I can't imagine Duchess is too keen on this build. Imagine opening THE ONLY PROPER BAR IN APPALACHIA and some bloke opens a competing location LITERALLY ACROSS THE STREET 🤣
I randomly opened an alt character the other day and picked this prefab up and decided to play with it. I paired it with the Wildwood Den to house all my games for the 30-min stat buffs, and the space between the two prefabs was turned into a power generator platform. Then along the side facing the cornfield for The Wayward, I made a little en suite building for my camp ally using the Pitt building set with the spiked roofing. Along the other side, I made a little open patio for seating with a smoking station (glitched the ufo incense burner into the orange ashtray, very nice effect) and along the back I made a nice little fenced in produce garden. I made a little workshop on the second floor of the tavern, a little Hostel on the third floor, and ground floor was a made into a makeshift diner. I love building camps, it's probably my favorite thing to do in 76, but I always try to design them to be as functionally useful for visiting players as I possibly can without sacrificing the aesthetic I want to have.
The roof flickering you spoke of around the 9-10 minute mark… a flat roof and a slanted roof snap at a slightly different height. After you have used the flamer on the first piece (flat), use a slanted roof for the second before swapping it for the flat roof. The roof which was originally placed down as a slanted roof will be a couple of pixels higher than the other and you will not have the flickering effect. I don’t suppose that’s a problem for most as the roof usually isn’t seen. However, in a situation like yours, it could be useful.
yeah its definitely a corner piece and another shout out for flat land in Appalachia XD honestly though, really nice well thought out setup. it made me think of how a chef makes one ingrediant the star of the dish and uses the others to highlight and support the flavour. this build was all about the tavern and getting the absolute most out of the corner tavern prefab and every decision did just that. i love that you made what amounts to two entire dummy structures to make the Tavern more palatable to the eye, and didnt take the Workbenches into the garage but kept them in the Tavern. it would have been so easy to have a really nice Shop with a nice bedroom at the top and put all the Benches in the garage but to deliberately not do that keeps all the interest and use of the Camp where you want it. but i also like the idea that the abandoned shop couple easily replace the back door to the Power room (completely enclosing the generator with no access) with a shelter enterence at the back of the shop, maybe tucked behind an empty display so its a kind of hidden secret bunker the store owner made pre-war. and/ or finagling the free little shelter behind the bar since its a hatch and thats how bars work. make it an underground extended bar supplies room made into a bomb shelter. i might give that a go actually...
I never use prefabs because I just can't do the lack of customization with them but you made this look really great! It is one of the nicer ones they've given us
I built my Tavern in harpers ferry, there is one spot where you can build near some brick houses. It isn't perfect (the house still stands alone) but it feels like it's supposed to be there.
@@DarthXionGames The biggest problem is that the Tavern sticks quite high out of the ground and I couldn't find a glitch how to set it up lower. But other than that it's quite simple.
Hi Darth! Well done on the build. I also purchased the exact same bundle & built on the same location. My Generator Room was built closest to the Power Conduit & flush & yes I also had to run extra power connectors to reach certain dead spots (thanks Bethesda for giving only partial power coverage). On my ground level, I have a Bar setup & down towards the stairs, x2 Slocum (a rather unfortunate name, lol) Joe Vendors. Upstairs, x3 beds for guests, a Piano & x3 interactive machines that give extra perks., top level is the master room, double bed. To the left of the main entrance at ground level, I have a large Workshop Room, which has everything that is required, but it is not attached to the main prefab, but runs parallel to it. Everything was going well, until today, when I returned to my C.A.M.P only to find x3 large holes in the walls of the Prefab (to the left of the main entrance, second level at the back & also to the front/right of the second level. There was a Scorched that had spawned inside my Generator Room, but it down little to no damage & one was shooting at the base of my Generator Room. I do believe a player griefed my base (this has occurred to me twice with the Red Rocket Garage, it was 75% destroyed (plus everything inside it), but it could be easily repaired. I am awaiting a reply from Bethesda, (screenshots sent). Worst of all, I was not able to repair the Prefab with My C.A.M.P, as it showed no damage. Last, I have added you in game Darth, the first part of my IGN is Xen******. Sorry for long comment, but there is lot's to cover. 👻
There's a wired thing with the prefab where it will appear broken when it still has about half health. I might try experimenting with it to see if I can do a more scrappy build with the damaged version, but that's probably why you couldn't repair it. If it crops up again you can drop a flamethrower trap and break it fully that way, which should let you repair it.
