Nice as always. Funny you showed those last two. I just got a Looking Glass Falls and Michael Steinhart is one of the older trees I have. I have it near my driveway and it is a beautiful fast grower with interesting shape and color. When I post pictures of it people love the pictures. It's planted among a sandstone out crop and seems to love the location. I love the Fairy Lights. Every time you post I add another tree or three to my I got to get that one list! lol
Awesome video from the best jm channell in the internet. Thx maplecollector to show us your beautiful acers and share your knowledge. That rufinerve looks unreal hopefully i can find one i am waiting for a fairy lights that will be ready to ship after the summer
Another great video with lots of really nice maples! Not sure what is everyone opinion but I think it would help out many viewers if you could put the name of the maples while you talking about it. That way it would help me personally what to shop for. Thanks again for the great content of your videos!
I've had it for quite a while now. I purchased it on eBay from Mapletopia. I don't think that he sells this cultivar anymore. Most online nurseries produce it but these days, it sells out minutes after being added for sale.
@@maplecollector4398 in most cases El Cajon is always 10 degrees hotter than where i live during summer time. Right now is perfect with the marine layer almost everyday here. do you happen to know what cultivar your friend have? thanks for the tip.
It's a species Acer palmatum, not a cultivar. I actually lived in San Diego for a while, near Mesa College and also near what was once Jack Murphy (Qualcomm) Stadium, off Friars Rd.
It should have one more push with peach color. If I gave it more nitrogen, I would probably see more. I prefer the long-term growth habit with a slower push though.
I collect the seeds in October, put them in well draining soil and set them outside over winter, unprotected from the elements. You may need to protect them from birds and rodents though.
Another great vid!
Thank you maple collector for another awesome episode🤩❤️🔥👌🏻! Highly appreciated for showing us your beautiful cultivars!
Thanks for another video!

do you have listing of your trees? I would be interested in trading as I have a pretty good collection.
Thank you for the offer.but I'm not really interested in trading anything.
Awsesome Aka Omote. Love the japonicums, the big leaves and subtle differences captivate me more than most Jap maple species.

Thank you! I will consider that in future videos.
Great video! Where did you find ‘Mayday’ that is easy to get?

Thanks for your reply
Amazing video as always! Where did you get your bigger Abigail rose?
Thank you! I got the Abigail Rose from Maplestone Ornamentals.
Awesome Japanese Maples! Where are you located if I may ask?
Thank you! I'm located on the northern California coast.
i just started collecting Japanese Maples and hopefully they will do good here - im in San Diego 6 miles from the coast.
Definitely plant them in mostly shade or morning sun only. I have a friend that lives in El Cajon that has a species Acer palmatum that does well.

Thank you for a look at your maples! Always look forward to your vids :-) Do you own a acer palmatum Mila? It's a gorgeous maple :-)
Yes, I do have Mila. It's a beauty!

Do you have "yuki Yama?
Yes.
Even after spring flush, my mayday still pushes pink/peach new growth. Does yours do the same or is new growth green?
It should have one more push with peach color. If I gave it more nitrogen, I would probably see more. I prefer the long-term growth habit with a slower push though.
@@maplecollector4398 I agree especially with Mikawa’s, I don’t like their growth habit when they have access to excess N.
Any tips on how to germinate the seeds? thanks
