Used to work at a grocery store. Sale by and expiration date are definitely different things. You can fill a glass or bowl with water. Put egg in it, if it sinks, is very fresh, if it floats halfway use soon, to the top, it's old.
Nice thank you!! I remember hearing that now-I’ll test these as we eat them! Thanks!
If you buy farm fresh eggs that haven’t been washed, you can water glass them and they will stay good for up to 18 months. It’s super easy to do! You can’t do this with store bought eggs, but we stopped buying our eggs and meat from the grocery. We use a locker or a butcher for our meat and we have no shortage of people around us with backyard chickens!
Just bought 3 primal Ribeyes from *_"Sav-A-Lot"_* for $7.99 lb. Cryovac wrapped.
No Bones!
They run this sale quite often at our area store.
We bought over 40lbs in total a few days ago, & bought 30lbs over a month ago.
Everyone thinks I'm racist when I call them Mexican Ribeyes, but it says right on the cryovac package "Product of Mexico". These are largely grassfed cows, & so the primal cuts aren't quite as large & quite as fatty as corn fed beef. I hav perfected the best way to cook them for our household, & just bought 4th freezer that comes on Saturday to start filling it with great deals for us & our animals, which eat Carnivore diet as well.
@@Mountain_Valley_Sky hi sky…Nice enjoy..👍💪🏻🥩
Oh my gosh!! 4 freezers!!! Hahahahhah I thought I had a lot of food right now…but apparently that’s nothing! Better get to eating! 🥩😆
Those 7 cuft freezers you buy from Walmart or Amazon are quite affordable & work well.
Costco has them also for about $50 more.
When Aldi's has the grassfed 80/20 hamburger onsale for $3.99 lb, ya gotta have space to buy & store it. When they run the $2.39lb -10lb logs of hamburger on sale, we buy that for our canines.
Both our elderly dogs have flourished on a largely Carnivore diet of chicken, beef, & small amounts of pork. Buying the 30lbs of ribs for $30, at Savalot as well (it's a local store thing our butcher does in our community) is a great treat for the animals.
The bones help keep their teeth clean, & the marrow is a great fat for them, along with the meat. You can pressure cook them & they are quite tender for older dogs with worn down teeth.
I am greatful for the opportunity to learn from YT channels like your own, & the comments section of others opinions & ideas as well.
Building healthier bodys that do not require blood pressure or other medications daily are a real blessing. Even if a person just buys the cheapest hot dogs for around $1 a package & serves that to there dogs, with kibble added in, will make them healthier than straight kibble daily.
Pressure cooking chicken thighs an extended period of time will make the cartilage & other pcs of the chicken soft enough for pets to consume.
Just don't give them the bones!
Things may get a lil wacky by years end everyone, so buy meat when it's onsale & stock up. I hope 🙏 I am wrong, & just have plenty to eat come this Fall. Yet I see things I have never seen in a lifetime or my parents lifetime, unfolding daily in our own world.
*_Better to have it & not need it, than need it & not have it!_*
Can't wait to see tomorrow's. But this was really thoughtful of you to let us know about the sale.
You are very kind Cinnie 🙂❤
I bought 4 slabs like that at our local grocery store for 6.99 a pound and ended up with about 75 ribeyes 😊
Washington state at Safeway is $5.97 but can only buy one pack. Today only.
I literally CAN'T. I was at Safeway at the same time you were posting this and bought 2 pkgs of bone in ribeye steaks...😂😂 I have a feeling today was the last day but I'm going to go back tomorrow just in case. That is an UNBELIEVABLE score!! I have gotten some really great rib roasts at Safeway that make great steaks when they are well marbled. The less marbled ones are better cooked as 3-4 bone whole prime rib roasts. Can't wait to see the results of the head to head taste test! ❤
The "Butcher Wizard" here on youtube has videos on how to cut every cut of primals
You can crack your eggs in silicone muffin cups in holder and freeze. Last up to three months. They defrost and fry up as normal unfrozen eggs would.
Wow! That’s a crazy idea!!! I should go buy the rest tomorrow then! Except I have zero freezer space right now I’m such a hoarder 😆
Awesome deals!!! 🥩 The seat belt beeping due to the weight of the food! Haha😂
😆😆
i havent bougth eggs in years... we bought 12 ex battery farm hens, (they sdell them real cheap) if the farm sells them to the public... we let them roam around our large garden in a fenced area and they lay 10 to 12 eggs a day... its worth looking into if you have a large garden.
That's Awesome! Our daughter has Chickens. She gives us some eggs every week.
