Thank you David. I needed to make sure I do this right. It's my first mite treatment. I appreciate you. It's so great that you've recorded this information to be referenced any time someone needs it. What a great legacy you are providing for future beekeepers!
Thank you, I’m a new beekeeper and I know my local group brings up your name from time to time. Please continue to do videos, it is very helpful. We need more beekeepers and we need to stick together.
DAVID - 12 year beekeeper (Long Island, NY) you are doing amazing! I send all my students to your channel to watch as necessary homework for each student.. Your factual - matter of fact take on beekeeper is wonderful - keep up the great work!
I bought your basic bee learning online class last year. Last night I bought your advanced on line classes. You have made this subject easy to understand.....and motivation to get started! LOve your style. O.......and I bought our hive boxes and packages for March 2022. Thanks again for your most excellent tutoring.
I am a new beekeeper this year, David, and I couldn't have started this without your videos! I trust your advice completely and you are just a fantastic teacher! Thank you!
I really can’t tell you enough how much of a difference you have made to my beekeeping escapades! Thanks, David, for sharing your kind and informed ways!
Thank you for making these videos. I’m new to beekeeping and your videos give me the knowledge and courage to care for my bees. Please continue making them.
Good thinking ! 😉 Just did my Apiguard Varroa Mite Treatment today here in Scotland 🏴. Will do the 2nd required Tray of Apiguard, in two weeks time. Needs to be above 16C / 64F to work correctly. Come mid Sept... Scot gets closer to being nippy! (aka Cold,) As a Nation, didn't invent Whiskey for nothing. 🤣 Apiguard is a really nice product. Alas, EU, and UK only sell those little Foil Trays amounts (A Vet Meds Licensing Remit.) However, I think in USA and CA, I've seen Beeks have super Big Green Tubs of the stuff. 🤭 Think Kamon Reynolds was using the Tub in his YT Video. 😏 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝 Happy Beekeeping 2022 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
David…I’m a new beekeeper this last spring. You have been a huge help to me, along with other info I gather. I love your videos!! Keep them coming! MK Frizzell
Thanks David,I use apiguard regularly here in Ireland. I alternate it with a different treatment which I find most effective. If I'm concerned about bees building comb I add one frame of foundation and if they are going to build they start on that, then I take action. If they don't build on it nothing lost nothing gained.
I so appreciate you!! I have been waiting for the Apiguard video, and you didn't disappoint!! You're my favorite RUclipsr. Thank you for all your time and dedication to us little keepers.
I will be getting my first bees come spring and I am trying to learn all I can so I can take care of them, I really appreciate your videos they are very informative please keep them coming.
David: Finding your channel was an excellent find. Your teaching has enabled me to try splits, catch a Queen, catch a wild swarm and check and treat for mites. Between you my head is full of Bee facts put into action. Thanks.
This is another great video, Dave! Thanks for the thorough demonstration of the removal of the honey super AND the application of the ApiGuard. Woohoo! I'm inspired! 🐝🐝🐝
You’re on a roll! Thanks for the hard work. I really appreciate all you do for the beekeeping community. I’ve got your book and your ultimate class bundle because I love your teaching style. These mite control techniques are so important, and I appreciate you walking us through exactly how to utilize them.
Thanks David!! Great work as always. I met you a few years ago in your shop when it was open and your demeanor is exactly same in person as it is on your videos. Its a very good demeanor and your unassuming nature makes you a phenomenal instructor. I appreciate all your hard work in these videos. Even experienced beekeepers can gain a tremendous amount of knowledge, and yes confidence in working bees from your effort! Please keep them coming! Oh and I need to put in an order of winter bee kind boards this year.... going to give those a try this winter and see how they do!
These videos have been fantastic. I wish there was a one size fits all mite treatment, but there really are different scenarios. For me, the only time I could use Apiguard is when the clover fizzles out mid-July and I take my summer honey off, until when knotweed starts blooming right about now. I can't use Formic Pro in August because it's too hot. So my approach is to do mite counts when I pull honey off in July. If I have mites in my wash, I do an Oxalic dribble to knock off the phoretic mites, then follow up with Formic Pro in September when the temps are cooler. I could also just use Apiguard in that mid July to end of August timeframe, skip Formic Pro, which seems to be hard on queens, and then do OAV once brood rearing pretty much stops in late October. So many variables, so I think it's worth it to learn about all of these methods and use the data available to make treatment decisions. Thanks for the overview of all these options.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS David. Very informative. I tell people to watch you, Bob Binnie and Kaymon Reynolds if they want to learn. I'd like to see a "Worth it or worthless" on Quilt Boxes. Thanks and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. IT'S APPRECIATED A BUNCH!!
Thank you for fantastic content and wealth of information on bees. Your videos are super helpful for those of us who are starting this hobby. Keep up the great work!
Yes, atleast this is what the company says, "No commercial treatment specifically targeting chalkbrood is currently available, but Apiguard has been shown to be effective."
Thank you so much David! I'm new to this and your videos have been very helpful in answering questions that are coming up for me! I really appreciate your help! ❤️❤️❤️

I watch your show every week. I’m in east Texas, I keep a deep on with 4 or 5 grams, I use the extra space to place sugar water bananas and I have no problem yet with wanting to build comb. In one hive their actually starting build some there. But you’ll bee ok I think
