Around '90 I was going to college and working in a video rental store. My grandmother called up and asked me to rent something for her and some in-laws that were staying the weekend with her. I brought her The Princess Bride. The next day I showed up and these three retired old people were still just overflowing with the movie. My grandmother said,"Can we get something else that is like that?" I just smiled and said there wasn't anything else like it.
For so many reasons, The Princess Bride is, in my humble opinion, the best movie ever made. And it is very telling that the cast still feels a strong bond with each other, and that they all clearly feel very fortunate to have been a part of the amazing phenomenon that is The Princess Bride. And God bless Andre the Giant, may he rest in peace. If any one of those characters had been played by someone else, the magic almost certainly would not have happened.
Without doubt one of the best films ever made. Mandy Patinkin tearing up at the end when describing the first time he saw a semi finished version of the film sort of sums it up. I hope those of you who watched it as kids enjoy watching it with your children.
At 16, I was flying home alone from the Minneapolis airport when Andre dove by on a very lopsided golfcart. It was 1988. I stopped and asked myself "Was that really...?" But before I finished my question, I had already told myself, "Who else could it have been?"

i love this movie, it is in my top 5, when they were talking about Andre, all i could do is smile i never met the man, i wish i had but everytime i hear some one talk about him i smile cause he just seemed like he had the most gentle and caring spirit, "don't worry, i'll take care of you" i could even hear his voice saying it...
The scene where he says he wants his father back --- that scene --- I've never seen another actor say something with such emotional conviction. Truly unmatched . . . that scene.
The Oriental Theater in Milwaukee had a reshowing around the time this special was made. It had the creator's son doing a presentation of it, some Q & A, and a few of the SFX guys. Was a fun time. Needless to say the theater went apeshit when Inigo demanded his father back.
There has been talk of a remake for years. When asked his opinion on a remake, Cary Elwes said this ... _"There is a shortage of perfect films in the world. T'would be a pity to damage this one."_ ... Pure Westley ❤️
Of all the movies ever made, this one is, without a doubt, the most timeless! People will be watching it and loving it long after every cast member has passed away. How can you not love this movie?? It is the very best date movie because it doesn't matter how many times either of you have seen it. NOBODY passes up a chance to rewatch The Princess Bride. It is just absolutely perfect the way it was cast and the way it was written. I love these cast memories of the movie! I think my favorite bit of trivia about the movie is how it is basically the story of how William Goldman came up with the story. There is a book like the one the grandfather was reading. Goldman said that his grandfather would tell him this story and he loved it. One day he found the book and was excited to read it and relive the memories, but found the book was not really like the story his grandfather had told him. Turns out his grandfather wasn't really reading it to him. He was just holding the book as a prop and telling him 'about' the story instead of reading it. I've read the book and it is definitely not the same as the movie. His grandfather had cut out all the boring political parts and basically just told him the best parts. I don't remember where I read that at, but I've always liked it. I hope it is true because that is amazing. It's a movie based on the memory of a boy recalling a cherished memory of a very kind grandfather. It inspired me in many of the things I did with my kids when they were little. I doubt any of them will grow up and make a movie about the stories I told them, but I am looking forward to telling their kids the same stories and hopefully creating memories for them as well.

