I’ll say this… Shine is a very, very sweet child and he’s incredibly intelligent and very emotionally connected. He definitely acts more like a six-year-old than a three year-old in a lot of ways… But I do think working on teaching him to cooperate a little bit more is going to be something that would be good for him now that he’s three. Because he has spent so much time alone with you all he has a safety space with y’all and I do think that sometimes when you throw someone else in, even a photographer, it tends to throw him off a bit. It takes him a while to come around. And it’s just something he needs to have help to work on….it doesn’t take away from the amazing child he is and how absolutely wonderful you all are parents. As a therapist, I think it’s pretty normal at this age, especially when the bulk of his experiences has been around family and not other people outside of the family.❤
On the educator side, I agree wholeheartedly. They're doing good as young parents and no one knows what to do when they have kids, there's no manual to get everything exactly right. I had my first at almost 21. I'm very glad Shine is spending time outside of the house at preschool to get that structure with other children and adults outside of the family, because it will help him build an awareness and tolerance for listening to others beyond family. I would suggest not showing or voicing your disappointment in his sight/hearing in the midst of him struggling because some kids start to feed off of that negatively. But, this is all age appropriate, and part of the growing cycle at this time, se annoying as it may be. But you have to put some firm but loving limits in place or he WILL run over yall, it happens with all toddlers 😂 (it will happen again in middle school 🙄😂)
He's a child, and honestly, at his age, you can not expect him to be patient for long. Those photo shoots last for hours! I'm proud of the fact that he got through the first session! Happy Blessed Birthday Shine, love you to the moon and back!❤❤❤
