This is honestly such a great video you just made me feel so much more assured. When I first started building my PC and I put the CPU and the RAM and all that stuff into the motherboard everything went so smooth and easy, but when it came to connecting the cables I started sweating buckets. My confidence is now restored, thank you so much!
This just made building a PC, so much easier. My confidence level just got boosted(in PC Building). It makes more sense now, the cable bit was the most confusing portion of building a PC.
Thank you. This video actually explained what I needed to know compared to lots of other "experts" that just yammer along for an hour without actually explaining anything.
First time builder here thanks for the info it saved me a tonne of time telling me each cable does as my power supply had everything conected to it so was figuring out what each cable was for lol and whether or not they all had to be connected in.
omg thank you for this. I got a new PSU and I was freaking out trying to figure out how and where to install everything. THANK YOU!!! Now, I feel confident when my PSU comes in.
i remember watching this for my first pc build at 13 in august 2020, can confirm if 13 year old me was able to follow this video then most likely anyone can. i still come back to this video whenever i get a new pc/parts.
Nice work again! Perhaps mention that all of the cables are keyed so that there's only one right way to insert them on the motherboard? You can easily determine which way a cable needs to go by either comparing the socket with the plug, or just looking for where the clip locks onto the socket. SATA cables have an L-shape for both power and data connections.
This was precisely the video I needed! Precise, to-the-point, helpful and informative! That's all I needed to know!! I had a general idea of what needed to go where and was reassured that sometimes they do just need a little force ☺
There are so many cords! Why this many? Why the heck can't it be like , say, a power strip, with all the ports in a row? I admit, I'm easily intimidated by new tech related tasks, but this feels like it's more elaborate than it needs to be. Thank you for making the video; this will help.
@@user-mk4or5yu9r Depending on the case you would insert the PSU either in the bottom in the back (most commonly). The PSU or case should also come with screws that will let you secure the PSU in place.
Thank you so much for this! This is a old video and you probably wont see this but I was so worried when it came to plugging in everything and doing cable management.
My power supply has the cords already attached, and I hate it do much. Everything gets tangled so easily and I have to fight with the cords every time I want to change something, or fix my ram because someone else decided to mess with my PC
I have to install a new PSU to handle a new video card and VR headset and your video made feel more confident about doing it. I hope it goes as smoothly as yours did. Thanks!
Great video, but I’m building a PC rn and the owner is using intagrated graphics so I have nothing to plug in the PCie cables and now it doesn’t turn on
Thank you so much for the help! I just bought a new PSU recently and I was so confused by the CPU and PCI-E cables, even if they had written on them (very clever idea from Segotep) I didn't knew what to insert on the motherboard between these two, in that moment I searched for it on RUclips and this video comes in the first place! 👍🏼
Ok so im legit up to cables at the moment and this video is amazing, however what did she plug the molex cable into, and if it was the adaptor where does that go?
I had finished installing my own, different brand powerful supply, and for some reason my pc still wasn't turning on. Your video helped me to go over what I had done and replace some cables that were plugged in to the wrong place. My pc is now running! Thank you for this video and information!
I'm working with an older power supply (only about 7 maybe 8 years old) and I am having a hard time getting inside it doesn't have the connectors on the outside
Wanted an rtx 3080 but got served the middle finger and needed to spend an extra almost $100 to upgrade my psu cause I only got 500w. Thanks all those wires were terrifying but I'm good to go now! Just got to wait for a new power supply and then an extra 1 million years for the gpu to restock. Also one question. Does anything have to be removed, plugged in, then reinstalled to get all the wires connected or can I just disconnect all the wires in there that I need to and then plug in the wires from the new psu?
I have a dvd reader in my computer. I’m assuming that will need to be hooked up too? Is there a standard cord for those or do I have to look into my computer and see which cord it uses?
It's been a long while since I've personally used an optical drive, but as long as it's it super old (IDE old) it should use a Sata power and Sata data cable. The Sata power cable comes off the PSU and the Sata data cable connects the drive to the motherboard ☺️
I noticed today a burn smell coming from my pc, turned it off and then tried to reboot. No display but the fans and lights still work. I noticed the psu red voltage switch in the back looked a lil burnt. What should i do?
I am new to building a pc and this video has helped a lot. I have one question though: Do the cables come with the power supply or would they come separate, for example the 24 pin cable coming with the mother board?
I have a doubt. My power supply is a Corsair RM Series RM 850 (2019) 80 + Gold Full Modular Power Supply and its cables in some places that deflect the pins (as well as the respective wire) do not have. Is it even so or is it a manufacturing defect?
hi i have same power supply so my video card has two 8 pin insertions but that would require me using two VGA cables, each connecting to a different spot on the power supply. Do I only use the one cable or am I meant to fill the entire bit out
I have a question; I have a HP desktop MO1 and I’m going to install a EVGA - BA Series 500W but i don’t know if it will fit. If you might know, pls reply

This is the real Step-By-Step not like other videos says step by step and they skip some steps. Thanks for this helpful video !!!!.
installed a rig 2 years ago, with your video. here for another build and SERIOUSLY you are the best