Great deal! Eggs can last weeks after the "sale by" date 😊
We eat about 10 max a day so they’ll go pretty fast 😆 Steve usually eats 2-3 per meal and I eat 1-2 per meal
I found out that carnivore is a lot cheaper than the SAD. When you only buy meat, cheese, eggs, butter, occasional fish or sea food with a few spices the cost comes to about 2/3rds of what I was spending before. I also spend a lot less time cooking. I grill on my back deck and use the stove for bacon, eggs or the dogs food. Giving my dog mostly meat with some egg and cottage cheese. I have been cleaning out the old deer meat and if its too freezer burned she gets it all.
It has been cheaper for me. I stock up my freezer during sales and seldom have to go to the grocery now.
Holy smokes! Just bought some at Costco for$12.79/lb. 🤦🏻♂️
I bought the same. Since this is boneless, I don't think that's a bad deal.
Our Safeway in Oregon Ribeyes are $5,99 and FredMyers is $4.99 but that sale ended on the 3rd July I think maybe today is the last day.
I’m in Hillsboro Oregon and unfortunately they won’t let us get the primals unless it’s a sale on the ribeye roasts and that’s at Fred Meyer. Our Safeway/Albertsons are limited to 1 pack with only 2 steaks per pack ( so generous) at least Fred’s was limit of 2. I’m not even sure we can get primals at our Albertsons anymore since they put pound limits on the roast sales.
@@VintageTheresa Just depends on the Butcher and how much they have on stock.
@@VintageTheresa Chef Store you can get a whole case for $4.59 Lb and at Costco $4.19 LB
Awesome 🤩.......and so thoughtful getting the video up quick for everyone 🥰
In a different color (loving yours better though Steph), from Walmart I purchased 2 of those insulated bags for myself. After testing it for weight copacity, ,i concluded that its exceptionally strong having very durable strength. I can easily put in multiple bags worth of heavy objects into em. My bags also have the strong wide straps that includes heavily sewn into place.. Went back and got one for my elder hairdresser that was raving about it, and bought a few more for my kiddos. So far had mine for maybe 7 yrs and still acts like it new to this day. Anyhoot, this video was most awesomest!!! Happy 4th everyone 🎆 pray every animal stays safe 🙏🏼
Woohoo! Nice!
I purchased the same at frys last December at $4.97 lb.
So exciting! I am on the East Coast so I’ll live vicariously through you.
Hey guys, just found your channel a couple weeks ago as I was preparing to start carnevore diet July 1.
I live in Wisconsin and we have butcher shops in most evry little town in the state. I split a half a cow with my son from a freight d who raises Angus beef. I also buy half hog from local farmers. The beef after processing fee and paying for the meat ends up costing 4.19 a lb. That's for the roasts, steaks, hamburger everything. Hogs end up about 2.50 lb. For ribs, chops, hams sausage, hocks every cut from a pig.
Wow!! You’re so lucky being in farmland! We’re in California-Southern California at that! So not a lot around here. Would love that!
I get select Ribeyes from HEB for 4.97/lb. I got the same racks and will be cutting the back ribs and cut them into 1 1/2 in. Steaks.
11:01 You both are awesome! I'm exploring options myself for meat deals! I hope you record how Steve cut it!
I was saying you could put some in my freeze, but then I realized that my freeze is full of meat too. lol I do the same thing when there are sales on meat.
Put your eggs in water if they sink their goods;but if they float ,they are spoiled
That’s a great price for the beef and eggs. Please let us know how you like the beef. Every time our store has ribeyes on sale they’re tough-I hope yours aren’t like that.
Wish we had that store near us! Great job scoring so much beef!
Awesome find pretty steph...🥩💪👊
Wowzerz. Steph.....Sale of the Century⭐😎👍💙Cheers....Have a Wonderful meat filled Weekend😎
I get some great deals on meat at Aldi’s. Just smoked a brisket for July 4th that I picked up for $3.99/lb
Woah!! Great deal!!
Steph you rock at sales..! Steve's a very lucky man..! Oh and I've been watching you guys for years. Steph how come you don't ever age..? :)
LOL you’re watching us age over the years so you’re not seeing it. 😆 Watch an old one you’ll see it’s totally happening. EYL
eggs last forever...almost. No reason to worry about eggs going bad. They can be kept in sand or rice (low oxygen) for weeks. Plus, you'll know when they're bad...they start to separate
I'm in Florida, so best meat deals are usually BOGO at Publix, BUT you have to watch because sometimes the BOGO's are not a good deal. Sometimes the price (particularly on pork loins or ribs) is jacked up so you are paying equal to what you would normally. You have to know your pricing to see if it really is a good deal. When I see a great deal, I pounce and then put stuff aside in the freezer. Other local stores here the meat is tough and more iffy. As for eggs, you all should check out the frugal family's vids. Frugal Daddy finds eggs all the time in the dumpsters. In Florida it would never work but they are in NJ so it is cooler. Here they would be fried in the shell before you got to them. Since you dumpster dive, you might see how it works for eggs.
