My parents got their first motor home in 1980. They were HUGE Tennessee Volunteer football fans and followed their team all over the US, and actually visited all 48 states they could drive to. Dad was diagnosed with cancer in early 2000s, and they sold their pride and joy. I know they both cried.

Good find, most RVs from that era had poor construction that one is an exception. With the aluminum roof especially. I had a Winnebago 1972 that I used and repaired for a couple of years most of them are scrap because of leaky roofs and ruined interiors. Your family could really have some fun with that. Those old Onan gen sets are simple. Happy camping.

My uncle ordered a Travco "Travstar 320" in late- 1975 from Lynnwood Dodge, just north of Seattle. In a short amount of time, it went up to Alaska and stayed up there until the early 2000's when it came back down to the Seattle area and was refreshed. Aunt & uncle used it for a few trips, then they gave it to me. I've put a genuine, French-made LeCarra steering wheel on it (optional starting in '77 or '78), retrofit LED bulbs in the vintage CIBIE fog & driving light housings, full compliment of 7 Alcoa wheels (spare included) and now keeping my eyes open for a 6BT & Allison transmission to transplant in.
The well-built, vintage motorhomes are really becoming desirable. Airstream/Argosy, Barth, Clark Cortez, Condor, Foretravel, GMC, Revcon, Travco, Vogue as well as others in good shape aren't bad to own...

We would camp and do all kinds of things. He's gone now, this video warms my heart. I know you said somebody bought it to use as a work building outside their home, which will be so cool and to travel with. I hope we get to see a little bit of that. If you haven't sold it yet, I'd consider changing the fabric on the seat cushions too, to the fabric of the driver seats. It calms the whole thing down and lifts it up in cleanness too. Mostly because those old cushions just look shabby to my eye, and the newly upholstered front seats look SO much better and cleaner! I think you can ask a lot more for this thing if you do those too. Except I don't know what it'd cost to do that. I can understand you wanting to move it on quickly, but I hope you guys keep "The Bus" for a while longer! It's such a sturdy thing! Can you imagine some cool late 60's paintings on the outside? (just imagine, I don't mean DO, LOL! )

Though I love that color green, I painted my front door that same color, it would have looked more cohesive with one of the cushion colors. Or maybe a burnt orange. Just an observation. Other than that you did a fantastic job. I acquired a 1999 FLEETWOOD camper a couple year ago. I have dressed her up cute Inside with new curtains, and sticky wood flooring in the back bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I love the wood cupboards so I will keep that look but maybe change up the pulls. Outside I too want to paint her and give her a pretty dress after all these years, lol but after replacing the original awning with a permanent awning she looks more happy already. Its fun and satisfying doing a make over. Good luck, as always, in selling it. I am sure someone will grab it up fast.