The funny thing is that Goldman's story about "the good parts" is itself a work of fiction! There was no S. Morgenstern, no long, boring chapters about the political history of made-up countries, no grandfather editing in real time. It's all from Goldman's imagination!
I'm 72. I grew up watching swashbuckler movies from the Errol Flynn/Tyrone Power/Basil Rathbone era, through the Burt Lancaster/Stewart Granger era and on into Star Wars and Indiana Jones era...and "The Princess Bride" hit me not only as a masterwork in its own right, but as an homage to all the movies that came before and after. On a fantasy level, it worked as well. And on romance and comedy. It was like ordering a cheese pizza and getting a ten course meal with a special wine with each course. I got the story and the fantasy and the jokes all at once. I took my son, born in 1982 to watch it with me in the theater when it first came out. Then I watched it with him and his younger brother when it first appeared on VHS...wore the tape out. Had it on CD, watch it over and over. And now I'm watching RUclips videos of reunions, first time reaction videos, videos breaking down the fencing scenes. It's a little movie that sort of slipped in...and then enchanted everyone who saw it. The characters are forever young and immortal (Andre, we miss you.) And I still watch it pretty much every year. It's just perfect.
I saw the movie so many times, I sort of had to step away from it for a time; then I discovered William Goldman's novel. It's hilarious ( even the introduction ). For instance, the story tells how Humperdinck's intended marriage to a noblewoman was derailed, and how the kingdoms, enjoying peaceful relations, were basically on a war footing within minutes. It also goes into detail of the greatest recorded kisses pre Buttercup and Westley, including the inventors' names .
when the cast did a reading of the screenplay during the pandemic, Mandy had the Six-Fingered Sword which he took out during his first scene with Westley. He kissed it, and I fell apart.
My English teacher at a broke-ass inner-city public school was somehow able to talk the admins into letting us watch it in class in '89 or '90. We were some bad kids, we cut up in that class all the time, but I'm telling you it was dead silent for those two periods when we watched it. Everybody was glued to the screen.
What I really like about this movie (besides the rest of the movie which I also really really like) is the respect the adversaries have for each other. When Inigo swears on the soul of his father that Wesley will reach the top alive, gets me into tears. And when he beats Inigo in sword fight but holds him in too high respect and only knocks him unconscious, that makes it a really great movie.
Chivalry is my favorite word. It exists in wistful stories like The Princess Bride and emerges on rare occasion in real life. The anecdote of Andre comforting Wally is a touching example that will stick with me.
Two lines early in the movie told me that this was going to be something special; the one you mention about Inigo swearing to Westley, and when Westly said to Buttercup: "this is true love. Do you think this happens every day?"
Mandy really seems like a beautiful human being. I loved him in this movie SO much, probably my favorite character! Usually actors hate being a part of a well known movie because it might type cast them. But to hear someone with such emotion about being a part of such a wonderful movie really shows what a great man he is to recognize what a privilege he had to be a part of it. Amazing.
His acting part has to be my favorite in that movie, and that’s so hard to say because literally everyone involved played their parts so perfectly. But inigo… He felt so REAL. Mandy made him so personal and so messy and impatient and broken and human, and in these interviews, it makes it so clear that its because this movie was the experience of a lifetime for him, and not only that, but the inspiration he used for Inigo’s duel with Rugen was imagining he was fighting the cancer that killed his own father. Like. Damn dude.
Was, RIP. I loved his novels, and I got a chance to speak with him one time and he told me that he really didn't think his novels were very good at all. Now, when you judge them and measure them against his screenplays, I agree. However I can say with no equivocation that I became a writer because of The Color Of Light, and I told him that. And he looked at me and said, good luck. Now I write screenplays😂

This movie gets so much better every time you watch it. The artistry isn't as evident at first, but when you take the time to look deeply, it comes alive in a way few films have.
It would be a good remake if Rob Reiner was the director. Still it's a classic 80's style movie. I miss the good old days when movies were simple and clean.

One of my family's favorite movies EVER. We still quote the movie lines randomly throughout life. "No more rhyming now, I mean it!" - "Anybody wanna peanut?" Yep. This movie is definitely a classic!
It is an honour to be born at a time when I was a young teenager when this movie came out. Loved it then, adore it now. It is in the top ten movies of all time next to Star Wars. What a wonderful life.

I have always maintained that this movie is the best movie ever made for three or four generations to sit down and watch together. Every age is entertained by this movie. Its hilarious, suspenseful, clever, a little history and so many good messages along the way.
I had just started university in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1987 and this movie was released here (we often got movies here months after their US release). I saw it and fell so hard in love with it. I broke my budget to see it 9 times in the cinema (best way to see it). Naturally, I bought the VHS, then the DVD, then the Bluray. It’s a staple in my collection, and my whole family adores it too!
These interviews make me smile so big. This movie was one of those like the Goonies, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Explorers, Back to the Future, etc that just defined my childhood. I always wanted to believe that the actors enjoyed making a film like this as much as we enjoyed watching it and it's very satisfying to hear how much fun it was to make.
The Labyrinth? SHE CHOSE DOWN! and the air is fresh and fragrant. I used the second line the last time a group of us were in a car, driving past a manured field... No one got it.. sigh. I am surrounded by people who haven't seen star trek, the Labyrinth, the princess bride and so on....10 to 15 years ago I thought that would never happen.These are people in their 20s. I worked at a store where Cary Ewles was a customer. When he came in to pickup a piece of art he'd had framed I told him I owned a copy of this movie but had never watched it. He said "oh, you have to see it". I watched and fell in love with it the next day. It's a treasure alright.
One of the best films I’ve ever watched. It’s perfect. No flaws. No mistakes from Anyone involved. Cast was exceptional. It is an iconic film for all ages everywhere. I’m an XGen, & it still makes me happy inside when I watch it, albeit w/ a bit of melancholy thrown in, for those we’ve lost through the years.
Also one of the most amazing talents ever. Think about her biggest roles: Buttercup, Claire Underwood, and Jen-nay. Three characters that could not possibly be more different and she nailed those roles.

