Amazing gadget to protect your faucet from thieves particularly living in common areas. Well done 👏 Thanks for sharing 👍

I had this on my commercial building for a few years. I thought it was a great solution. Unfortunately, it was snapped off last night in about three seconds with a simple pair of needle nose pliers as leverage. The metal tab the lock goes through snapped without much effort. The lock stayed locked but the metal just isn't thick enough around the lock hole to stand up to much force. I have the event recorded on a 4k security camera with night vision. Super clear image. This device will discourage casual thieves but not experienced ones. In reality, the best solution is to shut the water off to the outdoor hose bib if you can.

This is good if you have lots of homeless people in your city. You also need to cut off the circuit breaker for any outside electrical outlets. I've heard stories where a random electric car driver will plug into your outlet with an extension cord to steal your power.

Is there a link for the first combination lock that you are using?

Sorry, I don't have a link for it. I bought the combination lock locally.

I had someone at my tap outside at midnight last night. Suspicion on who it is but don't want to confront. I'm recently widowed and don't need trouble. THis should stop the problem.

Thanks a very specific need. Why do you need to lock your kitchen water filter?

@@FrakkingCreations sharing house with strangers and landlord doesn't provide any. So I bought one for my own private uses, however it seems like people under the same roof has been using it w/o permission.

Too bad you can't easily remove the replaceable filter when you leave.

It can be bypass with a wrench, clamp pinch turn.. because the outer shells is close to the inner when you clamp it pinch and hold on to the inner one and now when you turn the wrench it un screws the inner one, and your done, same thing to but it back on. catch a person using a clamp with my camera on my faucet... good for home use I would say.

The outer shell is about 3mm thick so you would have to use something with more of a force advantage to be able to deform it. That said, I think there are other easier ways to defeat this lock.
But as you said, it is good for uses where it may make it easier to catch someone using your water. Plus even if you don't catch them, you will know someone did something or tried.
Most physical security can be defeated easily including our front door locks that can be drilled out or picked in minutes. But we all still lock our doors.

@@FrakkingCreations it does not need to be deform it just pinching which grabs on to the inner one, saw on on my CCTV. It leaves a wrench pliers clamp marks on the metal outer shell, takes a about seconds to open.
Not saying this isn't good its very good water lock for the price would stop most people, but crazy people everywhere with time miss up your stuff.
True about everything time to failure, high cost = last longer before it failure.
Just letting you know about the security by Pass for this lock.

      Thanks for letting me know.
Hope you can catch the guy. Hate that we all have to go to these lengths for anything we own to protect it from bad actors.
