You guys are so lucky to still have such a great airshow being so close to the aircraft. I’m very jealous and only wish I could be there. Great show, thanks so much for sharing. Wish we could be back at the flyby pass line again. The BEST airshow my wife and I ever saw was in 1972 watching the Blue Angels flying F-4’s. The crowd was along the taxiway while they flew down the runway maybe a hundred or two hundred feet away from us doing their demo. When they did knife edge we all had dirt in our faces and laughing while the gals screamed! Those Afterburners were sooo loud and just shook the crowd. Talk about a recruitment drive! LOL
I thank you Ferry much for this beauty film.
Awesome video of a great airshow. Such a wonderful mixture of vintage and modern aircraft and even red F16’s and B52. Incredible seeing the 1950’s Sabre and how much jet fighters have changed. I love how they let crowds get so close to the flying at Australian air shows.
Thanks for watching and yes a great mix of aircraft with closer viewing for the public than most other big shows. Plenty of highlights with great displays although for uniqueness the formation of the F/A-18, Meteor and Sabre is hard to beat. Cheers!
Well most airshow videos have really crap footage but this is the best ive seen on youtube, well done ,i didnt know we had a boomerang still flying, awsome
I was there last year at the air show. Enjoyed the Singaporean Air Force display a lot! Can't wait till next year!! The lady pilot was pretty inspiring as well :P
Great show! Pretty much runs the gamut of Aussie milli-tree aviation history. Always loved airshows, even after half the crowd were lawyers. I figure, if you go to an airshow, a drag race, a rock concert, you should know you could possible get hurt or die. That's life. The good old days when sonic booms made you feel all warm and fuzzy.
+ArtificialSpirit Apologies, got it now! Yes it's a British Aerospace Avro RJ85 but I only have footage of one other similar pass. This video link is good and may help, including all specifications plus the other waterbomber at Avalonruclips.net/video/HfprI7Pzhbk/видео.html
Luke Garbett Thanks Luke. Just an ordinary handicam style camera - JVC EZ-555 Everio. It prefers brighter light conditions which wasn't always on offer at this year's show.
The F-16's paint scheme was designed to resemble the national flag of Singapore. The air force had the jets painted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the nation's founding. Singaporean here btw. Thank you for the compliments and I hope you enjoyed the performance!
cheers Misha. It's Avalon airport near Geelong, Melbourne Australia. Used for a mixture of commercial flights, pilot training and aircraft maintenance etc
Am arriving Wednesday Mr HCS so haven't seen the Apache over Avalon as yet. Each time I have seen it flying it always looks a mean chopper. Enjoy the show!
What was going on in the first 2 1/2 mins? First hornet had the southern cross in red and white on it tail. Then saw a super hornet land and then a hornet taxing with the other 2?
+wetdownunder Well spotted. The heritage style formation of three jets had different F18's over the show days using both the classic and super hornet. Then at 8.30 onwards there is the three ship super hornet flight for the tactical scenario involving most types of current RAAF aircraft, of which the super hornets were excellent.
+AustinPetDetective It does look ridiculously close but the camera zoom definitely foreshortens the view making the crowd appear metres from the runway. The actual distance was similar to many airshows in Australia and Europe.
I had an idea it was a one man show - which is why I said it was as good as, but is actually better, than any professional TV crew. It's excellent and you have a skill and a talent worthy to be globally televised. Keep it up.
If you are referring to Sukhoi military jets then sadly no. From memory the last was a stunning display from an SU-27 Flanker many Avalon airshows ago.
With so many aerobatic teams it’s not that easy to have a totally different display, especially with the same aircraft type. Still the Singaporean commentator is as excited as US commentators!
That is better than what our U.S airshows have become! We mostly see the same planes over and over the F-18 and the F-22 and a harrier is your lucky. U.S airshows are lame compared to what they used to be in the 90's.
SoggySoxSaga Well for one. I live on the west coast. And I don't get to travel all across the US just for an air show.. Second I grew up going to air shows at Miramar when Top Gun was still there. And it was one of the best shows I have ever seen to this day. Until budget cuts and inquiries about spending money. I mean come on the Blue Angels did not fly for over a year in the U.S not long ago. This past year San Francisco tried to ban them from performing at fleet week. I have not seen the B-1 fly in years. The B-2 flyovers are almost non existent now. We got rid of the F-14, and you basically only see the F-18 and maybe the F-22 performance as far as fighters go. Maybe the F-35 if lucky
Is anyone else annoyed like I am by the angles of the leading and trailing edges of the C-17's tail? From day one I've viewed them as insolent and haughty.
