Piscifun needs to give you a kickback or something as I think this may be the best fishing product video I've ever seen. I think I'm gonna order two of these!
Thanks man! Glad it was useful for ya, I always feel awkward doing reel reviews and talking so much. But I really do like those Chaos reels and still haven't had a single issue with the three I have. I'm even preferring them over my Abu C3s the more I fish. And the kickback thing would be cool, but then it would be a pretty biased review so at least this one was honest with no other motivation. Hopefully you enjoy those reels as much as I do. I've only used the Chaos 60 models so I can't speak on the other sizes. I have a bass spinning reel by Piscifun and really like at too.
That's awesome to hear! I haven't used the 40s or 50s so it's good to know they are just as well built. I gotta admit, I was definitely skeptical when I got my first one. But I think they will be working for years to come. Hopefully you continue to have good luck with yours and get to catch a lot of monster cats on em!
Hey thanks for checking out my video, I'm really glad you liked it! Also, glad you love the reels because they are really quality reels especially for the moneyl
I really appreciate the review, I bought a few of these, their numbers look great, and the price is excellent. Its great to see that after beating the hell out of them for a year, it still acts brand new. You don't see this too often anymore. People will unbox them and criticize them or like them, and not do a one year later review....Great review, thank you.
Thanks a lot man! I hope yours hold up like mine have too. Yeah everything about them seem too good to be true in this price range but so far they are.
Glad to hear someone else is liking Piscifun as much as me and is having luck with them. I love those Abus too but man when you factor in the price of the Piscifuns, they really hold their own. Thanks for watching!
... ... Because of your video(s) and many other youtube videos where I did not see any negative reviews on Piscifun, TODAY, Feb, 1, 2023, I placed an order for 2- Chaos XS 50's and 2- 7'-0", MH,Torrent , one piece Baitcasting Rods to have matched sets. Can't wait to use them next to my Abu's. Hope to see you up on the Susquehanna this year. I have been up a couple times with limited results although I marked a LOT of fish. Went to the Bush and better success. I love the Susky so I will always be going back. . Jeff . .
Hey Jeff thanks a lot for checking out the video! I think you'll really like the Chaos reels, I haven't had any issues with my 60s at all. I haven't tried any of the 50s just because I like having more line capacity. I hope the build quality is just as beefy internally as the 60s. Sounds like you've got some great setups coming, I hope you get to break em in on some giants this year! If you see me on the Susky definitely say hi!
@@TheFlattyDaddies ... Received the reels Sunday morning. Spooled them up and put them on some old rods. Fished the Gunpowder, 1-4PM. There was a SW wind and very little to no current. Didn't even get a sniff. The reels casted very well and were smooth. The rods may be delivered today according to the tracking #. I'm hopeful. This weekend isn't looking to good on the weather side of things.
That's good to hear that the 50s are solid too. Thanks a lot- I felt like it was kinda monotone and boring (but I always think that about my stuff haha) so I'm glad to hear you and other's have liked it!
Glad to see this video drop. just spooled up my new Chaos 60 and haven’t had it out yet. I bought 2 chaos 50’s a year ago. Liked them so well I bought the 60. Caught the 25% off code. A great reel and under $50 best bang for the buck. My 75#p.b came on the chaos 50 and smooth as butter.
That's awesome to hear! Good to know they can handle a 75lber that's a dream fish there! Congrats on that beast I saw the video of it that thing was a monster!
I have a 60 and a couple of 50's. Great reels. They definitely are the best value out of the cheaper reels. I prefer them over my Kastking Rovers. The other "cheaper" reel I like is the BPS Catmaxx.
Didn't realize I actually already commented, but I did in fact order two of these in large part to this video! I ordered a bass fishing baitcaster from them a while back and really like it's value, I have little fear that I won't enjoy the value of these reels just as much!
Good to hear! Hopefully you like em as much as I do. I really like their line capacity and drag. Plus they cast great for a levelwind. I've got 3 years on the one reel and there hasn't been a single issue with zero maintenance or cleaning on it.
I have three of the Chaos 50 XS reels. Honestly, if you can make these reels last 2 years or more, they are more than worth the money. Best bang for buck reels out there for serious trophy catfishing in my opinion.
I'm with you on that man, these things are a really solid deal. I haven't tried the 50s yet but from what I've heard they're just as durable as the 60s. I have three of the 60s and other than some scratches there hasn't been anything wrong with them yet. They just continue to impress me. Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks for the feedback I'm glad it helped you out! I really think the 60 is the better bet because of the size. I hope you like them as much as I do!
Thanks! I love Abus too and still use em. These chaos reels are surprisingly good though. I like their size more than anything they are perfect for catfishing.
Hey glad you liked the video and I hope it helped you make a decision. I've had the one for 3 years now and there's still nothing wrong with it even with no maintenance. The other two are going strong too.
