Last year I bought an Orange Sim Card at Cairo Airport on arrival and I was very happy with it. Good amount of GB for 3 weeks for a reasonable price. And the guy at the Orange Desk was very helpful with setting up the phone because all the messages you get are in Arabic. :)
I watched the entire video, read the blog and still haven't found the essential info about Egyptian sim cards. The very important question you missed to answer: Is tethering possible with those tourist sim cards in Egypt? As a lot of providers around the world block tethering! Thanks
Yes tethering is possible. The days that tethering in many countries around are blocked are over long ago. Tethering is in 99/100 possible nowadays. In fact I cant even remember which country this blocks tethering on prepaid sim cards.
@@TravelTomTom That's not quite true. It's not about country. It depends on the provider. For instance in Panama, I use Tigo. That provider blocks tethering but not sure about other providers in Panama. Moreover, many providers block tethering while roaming. Roaming is another topic, though.
GREAT VIEW OF THE CITY FROM THAT BALCONY!!! WHAT'S THE NAME OF THAT HOTEL THE ONE WITH THE VIEW OF THAT COLUME IN THE MIDDLE WITH ALL THOSE CARS DRIVING AROUND IT!! I AM GOING TO VACTION IN CAIRO EGYPT SOON
Thank you Travel Tom. So helpful! Do you know or anyone reading know about using ATT and their International Day Pass in Egypt? I used it in El Salvador and Guatemala and it worked great. What about Egypt?
I’ve had zero problems with ATT in Egypt. Your data isn’t super fast, but I used Uber and internet on my phone all over Egypt without issue with my international
Hello and many thanks for this information. Ill be in Egypt for 7 days. How many units do you recommend? Also do I have to get my phone unlocked? Thanks
Dude, good stuff but if you had a better camera especially with better "sound quality" you'd be crushing it even more. (Says the guy with 50 subs and awful sound quality, I gotta work on that too...)
Haha yeah everything is just iPhone and you are right about the sound quality. Sometimes it is cringe.... hahahaha. But yeah I make videos just for informing people. May be if I go more pro, I will buy a suitable camera. I like photography too much and already have a beast of a camera in my hand luggage to shoot instagram photos.
@@TravelTomTom cool man, i just got the Osmo Pocket 2 and i love it and the sound right of the camera is pretty good 👍 and it's small and easy to vlog with... I know that a bigger camera is good to have but a bit of a drag to carry and use. You put a lot of effort in editing and filming so you might as well make the most of it! I'll head to Egypt tomorrow btw so thanks for the tips, cheers man!
We in Egypt now asking the goverment for pakedge ( internet + calling ) like all world, but they still thinking!! For sure they earn sooooo much by keeping it like that, but i hope it'll change 1 day. My name' Ossama , Egyption lives in Switzerland.