There's a part of me that feels incredibly fortunate to've been a kid when this movie came out (I was 9); to've experienced and come to've loved it as a child rather than at any other age effects one entirely differently than seeing it at any other age. That nostalgic smile that comes to you is the best feeling!

Probably the most versatile movie of all time. All the stars aligned with this film. And the humor and points seem to work equally well with every generation regardless of how the culture changes.
Manny's story about watching an early version of the film was breathtaking. If I were in his shoes I might have a similar reaction. He is right. A flawless performance in a flawless film. That is truly the things only dreams are made of. And when he was recalling the story and you could see how even after all this time the mere thought of that emotion seemed to bring it right back to him ... at that moment I shared a couple of tears of happiness for him myself. No one in that film will ever be forgotten. It was a beautiful expression of what story telling could be.
When they talk about this being a film for the old and you to watch together, it makes me think of The Wizard of Oz. It would be shown on T.V. every year, and the whole family would always watch it.

I saw this when it came out and I saw it like 2000,000 million times and I never ever get tired of it. My son who is now 19 still watches it and laughs and we both still quote things from that movie lol.
Remember watching this back in the day and a few years later. It's probably the best all round film: story and (crucially) actors that brought out the best in themselves and the storyline. One in a million. A real gem for the ages.

I was 16 years old when my friends and I watched this movie by accident in a Saturday evening. We carelessly turned the TV on and started talking about our plans for the night. Needless to say that this movie took us back to the fourth grade watching it. Everything was so interesting! It was like everything we fantasised when kids had just got form right in front of us. This movie isn't a fairy tale. It's "The Fairy Tale" we all dreamed of in our heads and no one had never told it to us before. "I want my father back your son of a bitch!" We insanely screamed at this scene. I'll never forget.
Starting around 7:40, when Mandy Pantikin tells about how his realization that he was\is a key part of this magical film (forever), it shows that he completely understood that he is a major figure in a movie for the ages. The Princess Bride is the 1980s equivalent of the Wizard of Oz, and that is what Mandy comprehended. He could SEE it. I would have wept too!! with amazement and gratitude. The Princess Bride is like True Love, it will always be around.

In the Australian bush, there is a 12 week old schnauzer puppy, sitting on my lap. Her name is Buttercup. And it’s amazing how many people have already responded with lines from the film when they hear her name.

I'm a grandmother, retired, living with my 2 best friends and partners of over 25 years. We quote from this movie nearly daily. And, as is mentioned in this video, we have shown it to our kids and grandkids who love it. While admittedly, it's apples to oranges, but we did the same thing with Star Wars which we all also grew up loving and the grandkids were bored!? How do you get bored of Star Wars?! Its....inconceivable, yet, it is the Princess Bride which spans generations, despite Star War's impact on our lives being as profound, arguably more profound. This holds true for movies before our time as well such as Casablanca. We also quote from those old black and white films, the musicals, none of them seems to hold the magic for future generations as they do for us. None of them hold much interest to future generations, at least in our case. (Forget "Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Monte Pythons Holy Grail," "Young Frankenstein" and many others. These land with a thud whenever we have tried to share them with younger generations.) That said, we aren't mired in the past and we also quote from (at least more) modern classics as, "The little mermaid," "Lion King," "Toy story," and even "Akira." I just realized that these last 4 are all animations.....Not sure if that's significant, but its interesting...... Then you have movies like, "The Matrix" which are a bit heady for younger people who lose the underlying philosophical underpinnings and so these movies are just CGI and too soon they become dated, and uninteresting to younger adults. The magic of the Princess Bride is somehow enduring and despite a bucketful of degrees, a fair bit of intelligence, wide and world-spanning life experience, along with other gifts, long discussions on this very topic among ourselves, what that magic is and why it appears to be so universal remains elusive. Someone should do a Doctoral Dissertation on this phenomenon..... .
They definitely caught lightning in a bottle when they made this movie. It was a product of the times and the amazing talent and dedication of the cast and crew. I doubt a movie with as much charm will ever be made again, especially in the current dark times.
Very very nice. Like others, I was touched by Mandy's emotion (OK, I admit, I teared up, too). I have loved this movie from the day it was released, watched it many times. My children practically know every line by heart. Heart, there's a relevant word.
Goes down as one the Greatest movies of all time. It can never be touched as a remake, sequel or prequel. We lost a true Hero when Andre passed away. They don't make them like that anymore. He was once in a lifetime. More than a lifetime. Need to stop. Sorry everyone. We all miss you Andre.