Thanks for the review. I'm new to cats and we have some monsters here in South Carolina. I'll be ordering the 60 and pair it up to a MadKatz Panther rod.
They should match really well and be a great combo! South Carolina is definitely a great place to catfish good luck out there and I hope you like those reels as much as I do!
I am too bud but I've been using these over the Abus just because of line capacity, that and wanting to put these through their paces. I'll still keep my Abus and chances are they'll outlast these Chaos reels, but I'm definitely digging them for now. If you pick one up I hope you like it as much as I do!
The Piscifun Chaos XS 50 is one of the best reels I have ever had the pleasure to own. It is the smoothest reel I have ever seen. I have some Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs but this reel beats them hands down.
That's great to hear since I've only tried the 60s. It' good to know they didn't compromise anything for a smaller profile- I think these reels are going to take over the catfishing scene as more people realize the quality and value of them. I love my Abus but I'm with you, I like these Chaos reels over them more and more. Thanks for watching!
Hey thanks for checking out the video I made! I keep my drag a little lighter than most people do, so when there's a decent sized fish on the line the spool doesn't always move when I reel. I'm always worried about ripping the hook out of the fish's mouth if it's not in the right place. The Piscifun Chaos has a lot of drag and could easily crank in these fish without spooling itself or even loosing line. It's more of a personal preference than a lack of drag. I know I sound like a spokesman for Piscifun, but I'm not. More of a fan by experience.
@@TheFlattyDaddies Hey bud, thanks for replying. Now with the drag being tight, wouldn't you be able to bring in the fish easier? I mean if it would be too loose, the fish would just keep going where he wants right? Oh and no problem on the view. I look forward to your vids.
I like your videos and was debating getting this specific reel. I also fish the Potomac but mostly off the river bank. What line do you recommend? I use powerpro 60 pound braided on my other reels and open to other line options
Hey thanks a lot man! They definitely cast pretty far so should be good for bank fishing. And as far as line, I would probably keep using braid since it casts a lot further than mono (in my experience) and the Potomac doesn't have as many snags as some of the other rivers, at least not below the D.C. area. I don't trust braid in snaggy areas because it seems like one little fray can ruin the durability of it. But 60-80lb Power Pro will really help with getting distance from the bank. Hope this helps!
Ok I'm sold as well I'm adding it to my collection..of cat rods ..I normaly use penn spinning reels ..I'm trying it out on a whisker seeker 9'6...tite lines..amigos
Awesome man hope you like it! Casting reels are a pain to get used to but are great once you get the hang of em. I bet you'll cast a mile with that combo too. Penn reels are tough to beat though. Good luck and hopefully you catch some monsters on your Chaos!
I.have a penn 750ssm .penn fierce 6000 live liner..and a 5000 sargus .the 6000 is on a whisker seeker 9'6..the 750ss on a Shakespeare cat rod the sargus as welll ..I can cast with these reels no problem. I learned with a daiwa tournament bass reel..
Hey thank you for checking out the channel! Yeah, I definitely still recommend the Chaos 60. I've had zero problems with all three of the 60s I have and I've used them pretty hard. I'll probably be replacing my Catmaxx reel with one soon too. They have scratches but that's about it but that's because I just throw them in the boat and they bounce around while I'm trailering it. Still smooth and quite, drag still works great and nothing has broken. Love em!
Yeah I've been very surprised that they're holding up so well. And yeah I got the power handles for my Abus and they were over $20. Maybe one day something will give on the Chaos reels but right now they seem really sturdy.
I’m torn between buying this reel and an Abu garcia, I can’t help it but the cheap skate in me wants the Chaos, would you recommend this reel over and Abu Garcia?
Whoa sorry I missed this comment! They are definitely different reels and it depends on the size you're going for with the Abu. I have the 6500 C3s since they're still made in Sweden and they are definitely dependable reels that haven't given me any issues for the 3 plus years I've had them. But they're spool is a little on the small side if you like using mono. The Chaos 60s are a bit bigger and have more drag, plus they have remained in great shape so far. I don't think you'll regret getting a Chaos if you go the cheaper route but I only have tried the 60s. Not sure about the other models. I have 3 of each, and I'm probably going to get more Chaos reels. I started using them exclusively when I'm fishing in a 3 rod state like PA.
You probably could, but the 50 might be better for that. The 60 is more of a cast the bait and wait reel, not so much a cast after cast kind of reel if that makes sense. It's a tank and will handle big fish but I think casting it with a swimbait would be hard.
Hey thanks for checking out the video! I unfortunately don't get to saltwater fish too often so I can't help out too much. I know the 50 and 60 sizes will definitely handle mackerels, but never caught a cobia so can't say for sure on that. The 60 is a beast though for what it is, just not sure if would be overkill. If you're trolling for them it would be fine but if you're planning on casting or jigging it may be too much. But really not sure. Good luck out there!
