I have been following Alan for a while now and can tell you he does not do things for commercials sake. He is one of the few out there in the gardening ecospace that actually tells you the truth. He is a no frills, just sharing knowledge kind of a guy whose opinion I respect.
I am pushing 70 and have been gardening all my life, so that tells you something right there. I have a green thumb but I still learn things from him like better and easier ways of doing things. When you live in the desert with 110° to 120° every day hot summers, you have much different challenges than you do elsewhere. I can personally tell you that getting cool water to all your plants everyday is a huge job and issue.

Cool stuff!! My experience with solar devices like this has been birdbath fountains. And then they lasted about a year or two. I think the panel surface that the sun hits eventually turns opaque, which interferes with the signaling, and fountains stop working properly. This is the first time I’ve seen a watering system like this.

I'm using this one so I'll update how it does long term.

Here in south Florida those solar birdbath fountains last about a year before turning opaque and diminishing the waterflow. If not under absolute FULL sun, the water will stop flowing. Walking past it and casting a shadow on it for even a second will make it stop. Same with clouds.

@@qctropicals Yeah, this sounds like a good system of its kind. I've contacted the company with some questions that aren't on their website for possible purchase. I personally prefer to hand water my 100+ containers but looking for alternatives for when I go out of town. Continue to appreciate your great content. Thanks.
