For those who don't know : These scenes are taken of the movie "Funny games US" wich is a 2007 remake ( or copy should I rather say ) of the 1997 Austrian film "Funny games". Both have the same director, Michael Haneke.
What’s interesting is that Siobhan Fallon Hogan (the actress at the very end) also played someone who let a murderer into her house in The House that Jack Built
It was almost a comedy with how wimpy the hisband is..He literally at the end ,after his son is killed ,sits in a chair and lets his wife pull him and he is dead weight. He doesnt use his hands or his other leg to help her drag his lazy coward ass ,its insane!!
@@somerking7040 Try running or fighting on a broken leg while your opponent is armed. Good luck. The husband was made to make you think that you would do more than him. News flash, you wouldn't, and if you were stupid enough to do anything, you would die trying. Home invasions happen all the time, and they end up just like how this movie portrayed it. A child, a restrained housewife and a beaten man with a broken leg vs two young, armed and experienced serial killers. I love how the movie did its best to ensure a believable outcome.
@@SOLARITY333 yeah but thats the thing with those sick fcks. They dont want to just kill, the journey is what gets them off. Trying to run away gets you shot, but also "ends" their game. Better to die than to just sit through this otherwise inevitable torture.
When the shot goes off and he just continues making a sandwich so non chalent It really puts the head on a spin for a second until you realize the worst possible outcome Hanake aced this film and glad he made it for also the american audience
I dont understand why they left their hostages.. I mean where did they go ?. Home & came back ?.. Micheal Pitt & Brady were so cute together. They had really good chemistry , They should have their own Tv show
The idea is that the movie was a sort of social commentary of the horror and thriller genre. Where the audience loves blood, guts, and violence as long as the story predictably takes them where they want it to go. The movie kept taking it away from the viewer. And audiences loved the violence and brutal nature of the movie, until there was no payoff. Then audiences were like, 'what was the point of all of it then?' Which was the point of the movie. Why does a movie have to be brutal and violent to be entertaining, or tell a good story? I thought it was kind of interesting in an artistic kind of way.
They said before that in order for it to be a bet they had to be something to risk for them. So, they gave them that amount of time for them to get away so that it at least gave them some chance. It’s almost more cruel because they had that small bit of hope before it was quickly taken away.
These films are so boring now, especially since, you have pychis worse than that in reall life, it gets so boring now, every horror, you just know everyone apart from the baddies is going to die.
@@SOLARITY333 original had better actors, felt more real in my opinion, remake used the comedy field a little too much, takes away the frightening moments from the audience
This film stressed me out so much, but I couldn’t turn it off. All the actors did an amazing job!

This movie has become more and more of a genius black comedy as I've reflected on it.

I believe she also played Fred's mom in the Fred movies

Yes.
Beautiful Angels of Darkness 🖤 🖤
empathyless psychopathic sadism and mind games dealt to their captive victims ( a family) for gratification by posh grads ...high end evil
Sounds like crap 90s
The end credits gives me goosebumps when you hear Bonehead's music as michael pitt pierces your soul with that cold stare to the camera.
That part at the boat where michael pitt kisses naomi before pushing her idk i just found it cute and sadistically sweet lol.
Mix Is1793 i hate myself for agreeing..... i wish i could die like that.

Adam Robinette That isn't really an answer to the question.
Cinema Sorcery Yes it's not but still a very good comment.

5:25 Bravo that was fantastic
The remote control scene😒 Is soooo annoying
Daria Saccstry That's the idea
michael pitt reminds me of gus johnson hahaha
Such kind and gentle little boys. I bet they would do a thing to a soul🙂
Devon Gearhart is very good.
Hugely under rated imo
Naomi watts and Tim Roth are the best in this movie

no chance against the original.. Arno Frisch was much more threatening
Ya I watched that yesterday Arno is a terrifying actor

Movie is dumb. Looks like a 90s movie then published in 2007 who uses a flip phone in 2007. Was this movie meant to be set in the 90s
It's an English Remake of a 90's German Horror movie
How is this a reason for it being dumb? Lots of movies are set in another time period than the one it was made in.
You clearly are very young. Flip phones were the shit in 2007.
i will fight you