@@TheFlattyDaddies reason I ask is because i ordered the 50 and will it hold atleast up to 300 yards of line and I usually catch king up to 50lb or more and cobia up to around 40lb
I would go with the Chaos over the Rover. They seem to be holding up way better than my rovers and are a lot more robust and well built. I really can’t believe the value of the Piscifuns.
Hey thanks for watching! I like to say it's because I don't ask for people to subscribe in my videos, but really I'm not sure. But whatever the reason I'm just happy that I've got as many as I do.
Most of it I think is the fact that you tube isn't promoting your videos you need to have someone like river certified come on your boat with you sometime. He is one of the respectful people vs some of these kids like Googans. I think if more people knew of your channel they'd subscribe
@@qmyers20mallard87 yeah collaborations definitely help channels grow. I've had few with the Potomac guys and that helped a lot, I can't imagine what Spencer would do for mine. He is one of my favorites that'd be a highlight of my fishing career for sure. The logistics for that aren't exactly in my favor since I'm in Pennsylvania and he's in Iowa, but maybe some day. It probably sounds like a copout, but I've never worried about how big my channel gets. It seems like the views I get come people that genuinely like the content and that's all I want out of this. It's a hobby to help support the times that I can't get out fishing.
I only add the clicker when I have a big fish on that is pulling a lot of drag, and that's just to let the people watching how much line the fish is taking. It gets annoying for me and I'm sure most people on RUclips don't either so I usually turn it off part way through the battle. Thanks for checking out the video!
So I'm 44 & just getting into catfishing again haven't fished since I was a teenager and I used the ol Zebco reels back then. Would you recommend this for me? I've never used this type of reel but have the opportunity to fish the river by where I live now and people regularly catch fish there from 10-60lbs and I want to have adequate equipment. Thanks in advance for your advice
You will eventually be able to use this style of reel but they take some getting used to. There will be birds nests but that's just part of learning them. A good way to learn them is to set the spool tensioner really tight and slowly back it off as you get comfortable with it. It won't cast far until it's looser but you'll have less mess.
Hey thanks for checking out my video! They only come in blue and that model (the Chaos 60R) is the biggest model they have right now. I paid $58 for it on Amazon, not sure what their current price is but it's probably close to that. I put 30lb mono on and it holds plenty, but you could probably step up to 40 and have enough if you like that heavy of line. And yeah, it handles really big catfish! I haven't caught anything over 55lbs on them, but they handled that one and a few other 50s, 40s, and 30s with no problem at all. I feel confident it could handle much larger fish too.
It's supposed to. I've used one in the saltwater once and didn't have any issues but haven't really tested it. Looking at the internals though, there doesn't appear to be anything that would corrode from saltwater.
Hey man thanks for checking out my video. So far they have been great in winter with ice all over them. Never had anything bad happen while I was using them in either the cold or heat. I did just have my first issue with the one I bought back in 2019, it popped an E-clip on the level-wind bar which allowed the bar to move some and cause some grinding. It still works fine just has some noise even after replacing the clip. I think that was from getting banged around in my boat while driving but not sure. As far as the 16oz weights, can't say for sure. I know they handle the 10oz weights I use no problem but I've never gone any higher than that. They seem beefy enough but don't want to say for sure without trying it.
Hey thank you for watching! I haven't had a chance to try the 50s yet so unfortunately I don't have any idea on it's line capacity. I'm hoping to get one for channel catfishing soon though.
Hey thanks for watching! Yeah you can reel with with the clicker on, it'll be the same resistance as if it's not on. But if you disengage the reel by pushing the button for casting it'll freespool with the clicker on. There's some resistance just so it won't loose line but if the boat sways or a log gets on the line, it'll spool out.
About the only way I know is to adjust the spool tensioner knob. But then you sacrifice distance on your cast. I haven’t had much of an issue with the breaking but I always them the spool right before the bait hits the water.
I think it would handle them really well. It's handled some hard fighting and hard running flatties and blue catfish. They have impressively smooth and strong drag cast nice. If you're looking for something that you're constantly casting and jigging with, you may want to go with something a little nicer but I think you won't be upset with the quality.
Hey thanks for watching my video! I use 7.5ft BnM Silver Cat Elite medium heavys. I love them- have 6 and never had a problem. But they're a little pricey as far as catfish rods go around $70. They're great boat rods though
@@TheFlattyDaddies good deal!! Just bought two PICSIFUN CHAOS 60 REELS AND WILL GO GET ME TWO NEW RODS. I have used Abu Garcias for years and ready for a new reel or 2.
