    'Normal to' is probably my most used button... ctrl+8 is a pain... change to spacebar... sooo much quicker. It adds up over the days. Kl tip though, great for folk who haven't quite got to that second nature level

    • @jedhightower3225
      @jedhightower3225 2 года назад +3

      spacebar is my normal to as well. much easier.

    • @antivenom6561
      @antivenom6561 2 года назад +3

      also you can bind "normal to" to your mouse gestures, then you just have to flick your mouse while holding the right mouse button.. and you are good to go..😊

    Yesss excited for more powermoves!
    Personally I prefer to remap CTRL+8 to a single key (F8 for me) to speed up entering sketches, while allowing me to also not go normal to for more complex geometry as you discussed.

    Thanks for the tips, at work i program the buton from 1 to 4 on my spacemouse pro with your tips, 1 = S ; 2 = CTRL + 8 ; 3 = CTRL + S ; 4 = Enter ... and with that, i use only the pad number on my keyboard, but i can do a lot just with my mouse and my spacemous pro

    hmm. mine does not return to the original view when the extrude cut command is selected, it stays normal to the sketch.

    • @TooTallToby
      @TooTallToby  5 месяцев назад +1

      yeah I've had that happen too. I'm not sure why It "sometimes" goes back to the original view, and sometimes it doesn't. It used to be a lot more consistent. Maybe this is some of that great new "enhanced functionality" that solidworks brags about for each release. :-)

    • @STAiNLESS_CORE
      @STAiNLESS_CORE 5 месяцев назад

      hmmmm, seems if i select sketch on the surface it works, but i have shortcuts for circle and rectangle etc, if i select those instead of sketch it stays normal to the sketch plane during the extruded cut operation.