This is one of those timeless movies. There are a lot of great movies, but not many of them are timeless. I watched it when I was a kid, and now I watch it with my kids. And it's jus as amazing now as it was then.
This was and is a delightful movie if there ever was one. I have seen this movie at least five times and have the DVD and Blu-Ray. I wish I every time I seen the movie it was my first time again. I see it about every six years.

When i worked at summer camp in the usa few years ago we found it was playing at a drive in theatre. that was great fun to see on a big screen
The Oriental Theater in Milwaukee had a reshowing around the time this special was made. It had the creator's son doing a presentation of it, some Q & A, and a few of the SFX guys. Was a fun time. Needless to say the theater went apeshit when Inigo demanded his father back.

Of all the movies ever made, this one is, without a doubt, the most timeless! People will be watching it and loving it long after every cast member has passed away. How can you not love this movie?? It is the very best date movie because it doesn't matter how many times either of you have seen it. NOBODY passes up a chance to rewatch The Princess Bride. It is just absolutely perfect the way it was cast and the way it was written. I love these cast memories of the movie!
I think my favorite bit of trivia about the movie is how it is basically the story of how William Goldman came up with the story. There is a book like the one the grandfather was reading. Goldman said that his grandfather would tell him this story and he loved it. One day he found the book and was excited to read it and relive the memories, but found the book was not really like the story his grandfather had told him. Turns out his grandfather wasn't really reading it to him. He was just holding the book as a prop and telling him 'about' the story instead of reading it. I've read the book and it is definitely not the same as the movie. His grandfather had cut out all the boring political parts and basically just told him the best parts. I don't remember where I read that at, but I've always liked it. I hope it is true because that is amazing. It's a movie based on the memory of a boy recalling a cherished memory of a very kind grandfather. It inspired me in many of the things I did with my kids when they were little. I doubt any of them will grow up and make a movie about the stories I told them, but I am looking forward to telling their kids the same stories and hopefully creating memories for them as well.

The funny thing is that Goldman's story about "the good parts" is itself a work of fiction! There was no S. Morgenstern, no long, boring chapters about the political history of made-up countries, no grandfather editing in real time. It's all from Goldman's imagination!
The Princess Bride is so much more than a movie, it is a gift to be treasured.
I'm 72. I grew up watching swashbuckler movies from the Errol Flynn/Tyrone Power/Basil Rathbone era, through the Burt Lancaster/Stewart Granger era and on into Star Wars and Indiana Jones era...and "The Princess Bride" hit me not only as a masterwork in its own right, but as an homage to all the movies that came before and after. On a fantasy level, it worked as well. And on romance and comedy. It was like ordering a cheese pizza and getting a ten course meal with a special wine with each course. I got the story and the fantasy and the jokes all at once. I took my son, born in 1982 to watch it with me in the theater when it first came out. Then I watched it with him and his younger brother when it first appeared on VHS...wore the tape out. Had it on CD, watch it over and over. And now I'm watching RUclips videos of reunions, first time reaction videos, videos breaking down the fencing scenes. It's a little movie that sort of slipped in...and then enchanted everyone who saw it. The characters are forever young and immortal (Andre, we miss you.) And I still watch it pretty much every year. It's just perfect.
What a great description, ordering cheese pizza and getting a gourmet 10 course meal with specialty wines. Brilliant!
I saw the movie so many times, I sort of had to step away from it for a time; then I discovered William Goldman's novel. It's hilarious ( even the introduction ). For instance, the story tells how Humperdinck's intended marriage to a noblewoman was derailed, and how the kingdoms, enjoying peaceful relations, were basically on a war footing within minutes. It also goes into detail of the greatest recorded kisses pre Buttercup and Westley, including the inventors' names .
The Princess Bride is as close to a perfect movie as I have ever seen. I have loved and will love this movie for as long as I live.
Wow, Mandy is so genuine. I teared up at the end when he was speaking. He is so appreciative of what he has. Something to aspire to.
I think its priceless (and probably humbling)that his achievement & memory will go on for generations and generations as a very loved character.

when the cast did a reading of the screenplay during the pandemic, Mandy had the Six-Fingered Sword which he took out during his first scene with Westley. He kissed it, and I fell apart.

