Wow ! From the outside it's not a boat I'd have thought about. But what a revelation inside ! The upper helm free's up a great saloon volume. Great job Dan ! 👍 🇬🇧
Great cpl of vids. Never heard of this company before, as I’ve so far only been watching UK content makers until now. But for that price, I’m very impressed. Compared to what’s in UK for same exchange value, that’s hard to beat.
Cracking Video Dan, Maritimo do also have their web presence nailed as well as they always ensure their brand appears first in many search engine boat searches. We thought is was sweltering in Oz, your looking over dressed for the climate mate!
I missed the heat as I’m in the US now. Very interesting boat this one. I spend all my time on RUclips so haven’t actually noticed their web presence but will keep an eye out from now on 👍👍
The way they hid the steps going up to the flybridge with fire. I didn't even realize they were there till after the tour of the cabins was done. All around creative interior layout.
the "two stoves" are actually ovens amigo, lol. Your right you mustn't cook that often. Also no BBQ or ice maker, little disappointing, over all still a lovely boat ..... Thank you, Love ya work keep it coming.
Dan, would you agree that this is one of the most innovative - and yet practical - mid-50 footer layouts on the market? It certainly seems to be to me. And in particular, it seems to be a layout (aka: floorpan) equally suited for passage making in mixed conditions and entertaining after arrival. Most impressive.
Yes I think thats a great assesment Jack. The Europeans do some fantastic layouts but I think Aussie and American boating favour's being more practical and this is where a design like this will work for many people in both hot and cold climates.
One of your two 'stoves' (they're actually ovens) is also a combination oven/microwave. The squares on the cooktop can be linked to give a larger cooking area.
Want to start off by saying great video really enjoyed it. But as a Viking owner this M55 doesn’t come close to comparing it or classifying it as a true tournament, fishing vessel. This is just a pleasure boat in my opinion. the craftsmanship of the cabinetry and paneling seems to be very lightweight and it doesn’t look like its made for rough seas.
Yes I was hesitating to compare the two and decided to just mention it anyway and see what you guys would have to say in the comments about it. I've only driven the Valhalla by Viking so haven't got a true reference point and figured many Aussies would be the same. Thanks for the feedback! If I get a chance to test the M55 in rough seas or visit the factory I'll film it and show you what I learn.
That's nice. I wouldn't comapre it to a Viking though as that is purpose built for fishing and this boat is a non-starter in that regards. Any boat with a swim platform out the back is a no go for sport fishing. This is a nice 'island cruiser' as we call them here in Florida. Get to take out to the Bahamas and the Keys or the local sandbar hang outs. You could fish of it certainly, but this was not in any way designed for that.
Absolutely. That's like a maxi yacht mainsail worth of windage so you'll need to be on top of it. But the variable speed thrusters means you can just stay on the power all the time.
When yoiu were setaed you said that a tall person may not be able to sit there. I have been a designer of stuff where human dimensions needed to be taken into account. The difference in head hight of a medium sizes person seated and a tall person seated is only 80mm. There is a greater difference in leg length. The only reason I would not buy this boat is I am too short, of money.
To be fair, the layout is super nice, but in no way is in the category of a top tier boat such as a Viking, Bertram, Hatteras or Cabo. Exterior of the Riv's and Maritimo's convertibles are fugly at best. If someone gave me a new one, I'd sell it and buy a nice used Viking or Bertram! That said, I would buy the Riv' express models.
The guy's making an effort to show you everything and doing a good job of it, if you only want a quick wiz round there are lots of other channels that don't do such a good job as Dan!
No hard feelings :) Yes I do talk a lot so try Boats Daily who do some great Tic Tok style quick demos which you might enjoy. My style is focused on buyers who want a very detailed presentation and test drive so they can save time on flying to Sydney or another city. I sold boats for 20yrs before this and noticed people doing all their homework on RUclips so this is why I go into extra detail.
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife nothing personal mate, just lose interest after a while, you should take a leaf from Nick bernam s Aqua holic channel ,detailed but doesn't waffle on.

Thanks for the feedback. It feels super spacious up there for sure!
Wonderful vessal , the sliding opposing windows really make it ,watch the follow up sea trail vid, perfectly balamced -that will make up your mind!

Outstanding Design
Love it Dan! Can't wait for you to get your hands on a s55 or s60 with the DAVIT on the the hardtop and a hassle free shaft drive!!!
It's a floating 'duplex' appartment ! Gorgeous ...
Loved the review. Subbed ❤
Oh yes. Lovely.

BBQ shown at 1:37mins mate
Thanks, stoves, ovens whoops. Yes the barbie was a good one out on the Adventure Deck.
Love this layout! They've done a remarkable job. Thanks, Dan!
Very welcome
This boat is also a good liveaboard with the flybridge being like an extra family room with privacy, especially when in a marina.
The flybridge feels like the saloon of a 50ft sedan so yeah I agree.

So that's what it was! Thanks Geoff i'd not seen those squares before. Seems like a good idea.
Subscribed. Awesome review. Be cool to own one 👌👍🏽

Not my type of a boat, but a great video - as always! Keep up the great work, mate - 20k subs are in the reach!
Appreciate that! Yes it's growing faster these days which is cool

Yes I really just wanted to see what you guys had to say about that to be honest.
Great review. How do you think this compares to the Riviera 58 SMY? Fit/finish and performance?
Gives me a poor man's Riviera vibes.
Oh don't let the Maritimo guys hear that - akward lol
The poor man's yacht is in the bottom of the lake or the ocean or river
Great video & walk through.
Wind? It’s gotta be a big concern no?
Absolutely. That's like a maxi yacht mainsail worth of windage so you'll need to be on top of it. But the variable speed thrusters means you can just stay on the power all the time.
I love this but I get the feeling it’s built with crappy Rv type light weight doors and cabinets 😢
It looked ok on the surface and felt solid but I haven't been to see them being built yet so can't confirm much more than that until I do.
Boat for winter
They're both ovens but isn't one a microwave also?
A microwave also? Thats handy
I" think" it's a microwave / convection oven sir because I noticed they install them a lot on vessels of this size
👍 🇨🇷

That's very interesting Pete, thanks. So factoring in 80mm is about what we need to consider.
