Here's a summary of the process from both Blender and Resonite.
      Blender---
So first I modeled and rigged the dragon in Blender, but instead of a full-body rig with arms and legs like you'd see made for regular humanoid avatars:
I created a bone chain that started from the head as the root bone (Unlike humanoid avatars where the root bone is the hips) so that I can later make it dynamic in Resonite so it will wiggle around.
I made blendshapes for the dragon for different face expressions and also for opening/closing the mouth, and for "fluffing" up his fur.
      Resonite----
I then imported the dragon as a .glb into Resonite, opened up the Avatar Creator (Found in the dashboard)
Then I spawned in 2 cubes as placeholders for the left hand and the head (The head and left hand need an object to be able to create the avatar, but can then be deleted later)
I positioned the dragon onto the wrist of the right hand, which it will be controlled by, set up the grab spheres, toolshelf and the pointer laser. Then when I click "Create Avatar" I uncheck "IK" because the dragon does not use IK and is considered a "Head and Hands" type of avatar.
Once the dragon is setup for the right hand I add a dynamic bone chain to the dragon's head which will then go down the hierarchy to all the other bones!
Setting up the blend shapes to work with different buttons was a challenge, I found a controller "gesture" template made from Flux (Resonite's coding engine) and set the different gesture controls to control the different blendshapes of the dragon and changed the sound effect played when hitting the button I use to make the dragon sounds. I then setup a system to spawn a rainbow particle and play that wonderful scream sound you hear when he barfs rainbows lol.
If you guys want, I could see if I could make a little Resonite tutorial on how to make puppet avatars like this! It may be more than a 1 part video because I'm not quite sure how I will explain the Flux part of it but i'll try my best lol.