My English teacher at a broke-ass inner-city public school was somehow able to talk the admins into letting us watch it in class in '89 or '90. We were some bad kids, we cut up in that class all the time, but I'm telling you it was dead silent for those two periods when we watched it. Everybody was glued to the screen.

It's a timeless movie. So it doesn't really matter when you see it for the first time.
What I really like about this movie (besides the rest of the movie which I also really really like) is the respect the adversaries have for each other. When Inigo swears on the soul of his father that Wesley will reach the top alive, gets me into tears. And when he beats Inigo in sword fight but holds him in too high respect and only knocks him unconscious, that makes it a really great movie.
Chivalry is my favorite word. It exists in wistful stories like The Princess Bride and emerges on rare occasion in real life. The anecdote of Andre comforting Wally is a touching example that will stick with me.
Two lines early in the movie told me that this was going to be something special; the one you mention about Inigo swearing to Westley, and when Westly said to Buttercup: "this is true love. Do you think this happens every day?"
Mandy really seems like a beautiful human being. I loved him in this movie SO much, probably my favorite character! Usually actors hate being a part of a well known movie because it might type cast them. But to hear someone with such emotion about being a part of such a wonderful movie really shows what a great man he is to recognize what a privilege he had to be a part of it. Amazing.
His acting part has to be my favorite in that movie, and that’s so hard to say because literally everyone involved played their parts so perfectly. But inigo… He felt so REAL. Mandy made him so personal and so messy and impatient and broken and human, and in these interviews, it makes it so clear that its because this movie was the experience of a lifetime for him, and not only that, but the inspiration he used for Inigo’s duel with Rugen was imagining he was fighting the cancer that killed his own father. Like. Damn dude.

Was, RIP. I loved his novels, and I got a chance to speak with him one time and he told me that he really didn't think his novels were very good at all. Now, when you judge them and measure them against his screenplays, I agree. However I can say with no equivocation that I became a writer because of The Color Of Light, and I told him that. And he looked at me and said, good luck. Now I write screenplays😂

This movie gets so much better every time you watch it. The artistry isn't as evident at first, but when you take the time to look deeply, it comes alive in a way few films have.

There is a terribly unique accumulation of talents in this picture. It’s an absolute classic and almost everyone who made is not only from disparate worlds in entertainment but are also all known for other things and in many ways all sort of peaking in their respective fields at the time of this film.

The Princess Bride has been my "desert island film" since seeing it in the theater when it came out. My daughter was born in April of that year ("88) and it's one of her favorite films, too. It's perfect and timeless.

I have always maintained that this movie is the best movie ever made for three or four generations to sit down and watch together. Every age is entertained by this movie. Its hilarious, suspenseful, clever, a little history and so many good messages along the way.

The chemistry and connection and comradery of the cast and crew in this movie, was like no other.
I had just started university in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1987 and this movie was released here (we often got movies here months after their US release). I saw it and fell so hard in love with it. I broke my budget to see it 9 times in the cinema (best way to see it). Naturally, I bought the VHS, then the DVD, then the Bluray. It’s a staple in my collection, and my whole family adores it too!
Exactly same story for me! 1987! University. It burned itself into my soul. Still love every line.
These interviews make me smile so big. This movie was one of those like the Goonies, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Explorers, Back to the Future, etc that just defined my childhood. I always wanted to believe that the actors enjoyed making a film like this as much as we enjoyed watching it and it's very satisfying to hear how much fun it was to make.

I worked at a store where Cary Ewles was a customer. When he came in to pickup a piece of art he'd had framed I told him I owned a copy of this movie but had never watched it. He said "oh, you have to see it". I watched and fell in love with it the next day. It's a treasure alright.

There's a part of me that feels incredibly fortunate to've been a kid when this movie came out (I was 9); to've experienced and come to've loved it as a child rather than at any other age effects one entirely differently than seeing it at any other age. Manny's story about watching an early version of the film was breathtaking. If I were in his shoes I might have a similar reaction. He is right. A flawless performance in a flawless film. That is truly the things only dreams are made of. And when he was recalling the story and you could see how even after all this time the mere thought of that emotion seemed to bring it right back to him ... at that moment I shared a couple of tears of happiness for him myself. No one in that film will ever be forgotten. It was a beautiful expression of what story telling could be.

