Did anyone realised that surup ji's left earring is broken and the entire thing is hanging from the end of her ear throughout the dance? One can only imagine how much of concentration as well as patience to finish the entire performance without stopping when you have a dangerous wardrobe malfunction happen in the very beginning of your performance
Odissi is a beautiful dance form. Had the good fortune to watch protima gauri ji long back when she was a guest performer at our school. Wondrous dance form really! 😇💖
There are numerous gurus who have excelled oddisy. However i haven't seen the artistic inventions have done by this duo in anywhere else. Whenever i see their performance i fall in love with oddisy again and again

Wonderful artists no doubt but it's my personal observation that their improvisation and style is making Odissi Dance look very Masculine which looses the essence of grace and sensuality. Odissi is the only Indian classical dance which is very feminine and graceful.
Their Odissi dance style seems very corrupted - Odissi does not have all those jumps and sudden movements Very unpleasant to see this butchering. They can better fair in Olympics high jumps. Just sayin.....
It's not butchering my friend all dances have both masculine and feminine sides and you do not see the masculine forms in most of the oddisy dances as mostly you see them dancing for a raaga (pallavi). Not to s song like here. Also all dance forms have different styles. Some predominantly shows feminine forms some shows masculinity which develop and teach through different guru shishya parampara. That's it. All what they have done was expanding the dance language within the framework of oddisy
I feel sad for you that you don't possess the artistic sense to appreciate possibly the greatest piece of choreography and dancing ever in the history of dance.

These duos are one of the finest Odisi dancers of the World probably. How much practice they must have done!! So much polished performance.
Such grace and control - they are like heavenly beings.
The precision of the synchronicity in the micro movements is mind blowing.
