One more reason to have passwords only you know for all vendors and the venue. Have it in your contracts that only you can change or cancel and it has to be in person with ID.

Odessa didn't notice this isn't simply a marriage, but a larger business deal with a marriage certificate to seal the commitment, and nobody in such arrangements plays around with money - love, feelings and partnership, emotions and even other SOs feelings and needs are all unimportant. Even the children are carefully bred and raised to match the company and the elders' expectations.
Actually, this entire story is about ultrarich, greedy people reproducing money under the varnish of family values, I don't even feel sorry for the OP.

@karinefonte516 You make a very compelling point. It does feel like the story revolves more around power dynamics and financial agreements rather than genuine relationships. In setups like these, emotions and personal needs often take a backseat to the 'business' side of things. It's a harsh reality, but you’ve captured it perfectly. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

I actually don't agree with this statement in regards to this story only because these heirs were ASKED if they wanted to get married. The situations you are speaking of doesn't give consideration to the heirs...it's demanded of them.

AS IF she lived with him before marriage, in an arranged marriage culture!

Eh, arranged marriages in the modern world dont make much sense to me. Your fiance has a female "best friend". How did anyone think that this would work when its so easy to communicate in todays world?

Yeah. A best friend is one thing, but that chick is a clingy, lying, obsessed creep. The giant red flags were flying high everywhere and op refused to see them or deal with the obvious. That's on her.

@@paulagoeringer9466I’m going to have to disagree. BECAUSE it’s a business arrangement with VERY high stakes, I would think Edward would have sense enough not to jeopardize the marriage. He should have discussed his relationship with Odessa and been honest that he was in love with her. Then he could have given OP the choice to marry him or not based on that information.
I doubt OP would have felt that level of betrayal if he’d told the truth. They may have decided to marry, but lead separate lives with discreet affairs on the side.
But no. Edward and Odessa decided lies and humiliating OP were a better idea.
Odessa cost him everything! But OP is actually so lucky to have found out who he was, really, and to leave his and Odessa’s lives in tatters.
I really cannot understand the stupidity of some people. Why would you flaunt a photograph of yourself and a woman who is NOT your fiancée? When you were supposed to be dealing with that other woman upending the wedding plans? Was Edward so arrogant he thought there’d be no repercussions for his behavior?
This wasn’t a run of the mill relationship where he’d broken his fiancée’s heart. No, he embarrassed her AND her parents AND his own parents. Did he think they’d side with him when his actions might have pushed his family’s company into bankruptcy? People might be irrational and side with their kid when it’s matters of the heart, but when it’s money? Nope.

Fake story. If the first post was at 3am made due to her freaking out of the venue, why would she give all that info on the other woman before the update discovering it was her....
