So I came across this channel whilst looking for welder reviews. Delved alittle deeper and seen you had a lil red micra just like I used to. Gotta say I’ve enjoyed watching every single video on the build so far, love your editing and subtle humour. Cannot wait to see this thing finished off!
Awsome work bud and a great engine choice👍🏽but one little bit of advice after 30 engine conversions in the past 20 odd yrs use 6 mm plate for all mounting as I’ve had to redo a few over the years even after using 4mm plate under hard driving the will fatigue but great work both on the engineering and the videography keep it coming your onto something 👍🏽
Really nice video, reminds me of the old Forum days when people actually showed some decent garage engineering instead of buying a Lambo and sticking an LS in the engine bay.
wat you could do to get the torch in all the way to the back is take off the outer piece and turn the shielding gas way up (maibe even add a seperate hose with the gas flowing intoo the pocket so it floods the space youre welding inside of , should work but cost a lot of gas doing it
I run the gas at maximum currently, but that’s because I use a poor quality regulator with disposable bottles. I hope to upgrade to a refillable gas bottle with a proper regulator very soon.
@@cgten we have a gasbottle trade system here ( Supergas (HWTS)) , you buy the gasbottle with the gas the first time and trade in the bottle for a filled one when empty , no rent on bottle and i think 65 euro for 20 liter of the gas , i bought my regulator second hand , a lot of welders switching to digital gauges , while the analog ones are still fine , tried buying one from a chineese website but the bottle connection is different one average job should pay you the purchase price for the bottle back compared to buying multiple of those trow away ones
I considered the beetle pan, but it only clears around 10mm and the gearbox bell housing still ends up too low. The old position also meant that the driveshafts were angled upwards at ideal ride height, so raising everything was the right move in the end.
I love your work but I have to warn you, the engine is too heavy for the chassis. The car is going to be front heavy and not handle the best, especially when braking around corners. Lupos and Arosas with 20VT engines have that problem.

CANT BEAT GOOD OLD C.A.D [cardboard aided design] top work, the mounts look A1
I actually modelled it in the other CAD too, but this was more interesting I think 😄
Your fab skills are becoming seriously impressive and I’m well impressed with what you’ve achieved with the old Clarke welder well played.
Thank you. The welder hasn’t always played nice, but it’s getting the job done.

Thank you!
It is always nice to see the old bonus bracket!
Excellent progress. The mounts look great.
Been looking forward to a new video for a while now! The mounts look great :D
Thank you, and sorry for the long wait!
The algorithm sent you to me. Subscribed. Now to watch the previous vids.
Finally, the algorithm is actually working 😄 Thanks for the sub!

This is one amazing transformation. Once thisnis completed you have to get intouch with Awesome GTI and showcase what you've done to the car.
Your skills are amazing

Refreshing and relatable. Subscribed.
Just found the channel, instant sub! Mounts look solid!

1.8k views on a 1.8t… wow
looking good 👍
Brackets worthy of project Binky.
I really like this series :=) i wish my micra k11 had a 1.8t when i had it xD
I was hoping it'd be one of those lumpy Micras. I'm subbing to follow the build, just don't "Project Binky" us all please... 😂😂😂
I think I can definitely get this done in less than a decade 😄
Could use a 1.8t vw beetle sump for more clearance, get the engine sitting lower

1st time here viewing your videos. What engine code 1.8t is it?
It’s an AUM from a FWD Audi TT
@cgten Is that the 225bhp model?