@@DarthXionGames Thanks Darth, unfortunately I don't have the Flame Thrower yet. Where do I acquire the plans for it? Bethesda refunded NY 1,200 caps too, btw.
That's a win then. You'll need the fireproof perk to use it, but the plan is acquired in the main story, not long after you arrive in the more if I remember correctly.
I need to know where the bar set is from. Using bookshelves looks like ass. And I gotta extend the shop structure a wee bit. Instead of the power armor, I snuck in a hot tub on the second level. Hehehehe! Was planning on using the shop structure as a workshop. Ohhhh the Tipsy Tom set...shite...
looks great but my OCD zeroed in on the rug checkerboard pattern hiccup, lol. I love this prefab. Cant wait to try for the 14 day prefab award coming up(rifle range something or other)
Thank you for the shout out sir Darth, I have many of the same gripes about the building, especially the power conduit not powering the whole building.. But looking at this build i'm going to have to go back and rework my entire build again lol... I love to hate you sometimes ;P
Great take on the new prefab. I like the extra shop at the end too. It looks like it was meant to be that way. Set up like a true tavern. I think this would go great in the new Pitt shelter. I might give that a try. Lol. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your builds and videos. 🍻
At a guess, it's probably so that the stairs are against the wall rather than in the middle of the space. They could have put an extra room back there though.
Given the design of it I'd find an open space that's relatively flat and at the junction of two roads. Any of the large towns would probably be a good place to start looking.
Try turning a flamethrower trap on it. It breaks before the health bar is completely depleted for some reason, and at that point it won't repair. If you finish destroying it with the trap that should solve the issue.
You should be able to interact with the structure directly in build mode. Failing that there's a repair all option on the camp unit. It's possible if those don't work that you've hit a bug where the prefab enters a broken state but still has some health left, preventing repairs. If that's the case grab the flamethrower trap from the turrets/traps menu and turn that on the prefab. That should finish destroying it properly so you can repair it.
It's the First Responders Camp Kit. The set was a Scoreboard reward from Season 8 earlier this year, so if you're looking for it, it won't be available for a while yet I'd imagine. I'd expect it to land in the atomic shop eventually, or possibly with one of the vendors, but it'll be a while.
This set I think are from one of the seasons I think. There's a different coloured set that do pop up on the Atomic Shop from time to time and I'd imagine next time this set comes back around it'll be on there too.
There's a built in conduit on the side of the building to the right of the front door. If you connect a generator to that most of the place should have power. Unless they've fixed it though you might need to add a conduit further up. The top room didn't get power from the built in connector when the prefab was first released. I solved it by hiding a small Vault Tec generator and a conduit on the roof.
@jacobsalinas4941 no, you wouldn't be able too. I don't think any of the prefabs have the option to apply wallpaper. It's a nice set though. I have used it in hand built camps quite a bit.
I bought this..tried building in it..just couldn't tbh. I regret buying it. The corner door really grinds on me.. the fact it don't look or feel right anywhere. And the flat land.. ha .. ya got more chance finding friendly queen mirelurk
A corner door is practically a cliche on a tavern/saloon at this point. 😂 Finding a good spot is difficult though. Junctions are a good place to start though. It's designed to be a corner plot after all.
For 800 atoms this thing is an absolute STEAL frankly. I will have so much fun just turning it into essentially a decked out mansion at my secondary camp. Because my primary is a hobo camp along the sides of train tracks, you see. I will look out for that Red Rocket garage too maybe.
Well done, after seeing yours I might make a few adjustments to mine. I hadn’t thought about it needs to be with other buildings although I’ve dropped mine next to a building that’s already there but I like your continuation. I am extremely annoyed at the power situation. It is way too difficult to get power to the top floor or kind of to the second floor. What’s the point of putting the conduit in and having it only barely cover the bottom floor. that’s just lazy. Also I had a lot of issues with pieces that would tend to fall through partially either the second floor or the third floor and then become stuck to an item below. And back to power, once you put the conduits etc. in power line placement is so difficult because it keeps trying to connect to the conduit on the side of the building. Extremely annoying. I think it’s a very lazy item by the developers. It could’ve been completely awesome. Now they left it up to the builders to make it completely awesome and try to fix their lazy mistakes. Great build though definitely!
Your best bet for power on the top floor is to hide a generator on the roof. That's what I did. The small vault tec one is silent and you can't see it once it's in the middle of the roof. Another option might be to put a solar panel on the bit of roof near the door. That's definitely one of the more awkward things about the structure though.
