I'm glad you didn't go with that original router bit and that tiny profile, that final profile is the way it needs to be, big and bold! I can't wait to see the final results! 👍😊👍

I agree! It's really hard to do anything out in the shop with my very limited setup, but it turned out awesome!

Thanks Deborah! The lower area of the barn is done, but the big reveal does not come out until next Sunday. It does look fantastic if I do say so myself 😁 I've been busy with the outdoor stuff around the homestead now that the rain finally stopped for a bit 😊

Hi Mojo, a really satisfying video I love the way you get round problems, never heard of speckle before here in the UK we use polyfilla much the same as speckle,by the time you get finished with the Tiny house it will look like a small mansion great job

Thanks Larry! When I was working at a custom cabinet shop, we had to duplicate existing molding for contractors doing remodels on old houses. Sometimes we would have to use several machines and a half dozen bits/cutters to get a match! It was very rare that we had to have a cutter made 😊The filler I'm using is actually called spackle. It's basically drywall mud (gypsum), but it's mixed with a PVA glue instead of water, and shrinks less during drying. Like you mention, Polyfilla is probably the exact same thing 😊

I've had to do complicated molding before, but I cant recall ever having to saw away any lumber before routing, that was pretty cool! Where did you learn how to do that?

At a cabinet shop I worked at, we did a LOT of this. We had to match moldings that were long obsolete for our contractor clients. I also did a ton of this with my woodworking business.

You don't see a lot of this grand molding anymore. What a shame!

Wood is far more expensive these days, but I agree, it would be beautiful to see. 😊

Routers scare the bejeebers out of me. I would definitely have had to have someone make that for me 😬

My uncle loved woodworking, but he was terrified of routers as well. He used an old hand router (like a planer) instead.

It is a temporary setup as I build my shop, and it worked perfect.

...and it's not a "fence", it's a starting pin. No need for a fence at all, but a starting pin is called for.