Wow Publix had it on sale for 11.99 lb 😮😮 you gotta great deal 🎉🎉🎉
Hi, my dears. Steph you got a heck of a deal. I love how you said here's one and Stevies jaw dropped and his eyes popped open!! LOL, I just love you guys. You get so excited about meat. LOL Don't ever change. God bless and Happy Independence Day! 🙏💖🥩
Aww Love you too Delphine thanks for being a part of our RUclips family ❤
I love when I get deals like that.
You guys are awesome!
@@charlottedunn9258 you are very sweet thank you 😊
I have always preferred Chuck. Steak or roast they always seem to have the best flavor. As always enjoy your videos.
Kroger (NE Indiana) had them $7.99 / lb limit 1. Great vid as always! Happy 4th of July!! 🇺🇲
Thank you, Happy 4th of July 🙂
I just checked our Safeway and they only have pork chops and hotdogs on sale here in Washington state . Happy 4th of July 🎉🎉🎉
Aww bummer!!!
$7.94/lb for Ribeye is incredible! Unfortunately, we don't have Albertson's in our area.
If those eggs are cage free and organic that’s an absolute steal ❣️❣️ I pay £3.45 for 1/2 dozen organic eggs here in the UK.
We are going to be keeping an eye out for the sale by date discount.
Here in Oregon I shop at Fred Meyer (Kroger) on Holidays they have bone in Ribeye for $4.97 a pound. Safeway /Albertsons are usually
.50 cents a pound higher. They all run the same deal at the same time. The cut you got from the butcher is called the primal cut. That’s what they receive and cut up. Some butchers at these stores will give you the primal cut, some won’t they are very protective of their meat 😂. So, I’ve learned where I can the primal cut for the sale price and where I can’t. I cut it myself freeze and it and stock up. You can’t even buy hamburger or chuck for that price.
We had the almost the same sale here in Oregon at Safeway, but they were only $5.99 per pound.
Nice!
I see y'all talking about picking up chuck rolls at Costco or Sam's Club, but do you pick up whole brisket slabs? I was at Sam's today, and the prices for the whole brisket are $3.88 lbs and $4.38 for trimmed brisket.
If you know your grocery store, they usually have manager's sales one day a week. This is when the store marks down products approaching the must-sell-by dates. Don't be afraid if the meat is starting to look gray. It is just as good.
Woah! No we’ve never gone for a giant brisket! Steve’s not a fan of leftover reheated meat so we need it to be small enough for one dinner plus a small
Amount for me because I don’t mind it leftover a few days 😀
@@StevenSteph Brisket can be sliced up and cooked for that day. The whole beef brisket doesn't need to be cooked at one time unless you are having guests over.
I looked at our Safeway/ Albertson's ads here in AZ and don’t see that sale. 😢😢😢Those ribs will be amazing too. I do mine in the instant pot.
I bought $300 of that "on sale" bulk ribeye at Kroger last year... it didn't taste good, no where near as good as Costco ribeye, and it was tough. Costco used to sell the bulk ribeye but they stopped last year at my local store.
Hi hiker...ikr Kroger not the best meats .. probably old cows
Kroger gets that meat from China which may explain the difference.. I’m thinking Costco comes from Australia.. sorry.. it looks like Costco gets their beef from polluted hot spots in San Joaquin Valley in California
@@miketaylor7305 Yes, agree.
Damn. I missed this insane deal! Better than Costco business center!
Happy July Forth to the family.
Thank you Donna and Happy fourth to you as well❤
In Indiana Albertsons is called Kroger here.
Oh really! I totally know Kroger-just didn’t know they were the same! I see people post deals and in like “why don’t we have a Kroger?!”
I got Ribeye for just under $5/lb at my Fred Meyer (Kroger store) on this week’s sale.
Steph, I got to Albertson's 5 minutes after their butcher left at 8 p.m. I bought two value paks of rib eye (totaling 9 lb) at $5.77/lb. Yes, $5..77/lb. (digital coupon) The choice was rib eye or NY strip. Apparently, the sale began 9 days ago and ended today. Bummer. I need to be more attentive to the sales ads on Flipp.
Wooow!!! $5.77 is jaw dropping wow! Congratulations 🎉
We are in Illinois so I googled stores. Jewel Osco is our "Albertsons." We didn't get the ribeyes, but it's $7.99 for Tbones and $8.49 for Porterhouse steaks here per lb.
Did you get some? 😋
@@StevenSteph I have to wait for my hubby to get out of work because he wants to shop too...LOL. Oh yes, we are buying.
What brand of air fryer do you have ?
AWESOME!!
Safeway where I live just had rib eye on sale for $6.97 lb. I got 20 lbs!
