I have been watching your videos for a while now, and I have to say you have gotten a lot more confident in your ability to fish and film. keep em coming. the underwater stuff is killer.
@@bassntroutfishing once I had the same fish on two different rods and it did eat both baits. I picked up the first rod started reeling then the second rod went off so I put the first rod down picked up the second rod reeled it in then the first rod went for a drink. Luckily I got it back cause the fish had it.
Hey bro I enjoy your videos usually my go to on the daily. Nice to see a change up to my style of fishing. Bait and patience. If you try it again heads up to let the fish bite and fight to keep it, only reel when its resting. Anyway I been watching for years just nice to see my style of fishing different from Fly and Lure fishing something I haven’t learned yet. Keep the content coming love everything you catch and cook 🔥🔥🔥
Even though you didn't get to ice fish. You made the best of it and completed a video catching fish with power bat and marshmallows 👌 fish on man your special to many vewers 🎉
for sure a great video here and I enjoyed watching this. Have you ever got a chance to use those pautzke garlic scented fire worms. The peach color and the white color are great, the trout goes nuts over these things.
I wouldn't use treble hooks for powerbait. I usually use a #6 single hook and the stuff stays on fine. Makes it easier to remove the hook, and its better on the fish. Its also easier to use marshmallows with single hooks. I often use a marshmallow above my hook, and then a piece of red worm right below it. Great fish!!
I used to think loosening my drag was a good idea but most of the fish would let go no matter how fast I tried to tighten it, I think they can feel the tension start to build up and spit it fast. That’s why they made bait feeder spinning reels the drag locks back were you need it with the switch of a lever. I personally don’t use baitfeeders just a normal shimano stradic i just keep my drag set and just watch my rod tip the entire time, I limit fast that way can’t sleep on the job lol
That last one on the marshmallow is a beauty! Look at the keep it's getting! But yea my mind is kinda blown.... I mean why spend $$ on fancy powerbait if you can get hella cheap and get nearly the same results with $1 mini marshmallows haha
Next time you fish this lake, try a #8 single barbless hook with a marshmallow and a mealworm. Thread the marshmallow first then the mealworm. If you prefer releasing fish, you stand a better chance with a single barbless hook. Treblehooks are usually lethal to a trout as they tend to engulf them in their throat. Don’t forget to use a sliding sinker.
They’re in there.. there’s so much food in this lake sometimes the fish are just full and they do t want anything to do with what you’re presenting them.
@bassntroutfishing yeah I see so much bait there that's what I was thinking I'm usually just fly fishing I'm going to try and hit it before it freezes over and ice fish it too! Awesome videos man !
I had the same problem with losing fish using a treble hook change your hook to a kale hook light wire maybe a number four you won’t lose any more fish.
I get my fish by using worms or marshmallows. I don’t get much luck with powerbait but I’ll still use it. Dude, You need to lower your pole close to the water otherwise you’ll end up losing the fish and it will end up taking off the hook. Believe me lol it happened to me plenty of times before I learned from my dad he taught me to keep the pole low to the water otherwise the fish will manage to get off the hook and you’ll lose your fish.
with powerbait dough (or marshmellows) its all about the hook. A small treble will hold the bait and hook the fish. A single hook allows the bait to easily fall off. But you caught something so there is that
You should try one single hook with the marshmallow or at least just use a smaller treble hook, and only one marshmallow whenever I used to fish with mini marshmallows, I only use only one and I think you would get hit a lot more compared to using a bigger, triple hook, and two mini marshmallows.
Doesn't the marshmallow go with a trout worm? Never heard of marshmallow alone ... 2 fish ON ..Yea, you'll have that .... when you fish with two rods at the same time!
Stop messing with the drag and when the rod bends set the hook hard. I’ve caught tones of giant rainbows and lightings down in Cali, from mini jigs to spoons to bait and wait.
You seem like a nice guy, so let me apologize in advance... but that method you have of loosening the drag way down and then trying to tighten it up while the fish is running? Really?? You don't suppose that's why you 'fail' setting the hook on so many bites, do ya? I don't know 'who' you were with that taught you this... but I hope you guys didn't stay up late.
He does catch a lot of fish so I’ll be a mediator here. Yes in theory if you have super loose drag when you set the hook it’ll pull drag before it sets but for the most part it takes only like a pound or less of force to drive a hook into any given part of the fish
I agree with you 100%. I was like “why would you loosen the drag when they make bells and alarms ??”. Plus he’s not keeping tension on the line 😂 I thought his casting form was horrendous now his method of loosening the drag all the way takes 2nd place lol

