Thank you John - Thank you Zack and Ninja nerd team - this video was really helpful and i really appreciate John for being in the video . Hope you all have a beautiful day and cant wait to read the book
I just came across this channel as I did a search for Cerebral Palsy. I feel so informed, now. John's physical demonstrations helped alot too. I have a friend who is 50 years old and she has cerebral palsy. I am better able to understand her experience, now.
Thanks, thanks a lot for making those great videos. I am taking the NPTE on October 28th. Your energy in every video makes me go deeper and deeper in every subject.
Same comment to avoid repetitions, with adding my great thanks to John who is teaching doctors to help patients with similar problems. Thanks to the genius company including all; who made John can walk healthy.
Its awesome this dr is showing this. There are lables to make it a little easier for people to understand but Cebreal palsy presents very individually. I have mixed cp presenting both ataxic and dystonia. Another misconception is just because one has cp does not always have an intellectual disability. I took 4 semesters of calculus.
thanks john :)!!! trying to do some research to create a character with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy and it's really helpful to see how you guys move!
this is interesting to hear more how physical exams for cerebral palsy are done. i have all 3 forms and while neurological exams were the most challenging subject for me in nursing school, neurology ultimately became one of my strong points as a nurse // emt.
John thanks for sharing this experience i have cerebral palsy as well... this vid was really helpeful to me cheers from italy... also much love to the doctor ...
thanks for the review as I grew up with all 3 types of cerebral palsy and now am a nurse. Oh, my lord, does the Babinski Reflex test tickle! I would have broke out with laughter when tested.
Fantastic. I have seen you and always admired you. You are a real academic hero . One comment. In this video I was thinking we could have done right side reflexes and when we say let side reflex is increased then that time we compare it to right side. Just to appreciate the two sides reflexes simultaneously. Secondly we have to measure the head circumference and the spine to make the examination complete and may be make a quick assessment of cranial nerves as that would help us in delineating the etiology Also examine the head for any surgical incision to find out if he had any surgery like for hydrocephalous or subdural or congenital malformation. If he does not have hyperreflexia it may not be always present , so no worry. We should also see his bladder if it is palpable as he he has bladder involvement it will be palpable due to volume retention . Also see the spine to rule out any spinal pathology. So collateral issues but all this is at post graduate level. If has Plantars upgoing on rt side we expect increased reflexes on right side. He seems to have slight right sided hemiparetic gait.I would appreciate if we see his reflexes on right side.I liked your demonstrating velocity dependent stretch response which will differentiate between cog wheel rigidity and lead pipe rigidity as in spastic it will be same throughout and constant rigidity and is called lead pipe rigidity and if intermittent it will be cog whee and it implies extrapyramidal lesion involvement. I am your great fan.
