Promised Land was a brilliant album, that deserved to be a huge mega-seller, but, coming when it did and NOT being "Empire 2" hurt it a LOT, even though it is actually - as a whole - a better record than Empire.
Wow, fantastic interview. For me, he is metal royalty. I discovered Queensryche with Rage for Order, and they were my #1 band from the late 80s until well into the 2010s. I still consider them top 10 of all time so I would have been speechless if I were in your position!
@@rickylex2735 I hold the original band, Scott and Eddie included, in high regard. Tate and Degarmo are ridiculously talented to be sure, but I love the entire group. Hence my comment.
@@rickylex2735Nah, more like Geoff was just the winner of having Chris and Michael. Without one or the other, or as soon Tate took creative control of the songwriting and used more outside writers the music suffered.
@@rickylex2735 Wilton started a band before Queensryche where he hired Chris and was in Queensryche when it was Mob before Geoff joined and has written a lot of their material so don't be dismissive about his contributions.
thank you for this interview, much appreciated :)