Hey thanks for watching! Some people use the clicker just to hear the drag run like in spinning reels. I usually don't but every once in a while with a big fish I'll turn it on so people can tell it's pulling out line. I try not to keep it on long though because a lot of people, including me, find it annoying. Also I use 30lb Big Game on my 60s because I'm able to fit a lot line on at that weight. Haven't lost a fish yet because of it breaking.

I might buy one. Do you think I could fish swim baits for muskies with it?
You probably could, but the 50 might be better for that. The 60 is more of a cast the bait and wait reel, not so much a cast after cast kind of reel if that makes sense. It's a tank and will handle big fish but I think casting it with a swimbait would be hard.
Look at the levelwind
What size would you use for cobia and king mackerel?
I'm stuck between this, or the kastking rover?
I would go with the Chaos over the Rover. They seem to be holding up way better than my rovers and are a lot more robust and well built. I really can’t believe the value of the Piscifuns.
With all the big fish you catch how do you not have more subsribers
Hey thanks for watching! I like to say it's because I don't ask for people to subscribe in my videos, but really I'm not sure. But whatever the reason I'm just happy that I've got as many as I do.
Most of it I think is the fact that you tube isn't promoting your videos you need to have someone like river certified come on your boat with you sometime. He is one of the respectful people vs some of these kids like Googans. I think if more people knew of your channel they'd subscribe
@@qmyers20mallard87 I agree with that
@@qmyers20mallard87 yeah collaborations definitely help channels grow.
Why reel with the clicker on
I only add the clicker when I have a big fish on that is pulling a lot of drag, and that's just to let the people watching how much line the fish is taking.
I recommend learning to cast a baitcasting reel before you try to start catfishing with one of these.
@@bradsvintagefishing4307 appreciate it, unfortunately I don't have any other reels, guess I'll buy a Zebco 888 and be content with it
You will eventually be able to use this style of reel but they take some getting used to. There will be birds nests but that's just part of learning them. A good way to learn them is to set the spool tensioner really tight and slowly back it off as you get comfortable with it. It won't cast far until it's looser but you'll have less mess.
What color can you get them in and can you put more bigger line on and how much does it cost can you catch big catfish on that reels
You think it’d hold up good in saltwater conditions?
It's supposed to. I've used one in the saltwater once and didn't have any issues but haven't really tested it. Looking at the internals though, there doesn't appear to be anything that would corrode from saltwater.
How does this reel do in winter. Do you think it can handle 16oz weights?
@@TheFlattyDaddies thank you
The piscifun #50 have similar line capacity than abu garcia 6500? Thanks!
Hey thank you for watching! I haven't had a chance to try the 50s yet so unfortunately I don't have any idea on it's line capacity. I'm hoping to get one for channel catfishing soon though.
So you still have drag and can reel with the clicker on ?
Hey thanks for watching! Yeah you can reel with with the clicker on, it'll be the same resistance as if it's not on. But if you disengage the reel by pushing the button for casting it'll freespool with the clicker on. There's some resistance just so it won't loose line but if the boat sways or a log gets on the line, it'll spool out.
im confused with how you adjust the brakes on this reel, any help would be appreciated.
About the only way I know is to adjust the spool tensioner knob. But then you sacrifice distance on your cast. I haven’t had much of an issue with the breaking but I always them the spool right before the bait hits the water.
@@TheFlattyDaddies yea thats what I was thinking, thank you for the reply.
@crimsiin9918 no problem, glad you were able to read through the typos and autocorrects.
centrifugal breaking
Is it good for striped bass?
I think it would handle them really well. It's handled some hard fighting and hard running flatties and blue catfish. They have impressively smooth and strong drag cast nice. If you're looking for something that you're constantly casting and jigging with, you may want to go with something a little nicer but I think you won't be upset with the quality.
Is the level wind still loo se
It has some play in it but doesn't seem to affect the operation. The three I have are all about the same from factory.
What kinda rod u using?
Hey thanks for watching my video! I use 7.5ft BnM Silver Cat Elite medium heavys. I love them- have 6 and never had a problem. But they're a little pricey as far as catfish rods go around $70. They're great boat rods though
@@TheFlattyDaddies good deal!! Just bought two PICSIFUN CHAOS 60 REELS AND WILL GO GET ME TWO NEW RODS.
I have used Abu Garcias for years and ready for a new reel or 2.
I ordered the PICSIFUN med/Heavy action Rods 7'6" to give them a workout up here on the Missouri River with flathead and blues...
2 questions.
Why turn the clicker "on" when reeling in and what line are you typically running on the xs 60?
Hey thanks for watching! Some people use the clicker just to hear the drag run like in spinning reels. I usually don't but every once in a while with a big fish I'll turn it on so people can tell it's pulling out line. I try not to keep it on long though because a lot of people, including me, find it annoying. Also I use 30lb Big Game on my 60s because I'm able to fit a lot line on at that weight. Haven't lost a fish yet because of it breaking.
