  • Tonto & The Lone Ranger walk 30 km to the Manson and back, after a recent winter blizzard in the Kaweka Forest park, our two intrepid adventures start at the Lakes car park and battle into Kiwi mouth hut, from there its on to Manson Country where Sika deer are soon found, come along for the ride...BRB

    big mission glen looked bloody icy up top good drone skills too walking and flying at the same time,that 200m shot was a (SHIT SHOT MATE)haaha it happens to all us hunters even at 20m.Good video man

    Yeah parallax adjustment at that distance won’t cause a miss like that glen . Don’t rely on the yardage increments on the parallax just adjust it to suit you at what ever range your shooting at so it gives you a clean full view through the scope .

    Amazing effort there g-dawg . That’s a heck of a walk. And to push through that snow laden bush is commitment . Love seeing stags out sunning themselves in middle of day . And Harry’s stag of course . Oh to be young again . Cheers

      @sikahill Seeing and watching stags like that is just about the ultimate for me. Harry's stag is pretty special, he will look back on that in 20 or 30 years and realize how lucky he is

    you're doing ok for an old guy mate ! you'd still walk the legs off most. and now Tonto is crossing the swing bridges so thats surely a win. Always enjoy your trips , this one i actually felt cold watching you. thanks for sharing.

    Fantastic vid mate, I can remember listening to The lone ranger and Tonto as a kid lol. Those sika aye out in the open middle of winter, they like that sun!. Good info on the tracks into there, plan on doing that trip myself sometime. Cheers

    Awesome hunt an great effort well done can be the parallax or sometimes if you shoot off hard ground with a bi pod the gun can jump a tad

      I'll definitely get to the rifle range soon and confirm what's going on. I possibly was guilty of having those backsteaks in the fry pan before I pulled the trigger

    Sometimes at the head of the gully in the morning when heat is rising it can cause the bullet to go 2-3 inches high . I have had this happen.

    Awesome video again mate,
    My parallax dial on my VX5HD is easily turned when I carry it….
    Either by the forearm in my left hand or my thigh in my right hand.
    I have emailed Leupold about it to see if there was a fix alas there is not.
    Interestingly a mates one exactly the same is much firmer and doesn’t dial by itself.

    Great vid, love trips like that. Real character building. What sort of dayly training do you do to keep up your fitness?

      Try hard to keep the weight off my frame, no point carrying an extra 6 to 8kgs. Little bit of biking when I can and a few walks with the dogs. Otherwise it's built up hunting fitness

      @@BackridgeButcher that's the one, as I get older the cycling works well for the knee strength but the older ya get the more ya need to do. Your going well. Alot of younger guys struggle to walk as far as you👌
