April 7, 2023 Divine Mercy Sunday is coming up the Sunday after Easter. Here is the Divine Mercy Novena Day 1. Remember to receive Communion and go to Confession this week! Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me. Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Thought about this for long time I get acceptance in relating it as human term, you can't have the son without the father and you can't have the spirit unless he ascended into heaven and sent his spirit into everyone ❤️, just like a person passes away their spirit is always there with you he resides in your heart and mind but it's much greater having Father Son and Holy spirit work in and through you always God bless Stay in prayer God is good, I've had a question why is it Good Friday? When we crucified an innocent man for our sins? Should be blessed Friday as his death blesses our l8ves as he draws us closer to the father
I think because as awful as the Cross is, it is necessary & glorious. The Cross - death, resurrection, & ascension of Christ - exalts Christ & saves us.
Blessed good Friday. Jesus is seen pretty clearly in the Old Testament. Are there any passages in the Old Testament that indicate the Holy Spirit? thank you
Day 97 takeaways: No one can say, “Jesus is Lord” unless they have first been touched by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the active vehicle by which we receive the sanctifying graces. The Holy Spirit has always been there, but remained in the background until Jesus’s Ascension. Jesus did not leave us orphans. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit. We see the effects of the works of the Holy Spirit from the time He descended upon the Apostles. They were infused with strength, wisdom, and counsel to evangelize to the masses and face persecution and martyrdom. His work is revealed through the Saints. God can turn any sinner into a Saint when they allow the Holy Spirit into their lives. I have learned in my own life when you give the Holy Spirit an inch, He takes a mile. This is even much more apparent in the life of Fr. Mike Schmitz. We are indeed blessed.😀
Once a priest advised me to "meditate on the scent of the Holy Ghost" during Confession. It's been over 10 years and I am still stumped by this one... maybe someone here has some insight on how to do that or what that would possibly be like...
What is the Spirit talked about in the Old Testament? Is that the Holy Spirit too but then why would Jesus say He is leaving His Holy Spirit? Or is it that the Holy Spirit is given to us as individuals then at Pentecost that is described in the New Testament vs the Old?
Yes, that is the Holy Spirit, too. He would be given to individuals, like prophets & King David, for a time. He was not living within them, not necessarily, for their whole life. Jesus ascended which allowed Him to send the Holy Spirit into the lives of ALL believers, starting on Pentecost. When we’re rescued from the dominion of Satan & adopted into the Kingdom of Jesus, by baptism, we are fundamentally changed & literally become children of God. The Spirit can now live in us & help us if we let Him. Does that help at all?
It would be helpful, Fr Mike if you would explain what you mean by words such as eschatology and charisms, just for a little clarity. Otherwise, it feels like we are just moving through a series of word puzzles.
The way this has been explained, it repeatedly covers the same ground so much that it is a closed, self-contained system. I can’t see how I could be included in this plan of salvation for reasons I’ve already stated on the comments section of other videos…unless I ignore myself as female and just pretend I’m a generic human. That’s not realistic.
I have seen your prior comments - you *are* included in God's plan of salvation! Being female does not exclude us (even under a Patriarchal system). I am wondering, have you been baptized (you mentioned a Lutheran mother?)
@@sharonmiller9100: Godparents. Full-blood German. They were our neighbors. My parents weren’t religious, even though they both came from very religious families.
@@TheTrueOnyxRose That is great. I do think that gives you an "edge". My parents were mostly "Catholic in Name Only" - and my father is actually now probably an atheist or has no interest in God :( I really had no close relationship with Jesus growing up and am still learning how to pray from the heart. The Holy Spirit activated something in me (against my will, I did not particular want to remain or be Catholic) when I was in my mid-thirties, and I was eventually and slowly led deeply into Catholicism (mostly against my will, but the more I researched and read, the more I could not deny the Truth). I now believe it was baptismal graces being "activated" or stirred up and also my Grandmother's (RIP) prayers. I hope you keep listening and seeking.
@@sharonmiller9100: I’m not interested in truth. Truth is for philosophers. The only reason I was back-in-the-day was because apparently everyone else was. It was popular to search for the truth. As it stood, in the city I grew up in, you couldn’t help but drown in those preaching Jesus and the gospel. It was so common, evangelists actually found their own style. You really couldn’t run away from it. It was mostly Protestant Christians, so it took a long time to find Catholicism, which was sitting quietly in the background. But even then, I couldn’t help but notice how male-centered and alienating Christianity was. Even when churches said they were inclusive…no they weren’t. That was clear when you started participating in their church. Eh, religion is not for me anyway. I’m not into it. You can pray all you want, but it won’t make the division between the sexes and genders go away. Not above, not below. You’re wasting your time and energy…and I think you’re willfully ignoring the obvious…but don’t let me stop you. I said what I had to say. Things will change about as fast as the Trinity diversifying. I won’t hold my breath. Salvation is ultimately male-centered…and you might soon see for yourself when you notice females still sidelined in heaven as they are on earth. Nothing will change.
@@TheTrueOnyxRose I am sorry you are not interested in the Truth... I just don't understand why someone wouldn't be... to me *that* is being intellectually dishonest, if not willfully ignorant... (and that means seeking truth within Catholicism as well, as there is much here to discern, no church is perfect, being run by human males and all, right?)... but in any event, I appreciate the opportunity to dialogue with you. Yes, everything is male-centered. It doesn't bother me. This isn't the fault of the Church. I love being a woman. Being a mother is my vocation. I know my power. (Also, Our Blessed Mother will be in the upper echelon of all Glory, Queen of Heaven, so no, women will not be sidelined in Heaven in the least.) Why are you so dissatisfied? What is it that you want, to be a priest? Sinead O'Connor tried that already and look where it got her...

🕯🙏🕯
Amen 16-04-2024

@@TrixRN yes perfectly said!!! Thank you!!!!! God Bless and I hope you have a Blessed Easter!!! 🙏💓
It would be helpful, Fr Mike if you would explain what you mean by words such as eschatology and charisms, just for a little clarity. Otherwise, it feels like we are just moving through a series of word puzzles.
Come Holy Spirit Creator Blest, and in our souls take up Thy Rest.

Godparents.

I’m not interested in truth.

No trinity exists. The trinity is only a CONVENTIONAL (invented) doctrine, NOWHERE in the bible. "God [the Father] is a spirit" (Jn. 4:23,24). Only that ONE Spirit exists, NOT TWO DIVINE SPIRITS!!