Hi Tim Agree that the 3D aerobatic planes were a highlight and sorry to hear that you missed the F35. The F16 did demo but there were planes missing from the 2015 show which would have added to it like the Sabre etc.
Yes OJ the F18's were good.....fast and low at times. New restrictions in UK airshows will certainly challenge display height and viewing distances this year.
+Nigel Woolley I have no idea what those restrictions are..all I thought was that airshow prices were increasing and those restrictions were only applied for vintage aircraft?!
As a Brit it is annoying to see this video, honestly. Aircraft of all types flying lower and closer to the crowd than anything we get here now. Imagine letting a Meteor display that close to a crowd in the UK! Absolute nonsense. Once again the Commonwealth countries are showing the Brits how they should be preserving and demonstrating their historic aircraft, but currently aren't.
Understand your thoughts LL and probably getting worse after Shoreham. Just not too loud so Australian officials don't move the display line further and higher!
You guys are so lucky to still have such a great airshow being so close to the aircraft. I’m very jealous and only wish I could be there. Great show, thanks so much for sharing. Stunning and incredibly awesome aerial display line up back in Avalon Airshow 2015 😊
Cheers!
I thoroughly enjoyed that, thanks :D
Thanks for watching and for commenting too. Cheers!
Wow, so many great memories, I was here aswell and I don’t have any videos or photos of the experience so this is very cool to see, great video!
Cheers SS. Some great memories for sure especially as we are having to wait longer for the next Avalon Airshow. Thanks for watching :-)
Well most airshow videos have really crap footage but this is the best ive seen on youtube, well done ,i didnt know we had a boomerang still flying, awsome
Thanks Mark123 for comments. Yes the CAC Boomerang looks and sounds great.
What a great video....looks like a superb airshow!!
I was there last year at the air show. Enjoyed the Singaporean Air Force display a lot! Can't wait till next year!! The lady pilot was pretty inspiring as well :P
i guess I'm quite off topic but does anyone know a good site to watch new series online?

Great video mate. Thanks.
+David Melvin Cheers David.
Holy cow!! A tri-wing!! I haven't seen one of those in over 30 years!
I Loved it all but those Red F-16's are HOT Looking - GREAT video 👍😎
SUPERB VIDEOS, SIMPLY THE BEST!
The F-16 is such an awesome jet!
Well put together video!!!
+EPFlight Thanks EP flight!
that c17 doing the short landing and then immediately going into reverse is amazing.
+Taylor Thompson Yes pretty impressive TT. Useful for for reverse parking too!
It's One Nice Airshow They Had 🛩🛩👍
Excellent, thank you
I was there and it look just as awesome the second time round
Lucky dude
I didn't know that there is an Air tanker version of the BAe-146, do you have the full video @ 10:21?
+ArtificialSpirit The KC-30A is at 10.21 (a version of an A330) Is this what you meant?
+Nigel Woolley No the KC-30A is around 20 seconds after the one I am talking about, the one that is dropping water.
+Nigel Woolley Many thanks for the video.
Meteor, awesome!!
nice steady cam work great quality
+Barry Smith (temper007) Thanks Barry. It sounds like you may have experienced the challenges of attempting to get steady footage too.
very impressive video! Do you have more footage of the biplanes on 11:08 please?
Hi Zarooke Thanks for watching but with regret I have to say that I don't have any more footage sorry.
Great Vid! What was this filmed with?
Luke Garbett Thanks Luke. Just an ordinary handicam style camera - JVC EZ-555 Everio. It prefers brighter light conditions which wasn't always on offer at this year's show.
never seen a red F16 before. pretty sexy lookin
yes they look super, although disappointing they only brought a two ship air display instead of their usual six.
The F-16's paint scheme was designed to resemble the national flag of Singapore. The air force had the jets painted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the nation's founding. Singaporean here btw. Thank you for the compliments and I hope you enjoyed the performance!
Super nice! what airport is that?
cheers Misha. It's Avalon airport near Geelong, Melbourne Australia. Used for a mixture of commercial flights, pilot training and aircraft maintenance etc
Nigel Woolley wow I live in America and I fly from Sydney to Avalon every time I visit my family in Victoria
Bad Ass American F 16 Fighting Falcon !!
I was there
Going back this year have you seen the Apache flying around if your from the area
Am arriving Wednesday Mr HCS so haven't seen the Apache over Avalon as yet. Each time I have seen it flying it always looks a mean chopper. Enjoy the show!
