I'm kinda partial to Fist off the first album, it was the first song I learned how to play on guitar too. Though, Damone is my second favorite song off ATF right next to BQAD.

That is something that I absolutely miss with the digital age of music: the hidden track! It was like a little treasure or present at the end of an album

@CYB3R2K30 I bought ATF in the Netherlands, and it has the hidden track with 37-minutes long MX, so I consider myself lucky 😁
I first experienced a hidden track with KoRn's Follow The Leader (Earache My Eye), since I would always search for one...

This album and Adrenaline played an integral part of my life circa 14-15 years old. Still, to this day, about to turn 42, Deftones are a daily. RIP Chi.

Good stuff man, when i was 15-16 i came across Deftones and for whatever reason it didn't hit with me . But now that I'm 24 , literally everything they've done hits me now. Probably my favorite band ever now
A friend in highschool toldme about Deftones and didnt care, but the day after he gave me a mixtape with Adrenaline and Around the Fur and now almost 25 years after Deftones is my top 1

@@HeffewiezenDudeGuy I played bass from 14y.o. til 34y.o. and Chi was one of the first dudes I studied. The Adrenaline album was a huge lesson for me! Then ATF with my drummer buddy. Chi was amazing!

I have to admit that after several listens to this record, I had a self edited version of this song that had the bong hit transition directly into Damone just so that I would hear it more often without having to skip around the silence. But seeing Steph do the full thing is just incredibly cool for the fans man, you love to see it.
I was hoping it to be a FULL play of MX, including Damone. Did not disappoint. Love this so much, thanks Stef

Deftones was always one of those bands that takes a few listens before people start to “get it”. This band got me through some tough times and will always be my favorite. RIP Chi.
When I bought Around the fur I could not stopped listening to it, I fell asleep with my headphones on... Well when Daemone started I woke up and I could not believe what I was hearing. What a joyful surprise it was to found one of the most amazing hidden tracks in the history of humanity. Thanks Stephen, thanks Deftones.
I also used to listen to ATF non stop and even falling asleep to it as well.

I love how you did the full length. First time I discovered this song I was high as hell and thought the tape ended. Then I heard the bong bubbling and when it was still on the track I was like wtf? Once Damone began playing; mental orgasm

I'm most looking forward to Steph playing this track, the bong hit and DEFINITELY FECKING DAMONE! As much as mx is a brilliant closer, damone is the reprisal that really makes this album so damn brilliant. Musically I think it signposts to the white pony sound, whilst simultaneously back slapping their previous output. A truly underrated, musically and lyrically astute, piece of metal that you won't find anywhere else.

God i loved this song on this album. I was just out of high school and i liked the Deftones 1st album but wasn't crazy about this album, then i saw them at the House of Blues. It was my first concert I'd ever been to and Chino was an absolute beast back then. He would climb up to the very top of the tall speaker stacks on the sides of the stage and leap off of them into the crowd. He did this about, oh, a thousand times it seemed like. Anyways, i LOVED this album and especially this song after that show. Still my favorite album from them by a pretty huge margin. Such a dark and groovy mood this whole album has.

In 1997-98 this cassette tape sat in my 1989 S-10 Blazer's tape deck for a solid year. There was no reason to take it out. I'm surprised it didn't melt to the internals of the radio. I still have that cassette.
RIP to my buddy Chris, also father of my niece and nephew. We played tones at work for yearssssss and got many people into them. Miss him alot but tones helps.

I worked at a record store in the early 90's when I was a teenager and we got a bunch of sampler cassettes in from Maverick Records. It had 3 songs on it, a Madonna song, Deftones and something I can't remember. Almost didn't listen to it because I assumed they were some R&B group or something. Glad I did!!!

I'm 35 and have been listening to the Deftones since I was 11. I know everyone loves WP. I do too. But there was just something so magical about ATF. I truly can listen to it front to back, and still do, all these years later. I saw Deftones in 2016 and they played MX and I was so happy they did.
They started finding their sound with ATF. Adrenaline is awesome. But you can tell they just started as most songs sound the same. In ATF they have more texture and songs start sounding different from one another. And then WP which basically is the poster child of who they are as a band.
White pony was their big mainstream break out, but self title is s a absolute masterpiece, like it topped white pony 10 fold, w no guest appearances from MJK or none of that, just straight metal 🔥🔥🔥