I saw this when it came out and I saw it like 2000,000 million times and I never ever get tired of it. My son who is now 19 still watches it and laughs and we both still quote things from that movie lol.
Remember watching this back in the day and a few years later. It's probably the best all round film: story and (crucially) actors that brought out the best in themselves and the storyline. One in a million. A real gem for the ages.

I was 16 years old when my friends and I watched this movie by accident in a Saturday evening.
We carelessly turned the TV on and started talking about our plans for the night. Needless to say that this movie took us back to the fourth grade watching it.
Everything was so interesting! It was like everything we fantasised when kids had just got form right in front of us.
This movie isn't a fairy tale. It's "The Fairy Tale" we all dreamed of in our heads and no one had never told it to us before.

Starting around 7:40, when Mandy Pantikin tells about how his realization that he was\is a key part of this magical film (forever), it shows that he completely understood that he is a major figure in a movie for the ages. The Princess Bride is the 1980s equivalent of the Wizard of Oz, and that is what Mandy comprehended. He could SEE it. I would have wept too!! with amazement and gratitude. The Princess Bride is like True Love, it will always be around.

In the Australian bush, there is a 12 week old schnauzer puppy, sitting on my lap. Her name is Buttercup. And it’s amazing how many people have already responded with lines from the film when they hear her name.

75 and still one of my favorite movies... I have no idea who the " target " audience was supposed to be but it certainly wasn't only kids..
I'm a grandmother, retired, living with my 2 best friends and partners of over 25 years. We quote from this movie nearly daily. And, as is mentioned in this video, we have shown it to our kids and grandkids who love it.
While admittedly, it's apples to oranges, but we did the same thing with Star Wars which we all also grew up loving and the grandkids were bored!? How do you get bored of Star Wars?! Its....inconceivable, yet, it is the Princess Bride which spans generations, despite Star War's impact on our lives being as profound, arguably more profound. This holds true for movies before our time as well such as Casablanca. We also quote from those old black and white films, the musicals, none of them seems to hold the magic for future generations as they do for us. None of them hold much interest to future generations, at least in our case. (Forget "Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Monte Pythons Holy Grail," "Young Frankenstein" and many others. These land with a thud whenever we have tried to share them with younger generations.)
That said, we aren't mired in the past and we also quote from (at least more) modern classics as, "The little mermaid," "Lion King," "Toy story," and even "Akira." I just realized that these last 4 are all animations.....Not sure if that's significant, but its interesting...... Then you have movies like, "The Matrix" which are a bit heady for younger people who lose the underlying philosophical underpinnings and so these movies are just CGI and too soon they become dated, and uninteresting to younger adults.
The magic of the Princess Bride is somehow enduring and despite a bucketful of degrees, a fair bit of intelligence, wide and world-spanning life experience, along with other gifts, long discussions on this very topic among ourselves, what that magic is and why it appears to be so universal remains elusive. Someone should do a Doctoral Dissertation on this phenomenon.....

They definitely caught lightning in a bottle when they made this movie. It was a product of the times and the amazing talent and dedication of the cast and crew. I doubt a movie with as much charm will ever be made again, especially in the current dark times.
Very very nice. Like others, I was touched by Mandy's emotion (OK, I admit, I teared up, too). I have loved this movie from the day it was released, watched it many times. My children practically know every line by heart. Heart, there's a relevant word.

It's Patinkin, but yes, he and all the cast were wonderful. I was 42 when the movie came out and I've watched every few years since.

Goes down as one the Greatest movies of all time. It can never be touched as a remake, sequel or prequel. We lost a true Hero when Andre passed away. They don't make them like that anymore. He was once in a lifetime. More than a lifetime. Need to stop. Sorry everyone. We all miss you Andre.

I really love this movie. Still have to watch it at least once a year. Andre the Giant RIP did a great job in the movie.
This is THE movie I always get excited about when someone says they've never seen it ,because I get to turn someone on to one of the greatest movies of all time.
This is one of those timeless movies. There are a lot of great movies, but not many of them are timeless. I watched it when I was a kid, and now I watch it with my kids. And it's jus as amazing now as it was then.
This was and is a delightful movie if there ever was one. I have seen this movie at least five times and have the DVD and Blu-Ray. I wish I every time I seen the movie it was my first time again. I see it about every six years.
