interested in blue and white, milk glass, pink depression glass and Blendo glass/barware. I keep my collections small but I had to clear off bookshelves to display my milk glass lol
My husband (at the time, in the 80's) gifted me the "Only The Best" book and, as I too consider gift giving an artform, I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the stories within. I thought you might have purchased it; I don't think you'd be disappointed. I still love looking through it and rereading the sentimental stories.❤
I love the Beleek pieces. I only have one piece of Beleek that I bought new about 25 years ago. Do you ever see any wood handled silverware on your antiquing treks? I would love to find a nice set.
FYI. I believe newer Nambe pieces are now made in China. The pieces are also lighter in weight. It used to be Nambe would polish your piece for a % of the original cost (was it 25%?) but now the cost is much higher. 😢
Thanks!
Diane, huge thanks for your generosity! This means so much. Will think of you when I enjoy tea and a pastry after a long film day.
So nice and relaxing to watch your Videos. I could spend all day in the places you visit and I love the items you purchase. Thank you very much.
Me too!

I'm so happy for you and those beautiful Daulton Plates! I've been looking for a banana boat so I can put roses in it.

@@chrissiewalker8980 Good to know of this alternate use. This may start a new stateside trend with elevating handbags. 👜

A lovely visit! Excellent purchase! ❤
The Doultan plates are exquisite! They look more modern and not over 100 years old!

Good point on the lighter weight. I notice this with made in China Wilton Armetale pieces.
The needlepoint is stunning. A true bargain for someone to treasure. Just sad to see all the art, skill, and framing for such a low price.
Are you in Houston?
I am Houston-based, and this shop is in the Bellaire area of Houston.
Peaches and……?!!!!!
Just outstanding items!! The Daulton plates were exceptional!! Thank You!!
What a lovely shop! 😍
