  • This video is about my new Blue Water Bait Tank. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and it does a tremondous job insulating, cirulating, aerating, and filtering the water. This takes much of the work out of keeping shad alive and happy ready for your fishing trips!

I agree. They could round all corners and make a great tank even greater. I'd love to own one. That filter system is the best I've seen. Again, your videos are great and offer fair and helpful perspective.

Thanks for the positive feedback on my channel! I wish I could make more videos lately but just had a newborn (my second son) three weeks ago and fishing has been pretty rough since end of july. I'm hoping to try and make some fall/winter fishing videos this year if I get into some good fishing but Fall and Winter haven't come together very well for me in the past. I think this year I'm going to switch back over to shad fishing and I bet things start coming together as far as hybrid fishing goes.
Is there any content that I or others make that you particularly enjoy watching?

Floor buffing pads are reusable an are way better then anything I have ever used in 10 years with a bait tank the white color pad is the best

I know it’s been a while, but how did the bluewater’s flow rite tube do for you? I just picked up a 50 gallon and I’m wondering if cycling air from in the tank is okay or if I should modify to draw fresh air from outside the tank

Hi there. I love my bait tank. I found it hard to keep lots of shad alive over night starting in early summer though which isn't a big surprise to anyone who has attempted that lol. I think the main trick is just controlling the temperature of the water plus backing off on how many shad you try to throw in there. My mentor Bob Maindelle said he uses a professional grade "chiller" for big aquariums that circulates the water and keep it within 5 degrees of the lake water.

@@Gibsonguitarman89 So recirculating air from inside the tank hasn’t been a problem? I notice almost all tanks made now have a Venturi sucking air from outside the tank

All your videos are super helpful. But I see a problem with this company's tank. I notice most all good bait tanks have rounded corners because shad will keep swimming into a square corner and die sooner as a result. So here is this neat looking tank with smooth clean rounded exterior..very nice. It has a neat filtration system...very good. But BAM, there it is...a flat partition. And what does that create? Two very tall square corners! And then in the video it looks to me like there are shad doing that very thing.

That is a great point! It does make two corners(ish) and yes some of the shad are always hanging out in those corners at least for a little bit as you can see in the video. I think if they wanted to improve upon the design they could bow those corners more and make it even more rounded but honestly, I don't think it needs any improvement. I will say it is an "easy" corner and pretty rounded that they can't necessarily get trapped over in it like I had always when I used an ice chest as a bait tank. I personally have had a few hundred shad in it over for a few days in the summer heat and didn't have one shad die so I'm still a big fan of the BlueWaterBaitTank systems.