Wow!! Great price!🎉
Publix had them for 5.99 last christmas i bought 3 of those packs
Awesome! Gotta take advantage of those sales. Thanks for watching Jason
Girl get yourself a set of victoirnox butcher knives i know they expensive but i have learned few things in life there is nothing like a quality knife cuts meat like butter
You won’t need to go shopping for awhile😂. Hope you have a lot of butter😂
I do! Oddly we stopped eating butter much so it sits! 😆 we prefer air fried fat bites so much more we haven’t looked back at butter! 😆
Omg steph was working out guys lol live u guys
I know!! 😂 Love you too Brandi
Wish I had an Albertsons near me...
Hi Steve I asked my butchers for chuck roll and they said we don't sell thats also asked for some other meats they don't do alot off big meats they only do so much so I'm gonna ask around and see what's I can get
Rib eyes at King Soopers are like 5.99 a lb marked down and then with the digital coupon they come to 5.99 allowed 2 packs of 2 bone in they have had this sale several times in the last 2 months. AMAZING
Outstanding!
Meat Sale prices causing you to go dyslexic $7.49 = $7.94...lol
I thought they were very tough with no flavor. Very disappointing for rib eye
Bashas has chicken breast and pork shoulder roast on sale for .99/lb. Loaded up with 65lbs combined
Wow! Never heard of that store so we must not have one around here in California but that is an awesome deal!!! 🎉
@@StevenSteph it is an Arizona only chain
I'm going to definitely get the chuck roll from Costco. Really interested in what you think of the comparison.
Hope you like it as much as we do. The test will be interesting.
Ok at Christmas and Thanksgiving and father's day, I've been getting these deals for past 3 or 4 years.
Safeway and king soopers and Albertsons.
They've always been around $4-$5 a lb.
Sometimes they require u to get the whole ribeye roast to get thst price.
Which of course is fine.
I've also gotten hamburger at a great deal like $3 lb.
Varying degrees of fat.
They say min of 3 lbs... and limit to 2 pkgs. But...
U can go to the butcher in this case too.. ask for 2- 10 lb tube's.
My store doesn't limit u either cause it's a minimum of 3 lbs.
Last time I was able to buy a whole case. Like 5 or 6- 10 lb tubes.
It's amazing!
Kudos to you for being bold.
I love to watch you guys you make me laugh all the time!
And how u both just grabbed the ribeyes and started pumping iron with them!
Awesome!
I love ur channel and ur health journeys.
Peace🎉❤🎉
Oh and I'm in Colorado area.
Might be why our sales are a little cheaper
I always speak to my butcher guy :). He cuts them they way i like it. Bone off and 1.5 in
Wow, looks like a great deal. I just bought a bunch of ribeye's from my local Stater Brothers market at $7.99/lb. It is not quite as cheap but they are already cut down to steaks. I love the flavor of chuck steaks but the tenderness can be all over the map. I like them cut thin or I will sous vide a chuck roast until tender.
Yum!!! Good deal from Staters! My Staters lets me buy fat trimmings! Made friends with the butcher manager and they sell them cheaper than the Asian grocery store I’ve been getting them from! 💃🏼💃🏼
Stephen is awesome. I wanna be like Steph!
@@debbiefreeman4449 You are way too kind Debbie 🙏❤️
Let’s hope this Albertsons Butcher doesn’t get fired for doing this.

Is a Turducken considered a Chick roll? Since it’s Three Birds in one🦃🦆🐓
The Brand of your chuck roll is the same brand my steak house uses
Oh wow! Thats great to hear! Usually it’s this brand or Swift brand
@@StevenSteph it it usually really good quality. I've never heard of Swift. Is it good quality as well?
That's a good deal.
Smart !
Stephanie the eggs are good for five weeks after the sale by date.
If you have a dog they last 6 months or the dog refuses to eat them which ever happens first.
Awesome! Thanks so much!
Too bad I dont live in your neck of the woods. We dont have albertsons, safeway or vons. :(
If you cook the eggs that kills any bacteria that could have started on them, and they should last longer. I don't eat many eggs I keep them in the refrigerator for months. As a teenager I worked at a restaurant and they did not refrigerate eggs and they bought 1-2 weeks worth of eggs at a time ( that was the 60's tho.).
Yes my old roommate probably 25 years ago worked for a grocery store and she said the eggs weren’t refrigerated in the back at all…so I guess maybe they’ve found out something must be better about refrigerating them now
#30 Happy 4th of july! 🧨🧨
My Albertson's is $12.99😢
6.97 at vons

I would’ve told him for that price to cut it for me or give me bigger discount cause they sell the cut pieces for that price you saved him the cutting
He said he would cut them but I wanted to for the ease of taking it home and storing it (my freezer is full! I am keeping the cryovac bag in the fridge a while 😆) and also to see how it’s done and cut to the sizes we want 😀
@@StevenSteph understandable
But I still would’ve told him if he could make it cheaper if you took it while maybe ten cents a pound cheaper I’m sure he could’ve