Loved the c 17
Great video! Music used?
Michael Swaja Thanks Michael. Music used was 'Supremacy' - The Seccesion. Aviation purists don't panic, only used for intro and ending :)
What's the name of the last planes in this video? I love the sound of them
The Boomerang (also shown at 10.08) is leading a P40 and followed by a Spitfire (both shown at 10.53) All gorgeous sounds!
@1:21 Two out of the 3 are American and both Kick ass... ;)
Hi! nice, the first flight of three jets from Raaf present and past but sad, no serviceable flyable Mirage IIIO.
+Hamidun Majid Musa Totally agree with you HMM!
The RSAF Black Knights flying in red F-16s. Beautiful sight, but confusing..
Cool music / who is the artist
'Supremacy' - The Seccesion
Wow! The audience is on the runway!
Much cheaper than the grandstand lol!
아 진짜 놀랍다 멋있다.. 신기하다 아름답다...
Did the f22 fly at all?
+Bayside Bluee No BB it was static sadly. I believe the airshow certified pilot was needed back in US. The F22 did demo in 2013 at Avalon though.
Again at 8 mins 30 both aircraft are super hornets or f/a18 f
+wetdownunder Yes, correct!
What was going on in the first 2 1/2 mins? First hornet had the southern cross in red and white on it tail. Then saw a super hornet land and then a hornet taxing with the other 2?

good job!
+Freek Swart Thanks FS!
nice old biplans from 11:02 :)
Why the hell are the spectators so close to the runway ?. Safety out the window ?.
+AustinPetDetective It does look ridiculously close but the camera zoom definitely foreshortens the view making the crowd appear metres from the runway. The actual distance was similar to many airshows in Australia and Europe.
good job team
As good a documentary as any professional TV camera crew. Unless this was shot by a professional TV camera crew - in which case it's not very good.
Charles Edward Renshaw Ha...well as a team of one maybe that's a compliment then :-)
Cheers CER
I had an idea it was a one man show - which is why I said it was as good as, but is actually better, than any professional TV crew. It's excellent and you have a skill and a talent worthy to be globally televised. Keep it up.
No Sukhoi ?
If you are referring to Sukhoi military jets then sadly no. From memory the last was a stunning display from an SU-27 Flanker many Avalon airshows ago.
Bruh why the black knights copying the Thunderbirds?
With so many aerobatic teams it’s not that easy to have a totally different display, especially with the same aircraft type. Still the Singaporean commentator is as excited as US commentators!
Brilliant filming and editing! Short and sexy!
If you taxi the C17 backwards fast enough, then jam the brakes on, it will pop a mono.
zzodr how do you know this is what I'm wandering
Jets and airplanes
That is better than what our U.S airshows have become! We mostly see the same planes over and over the F-18 and the F-22 and a harrier is your lucky. U.S airshows are lame compared to what they used to be in the 90's.
don't forget the gay hick music playing in the background.

two black knights, not the usual six
Is anyone else annoyed like I am by the angles of the leading and trailing edges of the C-17's tail? From day one I've viewed them as insolent and haughty.
Love it TrevOr98 ! What annoys you about them?
"Love it". What do you love? What annoys me about them? Their insolence and their haughtiness.
I love your semantic brilliance in choice of words for an aircraft!
SUPER SUPER SUPR!!!
I know the F18 is the better plane but the Sabres more beautiful
I agree (and we missed the Sabre at this year's airshow)
Hi Tim
Agree that the 3D aerobatic planes were a highlight and sorry to hear that you missed the F35. The F16 did demo but there were planes missing from the 2015 show which would have added to it like the Sabre etc.
those F18 are nice and low..wouldnt get that in britain
Yes OJ the F18's were good.....fast and low at times. New restrictions in UK airshows will certainly challenge display height and viewing distances this year.
+Nigel Woolley I have no idea what those restrictions are..all I thought was that airshow prices were increasing and those restrictions were only applied for vintage aircraft?!
لدينا في ليبيا طياريين أفضل منهم بألف مرة
Shame you have the muppet on the micro phone and music you don't need. The aircraft speak for themselves !
yes agree....commentating when aircraft are turning back to show centre or furthest distance away would be much better
Nice. Pllane.! 😄,
As a Brit it is annoying to see this video, honestly. Aircraft of all types flying lower and closer to the crowd than anything we get here now. The public that close to the runway? Apparently they have to learn it the hard way!