Thanks for watching man, I appreciate it!
Crazy, awesome video, buddy. I really enjoyed watching you holding both rods with one hand and reeling both of them at the same time with the second.
Just wish there was an actual fish on the other rod😩
@@bassntroutfishing once I had the same fish on two different rods and it did eat both baits. Amazing video! I love watching your videos! Every time i come home from school and see you posted again I get so excited! Keep up the AMAZING work!
Bro the jighead and gulp minnow is a go-to for me now. Another great video and thanks man
It’s a cheat code!! Thanks for watching!
The rainbow colored power bait is kill bill for stocked rainbows, at least in missouri.
same here in pa, especially the glitter rainbow style
The marshmallows are also a good snack while you're fishing
Lol
We’re no longer godless heathens… buttttt….haha love the videos brother

Good stuff. People wanna talk smack but you still landed fish😂 and they watched your vids. W
Man that fish looked good! Nice video!
Awesome video! Thank you.
Are treble hooks the way to go ?

Yeah that makes sense. I never use powerbait anyway!
Lucked out and got to see this right as it dropped
Hope you enjoyed!
I started out with powerbait too. But at 40 years old
YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME HUNGRY!
😮

We used marshmallows in Colorado years ago &?theyvworked!!?😋😋
What’s the name of that black fishing reel that you’re using?
Amazing video idea
I love it! 😀
Thanks!
Nice video... great eating
Are they stocked or wild
Are those wild trout.?
Another great video!!
Thanks!

I never catch anything there the last couple times I have been this gives me hope I just struggle there for some reason 😂

is this spot by any chance in california?
Powerbait is a killer if you fishing stocked trout. It's imitate floating pellets that's their natural food growing up eating at the hatchery.
Whats the lakes name 10:05
I catch trout with nothing but a 1/2" square of white closed cell foam. No scent. Just foam.
Are you using weight in it ?
I had the same problem with losing fish using a treble hook change your hook to a kale hook light wire maybe a number four you won’t lose any more fish.
like a speed boat?
Why is your drag so loose when you go to set the hook.
I love your videos bro
Thanks!
I love this video .
Thanks!
Yo, where do you get your chironomids?
50K congratulations
Thanks!
How are they popping off the treble???
Idk man. Idk..
Dude has his drag completely loose..
I've noticed the trout you have been catching eat a lot of snails...is it possible to somehow use it as bait?
I bet it is

HOW DO YOU LOSE A TROUT ON A TREBLE HOOK?
With a loose drag setting.
might want to correct that title, but great video, suuuuper silver trout
😅
You need a baitfeeder reel.
where are you from?
btw dont keep your power bait in the water before you cast too long otherwise it will get soft
Power eggs are the way to go bruh. They're like little rubber balls and you can catch a couple limits on one egg!
Dude ! Thought you might be sick or dead or on vacation 😵💫😮🧐
Heck nah
You don't really need to use a hook set if you use circle hooks
Cool video!
Which state are you in?
Uhhh western US😅
Doesn't the marshmallow go with a trout worm? Never heard of marshmallow alone ...
2 fish ON ..Yea, you'll have that .... when you fish with two rods at the same time!
Open your bail and tighten your drag. Your hook sets will thank you.
Or resivoer

ahh man im sad i just lost my taco a couple of weeks agooooo
If you have not CAUGHT A STICK FISH YOU HAVE NEVER FISHED!
try grabbing the reel so you don't have to keep adjusting your drag so much
Where do you rich .
hey

The way 'you' fish... I don't think it would make much difference. I kid I kiiiiid!
